Thanks for starting the thread. Here are some proposal to adjust the titles:

- Spats and greaves armor are a single piece for this armor, so they should be combined

-  Shoulder winglets are parts of the chest armor, so they probably should be combined

As for the helmet, here is a proposal for the description:

Level 1

-          Lens is smoky gray or black in color. The lens must be sufficiently dark enough to obscure the costumer's eyes

-          Two black aerators are present on each mandible end, which are dark grey color

-          four recessed tube stripes are present on each side of the mandibles

-          A diamond shape black greeblie is present in the recessed mouth section between aerators

-          The nose section is black and separates the cheek plates. The nose section has a series of stripes and a single one that links the recess presents on each cheek

-          The upper cheek is white and has a recess line running across the nose

-          The lower cheek is recessed and has two sections that forms a V-shape. The upper portion is  black and the lower portion is dark grey.

-          The brow is black, protrudes from the dome and extend to the ear caps

-          The top of the helmet is dome shaped and white color

-          A medium grey rectangular section runs along on each side of the dome and separate the front and the rear sections.

-          A medium grey ear cap protrudes from the main rectangular section and contain a gloss white clip greeblie.

-          The rear section is  medium grey, starts below the dome shape and has a protruding band that joins the two middle rectangular sections. There is trapezoidal shape that protrudes and ends at the lower corner end of the middle rectangular section.

-          A white strap is attached to the rear section of the helmet. It has teeth and a flat section

-          Temple section on each side is  black and protrudes from the dome

-          There is a white collar around the bottom of the helmet that hides the wearer’s head

Level two

-          Protruding ear section is visibly a separate piece

-          Clip greeblies and strap are visibly separate pieces

-          Aerators and diamond greeblie are visibly separate pieces

-          The collar has vent oblong holes on the rear section

For the general CRL info, I would propose a slightly different name to distinguish from the animated series, like Wookieepedia already describes:

Description: Imperial armored commando, The Mandalorian

Prefix: TK

Detachment: First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment

Context: Star Wars the Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 23 & 24

Under the leadership of Moff Gideon, a new class of elite soldier has been trained and equipped with advanced weaponry. Highly trained in the use of multiple lethal weapons and equipped with beskar armor and Mandalorian weaponry, makes him a formidable adversary.

For general construction notes, I would mention the following, as the armor can be made out of 3D printed, resin, vacuum formed parts.

-  All components should closely match the Imperial Armored Commando from the  Mandalorian season 3 episodes 23 & 24.

All Armor is constructed from a rigid material such as PLA, PETG, ABS, fiberglass, plastic, resin, Sintra, vacuum-formed ABS, firm rubber, metal, or similar, unless specified otherwise in section below

-  Armor has the appearance of thickness and depth.

I believe the upcoming 2025 Black Series figure is also called the Imperial Armored Commando. Of course, there's no box yet but that's how the news sites are listing it.

Do we have enough visible evidence to call out "Satin" paint finish for basic level?

We deal in absolutes where possible based on information available to the open public, then only use BTS knowledge to fill in gaps.

Here say and guess work is what we do spend a fair bit of time on

Let's get some feedback from staff and members on this.

If it looks like a satin finish, let's get some consensus, please.

Agreed, let’s not specify specific level of gloss in this document as  to my opinion reviewing the reference pictures, there is not sufficient evidence to support the level of reflectivity as there are no crisp pictures that would give definite answers. The various paint colors are all reflective, but gloss level is better not be specified in basic level. Will remove from proposal above

What has been done in the past is to add a reference to support the text, especially for questionable areas or items and especially when we are putting a requirement on pieces/details of a particular piece.

I've not had time to delve deep into this CRL at this stage as I have a convention next month and trying to get some items finished.

Hi! Thanks for the feedback!

i can certainly place specific images directly in the text for detailed areas if preferred.  for ease of reading I thought it would be better to have a separate picture document.

all the reference here are supported by the screenshots of the document in the gallery season 3 section in which I separated each armor section with multiple images for each.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/1kyFo-slANYcMenbP4R1iwSTxfOJ2AJoJ/edit?usp=docslist_api&filetype=msword

this is a detailled proposal in which I though of placing details, but if you prefer to have a more general document just remove the details references.

It's much easier to add reference with the text rather than going off forum looking for a specific image, makes it easy to follow. It's also good for later when referring back to the CRL creation and updating when new reference material comes around.

This is of tremendous help so far Francois.

I'll start to add text into the first post but we can continue to look at and discuss references to bring this up to where it needs to be so we can present it to the LMO team in the near future.

Glen has a good point with the reference images , they certainly are our guide to written text and description.

Keep up the stellar work on this.

I would also like to add, once we have covered off all these parts and some feedback on wording etc, I would like to add a separate section for the Officer version with the additional red detail and blaster variant.

I think because they are so close, we could have both covered in this one CRL with a few caveats indicating what is worn with what, but effectively 2 costumes.

If we have enough feedback to show a separate CRL should be created specifically for the officer version, then that is also a viable option and an easy enough CRL build, providing we have someone willing to make those additional pieces and build an officer.

Hi,

Small correction proposed to the first draft, Looking closely at the greaves, the level 2 should read 'The greave is a single piece construction with a seam only present at the rear which overlaps to the OUTSIDE'

As per reference pictures below:

Had a few minutes spare this morning, a couple of things.

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned, came up in one of the build groups, sewn lines on the long sleeves are only on the outside.

Blaster

OPTIONAL L2

3-D printed blasters can not contain visible print lines and must be sanded smooth for a more realistic appearance

Handle should have a molded/curved appearance

curved.thumb.jpg.e61ee598241a446035236d31ee2abb4e.jpg

From TFA onwards we've added electronics to CRLs

OPTIONAL L3

Must have working red barrel light

I'll find a better reference

  • Details to be painted black and metallic per reference photos.

Perfect, thanks Glen.

I'll look to update on those over the next day or so.

To follow up on the above modification proposal , since the 3D printing is going to be used for the armor, I would suggest that the following general construction note be added similar to other detachments CRL :

- 3D printed armor must be finished without any visible print lines

for the flight suit long sleeve single sided exterior stitching proposal, I would propose to move this  requirement to level 2, as it is not an obvious detail and even on reference pictures it is subtile . Some suits made with stretch material even seem not to have any stitch

We will definitely have that in the CRL, both for armour and weapons.

Once I have the Wiki Origin document set up with the layout, those messages will be added in and examples will be posted, so all can see how the CRL will start to look as a finished product.

  • 2 weeks later...

Little update

Wiki Doc is fully constructed and images slowly being added.

Construction of the CRL is well underway, but this draft is still up for review, not final by any means.

Some changes have already been made from the first post draft, as I read through and re-word some items, so the language is familiar to other FISD CRL's.

I will post a revised full version in the near future for further scrutiny before we submit to the LMO team for their review.

They also may request further changes.
