Ok-swapped the tube stripe decals…They look the same to me 🤔 but I’m sure you folks have more trained eyes. @gmrhodes13

That is definitely a little weird.

Here's a EIB approved ESB and very similar if not the same (not the best photo), it must just be the decals

And another

Leave them as is, if you do apply for EIB you have references of others ;)

How to the shins and sniper plate look? I want to make sure before I proceed with the rear cover strips and adhering the knee.

You do have a bit of a gap under the front, if you could get it to sit a little further back,, if not don't stress you can have a gap there.

Sides are the BIG pain in the posterior

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):

  • Sniper knee plate must be aligned with the ridges on the shin.

Here's one the DO commented on adjustments today

dazFyz4.jpg

NOTE:  For a more screen accurate look, it is suggested that the top of the rear ridge of the sniper plate be aligned with the top ridge of the calf. Also note that  the sides are angled rather than curved.

@gmrhodes13 et al., How does the knee plate look here before I glue? I heated it a bit so it would conform to the angles a bit more. Should I trim on either side or leave as is?

Sorry for the delay, we have a curb side cleanup in the area so been on a slow drive picking up some free items for Star Wars builds, we love free :duim: Amazing what people throw out.

You could trim the pencil line on this side.

h6rCfze.jpeg

You could also trim the curve on the inner corners, here's an EIB approved

UR2iMxK.thumb.jpg.7baf63a0d301c980a0301c564db19825.jpg

And the one the DO commented on, not the sharp angle of inner corner. If you use a small drill in the corner first it will help prevent it from splitting.

dazFyz4.jpg

Some EIB ANOVOS approvals for reference, each a little different to the other. If you could drop the front a little to make the gap under a little smaller would look better, but as you see some others have that large gap too ;)

OK-great! @gmrhodes13 Glen - I was wondering so that is why I made the pencil mark in that spot-cool 😃

I will make cuts more of a 90 on the knee plate and get less of a gap like you suggest. 👍

Glued up the sniper knee plate. I cut away some of the material on the bottom to get it to sit closer to the front of the shin/knee.

Nice positioning, you can also trim the inner curve if you feel inclined

Woah nice fit. That thing can be a real pain in the posterior armor and yours looks great. As mentioned you could make the angle a bit more sharp but otherwise I love it

Thanks guys! Yes-my plan is to make that curved area a bit more sharp as you suggest.

While the sniper knee is setting, I worked on the right shin. I was able to trim the cover strip to size and glue to the outside. I plan on using white Velcro for the final fitment.

Too late now but I didn't glue the full half on the outside shin, I glue a 1/3rd I find 2/3rds of velcro holds a lot better :duim:

You may also need to adjust the closure, many use a hot water bath, wrap with tape a little more than you need and tape, when cool open and check.

Looking good, I find in a few places I have to really push down with the tape while gluing so they sit flatter.

You can nick/round the corners too on most armor pieces

Any gaps you may have between the lower ridge you could add either ABS paste, sugru or even paintable silicon.

Worked on the back of the thighs and only glued one side for now as they seem rather stiff so did not want them pulling apart.

Will let these set for 48-72 hours…

Anything under pressure while gluing I tend to leave a little longer, 48 to 72 hours is best.

You can really squash down the armor and tape around a few times to get cover strips to sit flatter.

Looking good and keep it up! Yeah for cover strips I play it safe an let dry for two days. If for some reason they need extra reinforcing (like my forearms) I added a second inside strip

I made sure the holes were 20mm apart in the strapping however, not sure the left kidney part will fit now. I held it there and it’s too tight and it overlapped. I may end up leaving these and using snaps with straps here (I hate taking spilt rivets apart!).

Worked on cod and butt plate. Placed the two snaps in the butt and the one (unpainted) rivet in the cod.

Hey guys!

Looking at some 3D print blasters. Does this one look correct for ESB?

This thread may be of use

There are a couple of versions, ANH without hengstler or power cylinders and the Promo version, it is a little different to the ROTJ style which your image appears to be.

Modified ANH

Promo version (pre ROTJ)
