Hey all,

I was wondering what are some of the ways to make the ab buttons? I know there are sellers such as Vader Dave and Trooperbay, but I was wanting to make my own, I just dont know what to use for the rounded cap.... FYI I have an RT suit that has pre formed button-esque round ridges but really wouldnt look good painted. This is the last thing I need to do! Any ideas would be appreciated!

Please and Thanks!

the originals were vac-formed add-ons... post some pics of what you have already :)

If you still want to go another route, use chicago screws and paint them the appropriate colour.

What's wrong with them? I'm not sure I've ever seen an RT suit in person.

hey sorry, here is a pic of the ab plate. I may just go the chicago screw route, I think just painting the buttons the way they are wont come out too good. what do you guys think?-----------]

I have Vader Dave bottons on my RT ab and they're quite nice but I regret using them. But you can make your own. They're basically just Chicago screws.

The RT buttons are just as easy or hard to paint as any ab buttons on a screen derived ab.

Please just paint them. It'll look so much better.

Aloha,

Hmmm... I'll give that a go then! Lots of painters tape I assume. Should I be painting right to the end of the ridge, or should I make a smaller circle template to size them down a bit? Thanks for the replies guys!

Vader Dave's ab buttons were made mostly for the original FX suits. They came with big black buttons that were screwed in the same way as Dave's. He just made a set that was smaller and more accurate. With all of the new armor out there, the ab button plates are moulded and just need a little paint. :duim:

That's what I did recently. I'll post up a picture of them later today. They came out great. 11mm width of the buttons
