gmrhodes13[Staff]
Most armor these days is made out of ABS so you don't need to paint them. If you are looking at making a more screen accurate lid then you can spray it, I have seen airbrush and spray can both used but you may want to check with your GML to see if you can be approved with a painted lid. Can looking really nice if you paint all the different levels of paint and tape in places to give the look of chips. There is some info in this thread here. LadyInWhite[TK]
The details I do with a fine round brush and a small round brush. But the main white stuff is white already, and shiny.
Sonnenschein
IIRC, the origianls were spray painted (with a lot mof runs/noses). When the paint flaked, the were repainted with a brush with visible brush marks.
DudeSidious
I asume your talking about airbrushing the details, because thats what a airbrush does paints fine details, exp.airbrush art. I guess this would be ok for basic approvel but you would have to hand paint the details if you want to go for EIB and above.
Locitus[Admin]
Or at least appear hand painted. We do approve "hand painted look" decals. So if you want to airbrush your details, they need to emulate the sloppyness. (To some degree. The painters of the real helmets were very skilled).
