  1. Will I need to reshoot the pics for the straps and drop boxes, since they just velcro in place? The blaster t-tracks will be done by monday, hopefully.
  2. Thanks guys. The shoulder straps and drop boxes are secured with velcro, so they just need to be repositioned if they are off. Where do I put additional T-tracks on the blaster?
  3. Yeah, it was rolled up under the elastic for the handplate, and I couldn't tell with my bucket on.. My wife was taking the pics and doesn't really know what to look for.
  4. Ok, round 2. Forget you ever saw those hideously lighted shots. The suit is an FX with an MRCE bucket. The ab buttons have been replaced with VaderDave's. I made the neckseal, belt and holster. The sides are closed off with ABS. The lenses in the bucket are thick flat greens gotten from Smitty. Boots are basic Johdpurs painted white, for that "screen accurate" look (meaning the paint keeps cracking!) I'm sure I'm forgetting something. The buttplate slipped on this one, but obviously it's cut! You can see the foam in my bicep slipped out here. It's still got the blinky lights and sound You can see the lenses are green here. They are quite dark, the light must have been turned up. Please, comments are welcome!
  5. Chatterbox makes good stuff. I have one of thier FRS X2 setups on my bike helmet.
  6. I did mine without repainting (much). I had to paint where I filled the crack, but it did not need a total repaint. When you redo the stripes, use magic eraser. It will take those stripes right off. (scary stuff!)
  7. Brilliant! Who'd have thought to use the FX bucket as luggage? I have an MRCE with electrics,so I don't think I'll be doing that part. I'll give it a shot as soon as I get home.
  8. Ok, so I just picked this tub up today, and am wondering how to get everything in here. I've got the nesting parts in (forearms -> biceps -> shins -> thighs), but it still seems to stack too high with the chest and back. Does the bucket, blaster and boots actually fit in here? Someone mentioned a video on the main 501st board showing how to do this, but the link doesn't work.
  9. Don't touch it? Sorry, couldn't resist. Smitty is pretty good with electric circuits, if I remember right. You might PM him.
  10. Awesome! I did my inner barrel with a piece of narrower tubing held in place by washers and screws. The washers are roughly the size of the inner diameter of the main tube. I ran a 3" bolt through the washer at the muzzle end, secured it with the appropriate sized nut, and slipped that into the inner barrel. At the other end I build a bolt out of PVC that was the same size as the washers, and mounted another bolt the same way, inserted into the other end of the inner barrel. Tension from the big spring at the rear holds everything in place. I'll see if I can sketch up a drawing so you can see what I mean.
  11. So the vinyl worked good then? That would be a good way to "paint" your armor without it being permenant.
  12. Congrats! Sounds like there was something in the water about 9 months ago with all of you "expecting"!
  13. If you do visit in the hospital, it HAS to be in armor!
  14. That is so cool! Guess I know what I'll be doing during my conference calls this afternoon...
  15. I ordered 2 1240's. I wonder if I can cut them down with a dremel to make them narrow enough.
  16. Can someone post a pic of how (and where) the proper position for mounting the Tandy clips onto the TD is? Mine showed up the other day, and they are bigger than the part that attaches to the belt. I was wondering how other folks did this. Thanks!
  17. Thank you! I noticed my sidebar says "501st Member" not Stormtrooper. Did my TK not work right? It was just granted this afternoon.
  18. TK 5625 reporting, requesting 501st access, Sir! http://www.501stlegion.org/members/display...hp?userID=10557
  19. If you're just starting and don't have anything yet, try GIMP. It's free and has alot of the functionality you'll find in the others. http://www.gimp.org/
  20. I got an e-mail from CAboots yesterday saying that they hope to be better stocked by the end of the summer. They have select sizes available now, but I have small feet and need to wait
  21. Welcome back! I was just reading through your stuff earlier today. Hope everything worked out for the best.
  22. Interest thread is up. I figure $6 shipped should cover postage, packing and paypal to anywhere in the US.
