Helmet paint question- Black gloss or matte

I searched through the threads and I'm sorry if its an obvious place...

 

Is the vocoder painted flat black or the same gloss as the stripes on the helmet?

 

What about the mic tips? Same gloss or flat?

I prefer satin on the vocoder, but many use gloss. The mic tips I would say flat.

Cool, was thinking satin would be nice. Dumb question, do they make satin enamels? Or is it some other type of paint?

Yeah, there is a satin humbrol enamel. I don't have the number in my head, but I have a tin at home. It's in their standard range and should be easy to get hold of if you have a humbrol vendor somewhere.

I do like the satin, on my blasters too, gives an new but old look if that makes sense

I painted mine flat black with a matte clear coat over it.

I paint mine satin black. The only place I use gloss is the pinstripe round the ears and the rank stripe on the ears.

Matte on both all the way. 2/3 testors flat with 1/3 testors gloss has always been my recipe.
