Rob .T .[TK]
Discount supermarket " Aldi " have chelsea boots in at the moment , at £ 14.99. (as of 11/11/2011) Theyre in black or brown , all adult sizes. They are a little broad in the toe area to be good Starwars replicas , but theyre cheap and available and better than the ones you cant buy Usually Aldi only keep a product on their shelves untill stock rums out , a couple of weeks at the most , so if you want a pair , be quick. Lets face it , at £14.99 theyre cheap enough just to practice painting white . ------- Edited January 17, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed

Rich330[TK]
There's a big f**k-off seam running from the top to the bottom of the boot, in front of the elastic. I think that's what he means. If they are not leather, you might also have a problem getting the white paint/lethaer dye to stick. Thanks for sharing Rob but my advice would be to search eBay for "jodphurs" in your size and you will very likely find something in better quality, in real leather, with a very similar shape for around the same price. TK bondservnt[501st]
you can paint vynal, leather and such with Angelus paints. then seal with clear gloss... even paints nylon elastic? -------- wont crack, scratch off. you have to prep the surface with prep, paint on, then seal. This stuff works fine if there's no direct friction. The one guy I know locally who had rubber boots painted with this stuff quickly had a huge gap in the paint where the bottom of the shin rubbed on the boot. It doesn't wear in that nice subtle way that paint on leather does either. It peels off and leaves a clean hole and a clear view of the original surface.
