Hello guys! I would like to know your opinion on this armour:

http://m.ebay.com/itm/111355539347?nav=VI

I know it is fiberglass but this set usually gets sold for about 230$ wich, as a college student with little money, is pretty good!

And the feedback from people who bought the armour is not bad!

Is there any way a fiberglass armour could be wearable? And maybe get 501st approved?

Appreciate the answers!

Thanks!!

Agree. Agree. Agree.

Just to be clear, the unassembled kit isn't the same kit used on the fully assembled picture, which btw isn't recommended too. This kit is clearly to be avoided.

I thought so, okay so the set is not living up to 501st standard.

But what is really wrong with fiberglass, is it because it is so heavy and hard to assemble?

What if someone was just looking for a armour to make a descent looking stormtrooper? Then would it do? Or is fiberglass simply unbareable?

Better to save up for an ATA. I think if you order now, you'd be able to save up the money and do the research, before the armor is ready to ship.

No rush, no disappointment, no negative comments. Win-win :)

Let's be clear. We don't have a vendetta against ebay. There are honest, good sellers on there. However, when it comes to armor, the unfortunate truth is that some ebay sellers will tell you anything and show you any picture to close the deal. It is common to see a seller even use pictures from the 501st reference library to make you believe their armor will look like the picture. This is deception no matter how you look at it.

The armor available here has been tested. The sellers are trustworthy and honest or they wouldn't be selling here. We can' t stop you from buying from Ebay, but we might not be able to help you if you do and find out it's not what you expected. We warned you!

Yes, ebay is to be avoided for the most part. But, as Steve said, there are a few good, honest sellers there.  Here is one of them.

MTK Armor out of San Diego.  He's sold 3 kits in the last 24 hours, and only has 1 left!  I believe he uses the CAP molds (same as ATA) with some minor changes, if I'm not mistaken.  Same guy that runs trooperbay.com.  A reliable seller.

Good luck!  :duim:
