  1. I need to fill in mine as well (since apparently I need to be a size 20 waist to fit this thing as it comes). My question is will this be acceptable for elite status? The way the requirement is worded I get the impression you should only have one visible seam, where the two plates meet. Doing it this way (or any other way I've seen) shows 2 seams on each side. Verdict?
  2. I just got my kit and I'm working on it. I noticed the "butt" of the suit appears to have a seam on it. Is that where I cut it to separate for Elite Status? Also, where is the front cut? It doesn't appear marked.
  3. So did I count 3 mag pouches on those? It looks like one on the shoulder and one on each hip.
  4. From the CRL: "The earpiece should have the raised rectangle painted grey with 3 (ANH hero) or 4 (ANH, ESB, ROTJ) ridges. " The MRCE helmet comes with ears that have 5 ridges (one black and 4 grey). I haven't seen anything in my searching for MRCE mods that say this isn't going to be acceptable. Does anyone have a definative answer as to whether or not I'm going to have to change these to get accepted?
  5. That sounds like a pretty good idea. Will it just work with one other paired device, or multiples? How much do these run? Do you have a link? I have a bluetooth for my phone, but have no idea where I'd put a blackberry, or how to answer it without removing either the helmet or the phone from wherever it's stashed.
  6. Out of curiosity, is the phone set to "vibrate"? Brings a whole new meaning to "pleasure mode"... sorry, couldn't resist!
  7. It might be pricey, but if the resin doesn't work you could always put a grip assembly from a real sterling on there. I've seen them at gun shows for about $50.
  8. Can you mill resin? I don't think it responds well to power tools. I expect you'd have to drill a hole near the top to put a pin through to make the trigger pivot. You'll need to hollow out behind where the trigger sits to put in the switch, as well as a path for the wiring to pass through the grip into the reciever. I don't know how it will react to drilling though.
  9. Is it like a flat 2D cutout of a person, or more "shapely"? Can you take a pic next time you take it off there? That's probably cheaper than buying an actual mannequin.
  10. Have you experimented to try to use multiple layers of canvas instead of the elastic? I guess that would be 4 layers of canvas. I picked up some white denim to try this with. Just waiting for my belt to show up to start.
  11. Well, I got impatient (meaning my wife wanted the table cleaned off). I went with 14, and it looks pretty good (I think).
  12. lovely! It looks like they should cover the entire tube (whatever fits anyway). Is this correct?
  13. I have an ANH stunt bucket, and am about to stripe it. How many does it have? I've seen 13 and 16 (and even one with 15 on one side and 16 on another). Is there a firm number, or do I just do it until it looks right?
  14. What does it look like without the armor? I've been thinking about something like that. I've also though about checking out some of these stores going out of business where I might be ablr to pick one up on the cheap.
  15. My suit was ordered today, and should be here in about a week. IF I could get it up and ready quickly, and get it approved on the following Saturday (April 4th) I could actually get TK 4409 (which is still available!) Won't happen that fast, but wouldn't that be cool?
  16. Does adding snaps to armor visibly increase the thickness of the gap? I see various opinions of snaps versus glue, and it seems to my newb logic that snaps would produce a gap.
  17. What does hasbro make that you're gonna make into a launcher?
  18. Mine took about a week and a half. I wouldn't panic (yet).
  19. I'm trying to figure out how to cram fans into my bucket now. I did the wiring for the voice amp, 2 battery packs, a control box, 2 speakers and 2 fans, but now I'm trying to figure out where to put the fans since my padding is nice and comfy.
  20. Then again, you could just park a Death Star next to them... I'd behave if I thought my planet was gonna be vaporized.
  21. I can't wait for that feeling myself. Soon it will be ours... soon...
  22. I can only see the top one. Can you make this bigger?
  23. Ah, well, that changes things then. I guess it still depends on the objective. Worlds like Hoth wouldn't need much of an assault force or garrision, where as someplace heavily populated would take massive orbital devastation to force the population into submission. It would also depend on how resistant the current population was. Someplace with a strong individualist society like in the Corellian system would probably be much harder to take and hold than those wussy Alderaanians.
  24. I guess it depends on what your objective is, and how "moral" you are. You could always use a viral or chemical weapon to wipe out most life, if you're only going for resources. For ground assault, it probably wouldn't be that bad for the attacker. Look at most scenarios where a more advanced force has attempted it. Technology usually wins out, unless you are WWII Russians against Germans, or Bugs from Starship Troopers. Theoretically, an invading extra-terrestrial force would be several tech-generations ahead of us. Shields, energy weapons, maybe even some kind of psy-weapon. They could establish a shielded foothold and just move out at thier leisure.
