  1. I've fully trimmed and assembled kits ready to wear in a week. It's very hard work I won't lie, but it can be done when the pressure is on.
  2. Definately leave it as it is Mark! I wouldn't touch a thing if that was my armour. Should look even better after a few more troops
  3. You must have dreamt it. No flexible TM armour has been offered yet.
  4. Nope. I'm talking about the little square rivet covers on the belt. For ROTJ, the plastic ammo belt was riveted straight through the webbing belt and abdomen plate at each end only, not in the middle. Only ANH and ESB troopers had these rivet covers on their belts and they were not permanently attached to the abdomen plates. Instead, they were held on with snaps and could be removed from the armour.
  5. I've been looking at your photos again Allan and noticed another inaccuracy - belt rivet covers! The ROTJ troopers didn't have these at all, only ANH and ESB. Matt is the trooper expert
  6. Your totally wrong about that mate!
  7. That's good to hear Joe
  8. No, not that one. The photo's where the two troopers are with Vader in the streets of London. Those two are SF helmets and dated 1980. The trooper on the right next to Vader in the ESB photo with the red background is most definately an ROTJ/SF helmet, no question in my mind. The fact that it has grey teeth makes no difference to my eyes, though I can see why it would be misleading. One of the troopers with Vader in London 1980 also had grey teeth while the other had black. I'd say that these are most likely the same helmets.
  9. An SF helmet is seen in ESB and photographed in 1980, a couple of years before ROTJ was made, so it stands to reason that the SF helmets were made first. I would say that there should be no difference externally if smooth and haircell ABS were pulled over the same mould. Two reasons spring to mind why one would be softer in appearance- thicker plastic or recast mould. I tend to think the latter here but without having the different helmets in my hands I couldn't possibly say for sure.
  10. If both helmet types feature the same tells on the inside but look slightly different from the outside (more wonky/softer) then it's possible the RF is a recast of the SF. We know the SF helmets were made first, that's a fact, so it's quite feasible to say the later RF are recasts made for Jedi as only a few are believed to have been made. Also, I suggested that the SF helmets were made for ESB and not used exclusivley in ESB as stated earlier. I see no reason why they were not reused for ROTJ
  11. Unless you bought that helmet as a second, I would get my money back. The folds/webbing in the plastic are inexcusable. The guy obviously has no idea how to pull plastic.
  12. These are my favourite stunt helmets with three teeth
  13. I've heard that speach from someone on here too
  14. AP arms are the same for both sides, which are a mix and match of left and right pieces. No point sending anything back, that's how they are.
  15. That's why I keep stressing for people to use elastic everywhere! There is no need to use webbing or canvas for straps, just elastic The drop boxs are just cosmetic add-ons and hang there doing nothing. Strap them up with elastic and forget about them.
  16. The one inch strap length is a total myth. There should be hardly any of the strap showing and ou need to get your drop boxes up close to the belt. Use 20mm wide white elastic, not black, and try and keep them so that they are flush with the end of the belt too. This is for ANH and ESB only. ROTJ had the boxes hanging down about one inch, maybe more, and they were attached differently too.
  17. If your happy with everything, that's fine. Just don't expect to see any suits on screen like yours. What Matt sees and what Matt gives are two different things. I have pointed out the inaccuracies to help you make your kit look like it was seen on screen but if your not interested, I'll keep my opinions to myself <_<
  18. I don't have any photos, sorry. Are you not familiar enough with armour to spot the difference between left and right armour pieces?
  19. All I can say is treat this armour as you would any other ABS kit. It's rigid plastic, not rubber. It just bends without cracking. It's not flimsy, it gives you armour bites, what more could you ask for? It's ten times better than ANY other HIPS or Styrene armour out there for durability and accuracy, so if's that's not enough for you then look elsewhere.
  20. Most of that armour is original ANH, including the helmet. Why it's a ssembled the way it is, is anyone's guess but there is no doubt in my mind that it's genuine armour. The biceps and forearms are junk, I can't identify them, but the shapes of the rest of the kit is 100% original ANH. It's possible this is a lesser suit and could have been used in the background I don't know, I never really looked into it.
  21. If you swapped the shins over and attached the knee plate to the other shin, they would be assembled correctly. I see it all the time with the shins. They put a correctly assembled right shin on the left leg, AA does exactly the same thing.
  22. No white rubber edging trim? Get some thin black elastic for the shoulder bells and attach it about two inches from the bottom of the bells. The elastic should not be seen on ROTJ armour. Also, pad out the shoulder bells if the do not already hang off the shoulder once you attach the new elastic (make it loose). Someone should let Matt (or whoever assemmbles these) know that they are assembling the shins all wrong. They are putting the right shin on the left leg and attaching the knee plate. The doubled up part should be on the left leg, not the right. Just trying to help
  23. The only part that really flexes when you bend down is the cod piece, simply because this is a one piece abdomen plate. It DOES leave a crease mark on the strip of the cod plate, but that's it, no cracks. I have no idea how long it will withstand that kind of abuse, though I will make another ab plate and do some testing on it. Every other part will flex all day long, it's just because of the adbomen shape that this is the only part leaves a slight crease. I already said that I haven't formed a helmet yet, so I can't say what they look like. All plastics are prone to colour changes over the years as they break down. I am not a plastic specialist but, I do know that most (if not all) plastics yellow over time. How long it takes to start showing any signs of yellowing is anyone's guess.

    Boots

They look better than caboots to me! 'IF' anyone is able to get a boot manufacturer to make custom trooper boots then I would be happy to supply a pair of original brand boots to duplicate, as long as they are returned in the same condition they were received.
