My TK Armor Build

Recommended Posts

Yo!

Been getting back into my AP kit build lately. Seems that posting your progress is the right thing to do. :)

As you can see, all parts have been cut out. And I'm just gluing the big stuff together.

Still have a ways to go on these. Need to fix the gap at the bottom, and add the strips. Not sure if I need to fix the seems at the top, or what to do on the back yet. Nothing lines up on the AP kit... I just don't get it.

Looks awesome Jesse, nice work! Your work bench looks like mine!

It's actually my dining room table! LOL! My Wife is in Mertyl Beach with the kids this week, so I don't have to work in the basement, like I usually do. :)

I'm getting there! I'm trying this thing on the butt plate, that will hopefully keep it from overlapping the kidney plate. We'll see if it works.

LOOKS GREAT!!!!!! Keep us updated. Are going TD or TK?

I was having problems lining up my AP build myself. I just assembled my thighs last week.

I tried to line them up at the top. Thank God for ANH "Cover Strips" and Moddeling irons!

Ugh!! yeah, lot's of extra hills to climb on this kit. I was considering going TD... But I don't like the no strip look on the helmet. Maybe my next kit, I don't know? I bought the Sniper knee thing, and a pauldron... But I'm feeling rather indecisive on the subject. Probably just go with a TK for now.

Im about the same with my TK build. For my theighs I followed the smaller piece with a pencil & cut with all purpose scissors. Before I cut I made sure both theighs would be the same after the would be cut.

Today's progress...

Came home for lunch and worked on the ab buttons. I think I did them a little too big. But I still think they turned out ok.

web.jpg?ver=12717132190001

Let's see if this stuff works as well as they say it does...

web.jpg?ver=12717132490001

Cut out my shapes with an X-ACTO

web.jpg?ver=12717132260001

Chest done...

web.jpg?ver=12717345670001

Where was I?

web.jpg?ver=12717132760001

Ah yes... AB buttons! Let's start with the blue ones.

web.jpg?ver=12717132560001

M-Kay!

web.jpg?ver=12717133010001

Now the grey one's...

web.jpg?ver=12717133270001

Sweet! *cartman voice*

web.jpg?ver=12717345720001

What do you think... too big?

web.jpg?ver=12717345670001

More on the kidney/butt plate fix...

web.jpg?ver=12717133630001

Seems to work

web.jpg?ver=12717133720001

...

web.jpg?ver=12717133770001

Simple but affective! :D

web.jpg?ver=12717133820001

Painted the side rivets... Everyone was out of white one's.

web.jpg?ver=12717341180001

So that was at lunch!

Tonight's progress...

So God help me, or May The Force be with me... I've never sewn before!

web.jpg?ver=12717340370001

OK forget that... I can't work this thing!

web.jpg?ver=12717340450001

A quick test on the upper body...

web.jpg?ver=12717345670001

Still need to do some light sanding, and add the strips to my biceps

web.jpg?ver=12717340700001

...

web.jpg?ver=12717340960001

Side rivets look good...

web.jpg?ver=12717342500001

Holy straps!!

web.jpg?ver=12717346310001

Backside...

web.jpg?ver=12717346390001

So I didn't get as far as I had hoped tonight. I wasted too much time messing with that dumb sewing machine. Ugh!

This looks like it's coming together extremely nice, I like how accurate you're going along. All the little details incorporated!

The ab buttons are probably a tiny bit big like you said, but hey.
