A newbie's plan to build a ROTJ - TK

Hello and welcome ladies and gentleman!

Since I am preparing to build a Stormtrooper from ROTJ, I believe it is time to revive this part of the FISD ;)

Some general things to mention before I start:

- I am now 18 :)

- I am totally new to building costumes and this means I will require tons of help :)

That should be all for now. Let's start!

On 2nd February my research has begun and until now I have got nearly all the parts together: Updated 09.11

Armour and helmet:

CFO (qee)

In addition I will buy the strapping pack and the white armour trim, too, from him.

Neckseal and holster:

Darman

Gloves:

Ebay *done*

Boots:

Ebay. They will be painted white.

Under suit:

My parents print T-Shirts so I get the parts from them. *done*

Blaster:

Kai (TI 6815) (Big Thank you, Kai!) *done*

As tools I already have a lot of different blades (exacto knife included) and a (quite shucksty) dremel.

To glue the parts I will use E6000 (I will have to practise with that before I start).

Now to the parts I still need to research:

- I have now plan how to trim my armour, so I will have a look on this.

- The strapping is also a big point which needs to be discovered.

- Reference pictures should not be a real problem.

- And last but not least assembling the armour.

I hope you guys (and ladies) can support me with my tasks and I am looking forward to build this thing!

Greetings,

Felix

Felix, you´re on the right track :duim:

In a few years maybe I will follow you as a RotJ trooper. For the moment ANH and the TD are my only love

The RotJ E-11 could become a difficult one to build, because it is based on a different sterling version (the canadian MGC I think?!), than the L2A3 of the ANH version.

So a doopydoos kit could become a hard task to modify RotJ-style.

Look out for the hyperfirm version, but I don´t know if it is still produced..

Chelsea or jodhpur boots will be great.

Will be following closely here and on the GG forums.

Keep it coming young aspirant :salute:

At the GG there is a guy called "chachov" who actually built ROTJ E-11 blasters. I should as him if he still does

I will go with the jodhpur boots (found some on Ebay and painted white they are approved)

As already mentioned, I am not 18, so it will take some time until I am able to purchase the "expensive" stuff ;)

But I hope everything will be done until September.

Look closely on chachovs products. I know some members, who were neither satisfied with his product nor his service. Better search longer than pay twice.

You could try to get Kai in German Garrison to make a ROTJ blaster. It's not perfect but it's really hard to find a better one if you can't get a hyperfirm.

I talked to Kai and he would build me a blaster! (and it is way less expensive than I found before)

Now I can concentrate again on assembling (and my exams of course).

Edit: I still need that fire hose belt. Mark, do you have one of those so I can order them with all the other stuff?

Caution! Uptdate incoming!

To bring some life back to this topic:

Yes, I am still alive :)

and no, I have not given up.

The problem is, I am still in the middle of my finals and time is short for other stuff.

Hopefully all will be done by the end of the next week.
