I'm a little over 5'5" - 150lbs - Granted I'm a guy, but I'm short - and it fits me great!
-
I did the same! I bought FX - put it all together...and was quite unhappy with it. About a month after I assembled it, I went a bought another set of armor... Granted FX looks horrible on a 5'6" guy like myself... And to get back on topic - I don't think you can reshape those bells to put a swoop in them... I think it will help to look better if you trim them and round the corners...

Hengstler requirement
ItsThatGuy replied to carbonitekid's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
It was make-up - you see it on his and Han's suit a few times in different places on the chest plate... one scene you will see it the next it's rubbed off. Watch closely before they jump into the compactor. -
My CO always uses the visual dictionary terms to explain stuff - like what I call ears he calls communications relays (or something like that)... I can't stand the visual dictionary terms Here's my theory - The "armor" never protected a TK from anything (blaster fire, rocks, spears, arrows...nothing...that much we do know from the movies)... There were no visual aids to help you see in the helmet (as the visual dictionary discribes) "I can' see a thing in this helmet!" Luke also still needed to use a Commlink to talk to 3PO... Also what did Luke say to Leia -- "huh?..Oh..you mean the uniform" TK armor was just a scary looking uniform - not armor for protection... Also - to further disporve the "energy sink" theory - Why didn't any of the Sandtroopers have them? I guess the Empire wanted them to die...?

Oh, man I wish I could be there to see what you have to say! EDIT!!! Sorry WRONG TOPIC!!! Sorry again!!!

Opinions on helmet interiors
ItsThatGuy replied to TK-9805's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Either you sprayed it too thick or didn't clean the resin properly before hand. You have to make sure all the releasing agent is off. I always use Dawn soap on my resin pieces and the give 'em a quick scrubbing with a tooth brush, then rinse them very well. Then hand dry them with a towel and let them sit and dry for a while before I do any painting. I also use Rust-oleum Auto Primer on them first - great stuff and drys fast (10 - 15 minutes). -

Yeah, Magic eraser is the best! It gets those nasty black scuffs off the bottom of your calf peices like a dream! Plus I carry two blasters that have been painted (E-11 and MG-34) and both like to rub off on some places... So it helps remove that too... and other hard to get stains and marks -
Can you post that link, please?

OK - I used Goof off - That stuff melted my helmet - I am not sure about Goo Gone... Sorry for the mix up! -
Take a look at the ORIGNAL ANH moulds
ItsThatGuy replied to TreeHead's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
This SDS issue should be dead in the water by now. SDS is not using the original moulds - He claims they are 1) to get more money for his products and 2) so he can claim "rights" to make castings from them without LFL breathing down his neck. But LFL did already go after him and sued the pants of off AA- and that is why it's difficult to get SDS stuff here in the States... -
For what he called a 1st generation - the pull around the eyes aren't very sharp, and the back pull (around the "neck tube") is just horrible. Oh well - For what it's worth, I tried to buy a Hero from him last year (around this time), but he wouldn't sell one to me... I guess my references didn't check out... ...

Goo Gone will eat the plastic! At least it did on my helmet. I used a NON-acetone finger nail polish remover - also Mr.Clean's Magic Eraser works great too! -
Completely Confused Noob

I had a FX set, then bought a more accurate set (a couple months later). I plan to upgarde to a TM one of these days. -
Completely Confused Noob

Wow...loaded question... are you really asking which one is better than the other? If so, I'm stearing clear of that one. -
That thing is just plain ugly. Yeah - the dome is crazy tall on it, can't stand those eyes either. I've seen a few SDS Battle specs in person, and they were pretty bad looking, but most of the people that buy them buy-in to AA's lies about them being cast off of the original moulds. One day people will realize they aren't...they are nothing more that just over priced helmets... The fact that they are made by Andrew Ainsworth means NOTHING. BTW - there's a "New FX" when did I miss that?

The ROTJ was not symmetrical... ? You sound like my CO - he always says it should be symmetrical because that's how the Emperor would have made his army...or something stupid like that...
-
Look at the very top of the page, then look directly under "Unquestioned Loyalty" on the grey bar - where it tells you "Logged in as"... My Controls option is there.
-
Wow - that's actually a really light helmet.... is is stuffed with voice amps and what-not?
-
If you are not able to find it in Singapore, let me know, maybe I could help out (worst case senario).
-
What type of helmet are you wearing? Never had that problem with my TK bucket or my old fiberglass Boba helmet...
-
my only concern is - isn't the ANH2 made of fiberglass? Are there any large buckets that are ABS and still accurate?
