Well I suppose magnets for clamping for now. I’m looking at attaching the pauldron like JAFO did with magnets. And might look into doing magnet closures for some of the armor.

Yeah, I like the idea as well of being able to go with and without the pauldron. That is if I get a pauldron:)

Hey everyone,

So unfortunately, the tracking number that was thought to be my armor turned out not to be. It was for an Amazon order. Oops:blink:. Turns out my kit hasn’t shipped yet.

Also, on KB’s Facebook page, he posted that the master mold for the TFA helmet died so the TFA helmets are going to be delayed.

Oh well, I’m hopeful that the armor will get here before The Rise of Skywalker premieres, and the helmet hopefully not long after.:)

Hey everyone!

Something very exciting has just arrived early!

The BBB!

And here is a shot of the armor, all unpacked. The only things I'm missing is the helmet(which I am told will arrive later) and the TD tube.

I will try to update as much as I can, but I will be quite busy leading up to New Years. Hopefully after that I will be able to work on it more and update accordingly. I will also post some closeups when I have more time.

Until next time

Happy days, now wait for the sheer panic to set in "I've got to start trimming this" ;)

Haha! Yeah, I'm glad I didn't make this my first build, it seems a bit more difficult.

Hey everyone!

Trimming has begun!

I've decided to start with the arms first, so here they are!

Still need to trim some more off the wrist to be able to fit my arm in there.

So much plastic already!:56pullhair:

And that's pretty much it.

I have a question:
Are there ways to fill a seam in the armor without a full part repaint?

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve seen a KB kit without paint. There are very few parts that don’t require welding and filling.

I've not seen anyone able to find a way to do so as yet, there are too many areas that need filling to not require paint.

Thank you guys. I guess I’ll have to plan for paint.:duim:

I ordered my KB kit Christmas day so I'll be following close behind! What's your plan for under suit/gaskets?

Sweet! Another KB FOTK!

For the undersuit, I plan to use the same as my ANH TK, black 2 piece compression garments.

For the gaskets, I plan to make my own, but I haven’t really done much research on them. I’ll update on my findings once I find something.

Hey everyone!

Happy New Year!

And I also have some progress to report!

First off, how is the bicep looking? I think it is almost ready for glueing.

I also applied the velcro to the insides, as I plan to do the canon way with velcro instead of glueing.

I also trimmed one of the spats, and it looks pretty good I think. Still need to sand and do the other side.

And thats pretty much it.

The pills on the biceps look to be off centre in your pic. Here are some reference pics:

Do you have extra abs to play with?

Sorry, I realize my question was a bit vague, I didn't have time to take a picture earlier of what I meant.

Would trimming this off fix the issue?

I guess the answer is whatever you’re comfortable doing to get the desired look is the way to go. Are you able to trim more from the other side to get the result?

Looking good Jayke.  Once you fill in the seam the area will look more proportionate. You don't want to trim off too much as it may leave the bicep too small for your arm, especially after you install the gaskets.
