Somatophylax[501st]
Hi, Are the "mike tips" from Trooperbay (http://trooperbay.com/mike-tips/) 501-approved for a TK ANH helmet? Thanks
ukswrath[Staff]
Should be, Mike's products are generally up to par.
TK bondservnt[501st]
I actually don't like them.. the are not white on the inside... and the inside behind the screen is filled. "what the?" get a pair of keith's or mark's... you won't be getting a bad product that way. mike is a great guy but his tips only look good at a glance
ukswrath[Staff]
You're correct Vern, I just double checked trooperbays and they're NOT white in the center as they should be. Good call
ukswrath[Staff]
BTW other than TB, Keith's are the only one available being Mike hasn't responded to emails in a month or so.
Somatophylax[501st]
I've sent a PM to Keith. Thanks
ukswrath[Staff]
I've purchased a couple set from Keith, they're spot on.
Khazid[TK]
Check out Marcus' 3D sets as well. He hasn't started production runs yet, but pm him for details. I have a set coming to replace the ones my MTK kit came with.
trooper96[501st]
Just a side note to this discussion, but TK Boots offers tips cast in aluminum. I have ordered a pair. http://tkboots.com/HOVI-MIX%20Pa2.htm

TK bondservnt[501st]
Keith's are the best nect to sskinky - mark's tips... the accurate ones are made from plastic not aluminum.
trooper96[501st]
What in particular do you find deficient about the TK Boots aluminum tips? I received them today and thought they looked pretty good. But I'm no expert. Edited April 29, 2015 by trooper96
gazmosis[501st]
From an appearance standpoint, there is nothing really "wrong" with any of the above mentioned mic tips. It is preferred that they be hollow all the way down (Trooperbay's are not), but if they are not, it's not breaking any rules. Mostly it's just a matter of preference and those bitten by the accuracy bug prefer the plastic/resin ones.

trooper96[501st]
The aluminum tips were hollow all the way down, with a hole drilled in the bottom. What else should I look for as far as accuracy is concerned?

What else should I look for as far as accuracy is concerned? From what I've investigated the only tips available that are accurate are: 1) Keith (US, not answering emails at the moment) - (plastic, hollow, painted, with base mount) > http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/4369-mic-tips-mic-tips-mic-tips/ 2) Mark (UK) (plastic, hollow, painted, with base mount) > http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26932-sskunkys-cfo-anhesb-hovi-pa2-mic-tips-ongoing-run-2014/ 3) tkboots.com (US) (aluminum, hollow, not painted, with base mount) > http://www.mytkarmor.com/HOVI%27s.htm Edited April 29, 2015 by ukswrath
