Blast from the past time... I wore my TK for the first time in a LONG time a few days ago for friends of the family. They have a friend in Australia who has just completed an R2 build and is now embarking on a TK and they wanted to surprise him! Due to me playing in a very busy Brass Band, my trooping activities never really started but after donning the TK (despite being half a stone overweight!) I've got the bug and want to get cleared. I've shaped the shoulder straps and just need to install the ROM/FX and helmet fans. I just need to find a decent photographer (my 9 year old, who you can see in the last pic needs practice!) and go for the final push for clearance. I've got a (very rare) free weekend this coming weekend and I'm looking forward to working on the armour again! Ian.

Well, here is the first test fitting of my completed TK. I'm sure the Death Star was built quicker than my armour... ;-) I realised quite early on that the elastic holding the shoulder bells was too short so the shoulder bells kept rolling back, so that's fix number one. Fix number 2 is the bridge from the chest to the rear piece, although i tried fixing the bridge to the rear with white elastic (screen accurate and all that!) but it looks like the hairdryer will be out again. I haven't spotted anything else too obvious but please highlight any glaring errors. (Some tighter elastic at the top of the kidney/ab section maybe?) It has been quite a challenge for me, my DIY skills (as my wife would testify!) are virtually non existent, coupled with mild OCD and a hectic music schedule have led to a slower build. Some parts have been most enjoyable, some less so. From the nervousness of that first cut into White plastic, the sheer frustration of sometimes getting parts to fit together to the elation of completion (for me it was painting the ranking stripes on the helmet!). My son broke our digital camera so I didn't take as many pics as I'd have liked. There are plenty of progress pics on my Flickr page. This was the first test fitting of my armour back in September at my daughters birthday party, DJ Stormtrooper for one night only! I have to thank my daughter for taking my pics yesterday! I'm looking forward to trooping someday soon! Ian

Splendid, thanks Mark. I have seen other build where belt's have been bent permanently but I must admit to being glad not to point the hair dryer in anger again. Finally riveted the Sniper plate on today, there were some choice words before I finally finished I can tell you! Cheers, Ian

I'm tackling the belt today, judging by your pics Mark, you fire up the hair dryer (I don't have a heat gun!) to create the bend after riveting the canvas belt? Ian

It's a shame but I understand why you do it. I came to the thread late and was one to carry it on for which I apologize. I think this thread has been refreshing however and your images are excellent references. (btw, all the pics from your first build have disappeared?) No doubt this will always be the best option when wishing to look at making comparisons between different builds. I'm looking forward to seeing a TM "in the flesh" as it were, later in the year! Steady on Paul, there's no need to be rude. As I stated in my post, I can see the difference in the shades of white, the TM being a more creamy white. This is purely my personal observation on the pictures that have been posted in this thread. Ian

You mention that every AP has a blueish tint but when I compare it to the white sections of the background of these very pages, the AP more closely matches it, whereas the TM has a more creamy white quality to it. Rich's pics are taken in (I'm assuming) excellent light conditions, but then again, I do live in Manchester and we don't get to see much sun! I'm only judging from the comparison pictures that I've seen here, but all I can say is thanks to a great thread TK Bondservnt 2392, Rick330's pics and to both AP and TM, keep up the good work! Ian
