  1. I've e-mailed TE to thank him for his work on this beauty and I let him know that it won't fit me. He's offered to make bigger appendage pieces for me that will fit. I'll measure myself up tonight for him and we'll see if he can make pieces that will allow me to wear this suit. I am still impressed with TE on this. Even though the armor is well out of his hands he's ready to make it right. That's good service.
  2. Alright, I'm finally home and I've pulled out all of the armor. I've examined everything and looked at what I need to do in order to make it wearable. There won't be any photos for a while. The entire suit needs to be strapped in order for it to be worn. There are some straps in there but not enough to make the suit wearable. It looks like I'll be heading for Spotlight for some black elastic. There are straps in there and so I need to look at it again in detail to see if it requires any additional strapping. And now the bigger issue... TE must have thought that I was an anorexic stick. I'm not that big of a guy, I don't think, but I'm too big to wear this suit as is. I can't slide the arms on, the thighs won't fit all the way up, and the only way the right calf will fit is to use gaffer tape to hold it closed. My left side muscles are atrophied because of my disability and yet even my left side is too big for the armor. That's unfortunate. I don't know if this can be modified or if I've simply got a beautiful set of display armor on my hands. Because as is, I simply can not wear this suit. If I can't do anything to make the kit fit it will become a brilliant display piece on a mannequin. I did want to wear it but I may not be able to do so.
  3. That was my observation. I can see a bit of painting of the lips but I also see a surrounding edge of unpainted white. I think it should all be black. Troopermaster showed you a RoTJ helmet with a fully painted black frown. Mine is painted in the same fashion: See how all of the lips are black up to their edge? That's what I was looking for on your helmet.
  4. MY ARMOR HAS FULLY ARRIVED!!! It's time to party! :dancing-trooper: This Bud's for you! The second and final box containing bits of my armor has been delivered. I'll be home in three short days and I'll get the strapping on this baby adjusted. And I'll set my brother in-law to work on my E-11. I did the hard part in finding everything. I'll let him put it all together.
  5. This is definitely an old thread. The guy that made this hasn't been on the forum for over a year. So I doubt that there will be a future run.
  6. Part of my armor has arrived at home in WA (Australia). When TE shipped the suit I was given two tracking numbers so I assume that there are two boxes. Box #1 arrived today and I assume that the second box (the one with the helmet in it) will be there in a day or two. Apparently the two boxes got separated somewhere along the way. I want the armor to be there before I head home in a few days and it looks like I'm getting my wish. *Here we go... the second box cleared Australian customs yesterday (the first one cleared two days prior). ** The second box is now at the post office (at nearly midnight local time). I think it will be delivered today.
  7. Congratulations! It's great to see another RoTJ EIB!
  8. As a devout student of the RoTJ build I can confidently say that you have met all of the RoTJ EIB standards. And I am pleased to see that you took the additional step of painting your boot soles white. That gets you bonus points. This is an easy EIB. You're aware of your E-11's front sight and it isn't an EIB requirement. And I know that you intend to change it.
  9. It's just not as deep as mine is. If you say it's painted I've no reason to doubt it. I can see it. I just expected it to be a bit more. The suit looks extraordinarily well done, though. I like that you painted your soles white. That's a good extra step to take. Now you're a Death Star RoTJ trooper. The shoulder straps worked out well, too. And we've already spoken about the front sight.
  10. It's looking very good. Is the frown painted enough? In your helmet close up I'm seeing some white on the upper lip of the frown. I thought it as supposed to be all black. The suit is looking really sweet, though. Good job.
  11. Mine just arrived today. They are a great-looking pair of boots. These will work well with my armor. No gloss and a comfortable fit. They only took two days to get here.
  12. My new pair of TK boots arrived today (TK Boots). I decided that I just don't want to take the risk that my DMs represent. I may well wear them for trooping sometimes but for 501st application purposes I'll use the TK boots. I do plan on painting the soles white, though.
  13. Very cool. Your shoulder straps will go on the same as mine, then. There's one definite way to see if they're long enough.
  14. YES!!! :dancing-trooper: Now that's how it goes! Very nice RoTJ, my friend. The trim looks very sharp and well done. That's two RoTJ troopers for Australia. How do you plan on attaching the shoulder straps?
  15. These look similar to how my decals are on my RoTJ helmet. For my decals TE cut the black areas out of the decals and then put the decals over black vinyl. This gives the decals a slight 3-D effect.
  16. How's this kit coming along? Any progress or is it carefully edging forward?
  17. Yes, definitely quick. I placed my order this morning and according to UPS the boots are due to be delivered tomorrow. Of course it helps that I'm staying relatively close to where the boots are shipped from.
  18. That's a great neck wallet (I own that very one). I used mine at C IV beneath my Jedi robes. I was um', undercover.
  19. I also heard from my brother in-law today. As soon as I get home he'll help me assemble and paint my E-11. Alright, so he'll be doing all of the work and I'll provide direction. I'm lucky that he's understanding of my disability.
  20. TK Boots responds very quickly to e-mail. I received multiple responses this morning as I inquired about my size availability and about processing my order. It was about $65.00, including shipping to a California address. Bloody sales tax.
  21. I plan on adjusting the strapping on the armor once both it and I are home. And there is also my E-11 to assemble and paint. I suspect that I'll be trying the armor on as soon as possible simply because I won't be able to help myself. I'm ready to fly home. It's a 21 hour journey that isn't terribly exciting but it's worth it to get back home. Since it was brought up a little earlier in this thread, I went ahead and bought a pair of TK boots. I do like my Dr. Martens but I decided that I don't want to risk Legion acceptance. I'll just paint the sides of the soles white to attain the RoTJ look that I like. And I will take pictures once I've adjusted the strapping.
  22. I received word from TE today. The suit has been shipped through the U.S. postal service. One week after the suit was finished and it's now making its way home. I'm grateful that TE has sent this on its way. I'm flying home to Australia in 11 days. The suit may or may not beat me home. If it gets there first I'll be a happy trooper. TE has done a fantastic job with this suit and he's been quite responsive as this suit neared completion and prepared for shipping. I'm grateful for all of the work he put into this suit and for his speedy shipping after it was completed. I'm really looking forward to getting this suit home.
  23. I think the big thing to keep in mind when applying the armor trim is to remember to cut the corners at 45 degree angles in those places where strips of the trim meet. That way you end up with a neat corner. Such as in the lower left or right corner of the chest plate I don't know if there is a "proper" place to start when applying the armor trim.
  24. I can see them.
  25. Whatever TE's plans are with TK armor, his efforts on the RoTJ version have certainly worked out well for me. I really like the idea of receiving an armor kit that doesn't require any modification in order to attain the look I want. It's a great convenience.
