RS ANH stunt build in Turku Finland

You could try a piece of Velcro in the front of the shin, with a loop of elastic that goes through the loop at the top of the boot. That should let it move, but pull it back in place as needed.

I went with Velcro directly on the boot and shin (I'll post a pic in a bit) - but this also means it is tight around the boot, and wears away some of the white dye on the leather.

Some youtube research kind of confirmed the thought I had in my head. This video

at 2:25 is the way to go me thinks.

When you start doing a new return edge the looks can be deceiving.

You just stare at the result and start crying.

But with some abs paste, a file and sandpaper you can do wonders.

This edge still needs some sanding, but it's a self made return edge. Hurray!

Original vs self made kidney plate return edge.

Starting to get the hang of making return edges.
But plate done.

I'll probably be the slimmest Stormtrooper in this galaxy :D
The helmet looks kind of big on me, but that's life in a small mans world.

Almost there!

Strapping missing here and there.

The canvas belt is here tomorrow.

Then the bloody thighs that need a lot of trimming. If I make them fit well they will most likely look too thin. so I guess I need to compromise a little.

So, it looks like you went another way with your tube stripes. They look great! Care to share how you finally painted them?

Tube stripes... DAMN THEM!

The best I could produce is not even close to my own standard

Transfer decals?

Step one, order the decal stensils from trooperbay.

Two. Put them on carefully.

Three:. Paint white first. Let dry.

Four. Stir the bejebus out of the blue then paint. The white fills cracks and crevases in stensils, then blue goes in better.

The shins tend to move up over my shoes when I walk, have to figure out some strapping here.

Maby some strap under the heel or something.

After you pad them theyll sit still. Add velcro inside and to tongue of boot surface.

While trimming, leave enough space so that the thighs give you around 1/2" space on all sides. This should help give some bulk to them while keeping them from getting too thin - and then you can always use some foam pieces inside to hold them evenly on your legs. Plus, the return edge will make it look thicker.

Sure.

I chose Trooperbays painted look decals.

They look great and couldn't be easier to apply.

Maybe I'll paint with stensils later.

Torso ready. I'll post some pics of it on me later. The fit is good.

Never actually thought this would fit me at all.

The thighs has really been a struggle for me.
They have noting to do with a man of my size.
But the left one is done (took almost a week to finish it)
So close now, only one thigh to battle.
I'm starting to bond with this armour, and I actually think it looks pretty good on me despite my size.
Happy man!

Fantastic build!  Are you considering submitting for EIB/Centurion?

It's nice to see another RS kit sized to a smaller frame.  I'm in the process of sizing all my pieces down, and it feels like this thing is going to take forever!  Seeing what you did, though, it gives me hope.  ;)

Good luck with your TD!

It's built to Centurion specs so OF COURSE I will apply for EIB/Centurion :D Just haven't had time to take the pics yet.

Sizing down is a challange in it self and some times I felt that I took huge risks, but measure, measure, measure, measure, measure and cut.

What really helped me was the belt sander, with it you really can take baby steps.

The good thing with RS ABS is that it's just 1,5 mm and it bends easily when putting stuff together.

I personally made the coverstrips slightly thinner to compensate for the armour size. Proportion is everything!

Oh, the pouch, it belongs to a Shoretooper ;)

Good luck with your build... and take it easy :duim:
