SCTrooper[TK] Posted February 8, 2015 Author Report Posted February 8, 2015 I trimmed the face plate Quote
SCTrooper[TK] Posted February 8, 2015 Author Report Posted February 8, 2015 I put some rivets in to make trimming the ears easier. Quote

SCTrooper[TK] Posted February 8, 2015 Author Report Posted February 8, 2015 This how the bottom looks. another shot I know these are out of order, but you get the idea. Ears are next.. Quote
SCTrooper[TK] Posted February 8, 2015 Author Report Posted February 8, 2015 One of the reasons i started this build thread is to encourage people to trim the eyes and the teeth out more. The ATA helmets are very thick with faint details, you have to trim more out for it to look right IMHO. The cap has better details than before, The rear details look great. Cheers, Nick Quote

SCTrooper[TK] Posted February 9, 2015 Author Report Posted February 9, 2015 Thanks guys. the high brow is pretty hot. Ear trimming, using the score and snap. i marked with a pencil first and left some extra room for error. Quote
SCTrooper[TK] Posted February 9, 2015 Author Report Posted February 9, 2015 marking high spots with pencil. Quote
SCTrooper[TK] Posted February 9, 2015 Author Report Posted February 9, 2015 I couldn't get the ear to fit flush on the top, so i put another rivet in. Quote
SCTrooper[TK] Posted February 10, 2015 Author Report Posted February 10, 2015 I promise I'll trim my finger nails after I trim the ears Quote
SCTrooper[TK] Posted February 11, 2015 Author Report Posted February 11, 2015 Finished the ears, The left one was easy, but the right one took a while. I ruined one ear and had to start over. I don't know if anyone has noticed, but the rear details have better definition than before ATA's has increased his game. I won't paint this for a while, but I'll post pics when I do. Cheers Nick Quote
Fumanchewie[TK] Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Nicely done. Thanks for sharing. Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Nice work!!! You are lucky the top rivet on the left side (when looking at the lid) didn't get in the way of your top ear screw Quote
SCTrooper[TK] Posted February 11, 2015 Author Report Posted February 11, 2015 Nicely done. Thanks for sharing. looks great! Nice work!!! You are lucky the top rivet on the left side (when looking at the lid) didn't get in the way of your top ear screw Thanks, guys, and your right Gaz, I had to move the ear 1/8" back to clear the rivet. Plus I have to say, the ears are better than before, there's not so much rough material and it gives you more to work with. Quote
BobasBounty Posted July 4, 2015 Report Posted July 4, 2015 Great build thread. I am working on an APA bucket and I am happy with it so far. Totally agree that the eyes and teeth need to be trimmed out more. I like how yours is coming along. Quote
