kevnaminute Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 I want to add the inner joining strips for stability... Does it matter what thickness ABS strip you use? In other words, should it be the same thickness as the cover strip? The reason I ask is I have a ton of left over plastic from trimming... Lots of it is thin though. Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 It's not required, the armour holds up just fine without it. So if you would add any inner strips, the thickness would not matter either. Quote
FunkyTrigger[TK] Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 It's not required to have inner joining strips but it doesn't harm and does contribute to making the armour closed parts stronger. I Would endorse it. Quote
Clamps[TK] Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 I did add inner strips mine. I used for sale sign material which is super thin but it held nicely. Did I need it?? I dunno, likely not...But being my first build I tried many things out along the way and this was one of those no harm items for me. Quote
captsafe66[Admin] Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 If you are going to Troop a lot, it will add to the durability and life of your armor. Quote
Tray[TK] Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 hell yes add the inner strips. Butt joining gives you half the gluing surface per side. It also doesn't hurt anything and will certainly give you more durability. Especially if you do anything other than stand around. Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 I use 1mm plastic for internal joining strips. Quote
