  1. If you guys try anything with a portapottie I'm checking myself out at the door.
  2. Here is a unique take on Armor storage versus the typical oversided tubs. Looks to works well for non airline required travel. Check out Dagobah swamp:-----------
  3. He should add a helmet strap for future flips. That way the helmet stays on.
  4. Crazy but funny. That armor must have pinched the heck of out him.
  5. Looking forward to reading and watching your progress
  6. Yeah, I like how 5/6 of the outfit is the same. Its all about how you "see"...
  7. Team, Our Sergeant at Arms Carlos has created an animated banner GIF file for usage in SIG files. Please point your html market to the following URL: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php...=post&id=61 or directly reference the GIF file at: http://www.whitearmor.net/uploads/wan_sig.gif Please, use the GIF and advertise our group to our sister sites! The Command Staff of your proposed Stormtrooper detachment will sincerely appreciate it! Regards, Ed
  8. Troopermaster is of course very correct. I committed to the glueing option early which worked well for my forearms and biceps. However, I didn't measure the thigh well enough and I'm still swimming in them a bit. I've read on several different sites that if you can glue the forearms together then you have less risk of ripping up your undersuite. Unless as Carlos noted you very carefully trim the velcro. Jaida, does this help and answer your question?
  9. That's why I'm working on a AP helmet. I look more like your avatar in real life that a trooper.
  10. The latest Secrets of Star Wars '07 on Hyperspace features a great picture of "new boys in white." The caption below it says: "An uncertain era produces a number of specialized Imperial forces." If you have access I suggest you check it out...

If only for the fact I am a collecting fool did I pick up yet another copy of the movies I have in all sorts of ... formats.
  12. Hey Carlos, are you in thinking about TK BIG armor?

    DVD's

So, who picked up their DVD's today? I purchased a set at Target and I found a the tin set at Best Buy. Now, to find time to play the new Lego Star Wars game.
  14. And if you have any questions ask before you glue / rivet / paint anything. We are here to help!
  15. Thanks for all the warm responses. At this point I'd say the first logo for the "First Imperial Stormtrooper Corps" aka Stormtrooper Detachment is closed and completed. Thanks for all of those who provided feedback and suggestions.
  16. If you would prefer to purchase a complete kit and save the time wiring it up, the voice amp kit from skullworx is really good. I have it in my FX bucket and I would recommend it, even though it is a tad expensive. The trade off is wire it yourself or purchase the complete kit (I went the kit route)... Thx, Ed
  17. I believe that makes them easier to put on via a twisting motion. The buttons for a TK are push in and a pain. I had wished the TK black butttons where threaded.
  18. I believe AP is still investigating options and appreciating the comments as he wants to make the suit both desirable and continue his reputation. Thx, Ed
  19. Posted on the 501stforums, a great idea from tk4626. "just a suggestion for mounting the mouth and ear pieces on your tk buckets. I screwed a bolt through a bit of abs and glued it in side each piece to make mounting posts, drill corresponding holes and attatch with a nut. these pieces are fully removeable if need be at a later date and wont pop off during a troop"
  20. Here's an update from AP: " [snip] PVC might not be for sure the material we will use, we are still in a plastic testing stage. We received many emails asking what is PVC (Polivinyl Chloride) Check this link for different type of plastics and applications. http://www.midlandplastics.com/srtd_pvc.htm Flexible PVC is one type of plastic we are planning to use, but we will test many other plastics. We will do many test pulls using different type of plastics in the .60 gauge range, varying from PVC, Styrene ect...You can rest assured that we will use the most durable and flexible plastic possible to meet our standards. We guarantee you will get the best quality product for the money. "

  22. After reading a comment from a member on a sister board, I thought I would offer up this post. As the FX instructions in the FX kit are shall we say lacking, how did you build your armor? I spent quit a bit of time researching and found various websites for suggestions and improvements to the kit. There should be a master list of links (I'll double check after I finish this). A did receive a good piece of advice, "measure twice cut once." You don't really think about it until you start trimming for a good fit and oops you cut too far or at the wrong angle. Another good piece of advice, ditch the velcro that comes with the kit. It won't hold. Take a trip to Home Depot / Lowes etc and purchase industrial strength velcro. Secondly, glue as much as you can for an overall stronger hold. Examples, I glued my forearms and thighs together. My calfs and glue the front and run a strip of industrial velcro down the back. Rivets are great to hold the ammo boxe and plate on the thighs. Another small investment (or borrow one). Examples: http://tk861.com/armor_tips/armorcaveat.html#Mods http://www.multiplehat.com/whitearmor/mods.htm Also, I would personally recommend not using velcro to hold and assemble the suit (together). I experimented and implemented a snap system with webbing and elastic to wear the suite. Great tutorials and implemenation at http://www.tonybarnett.plus.com/tutorial.htm Lastly, the helmet. This took me as long as the entire suit. I would build this last and take even more time. Cutting out and painting the teeth is a pain but as you will find from reading is a must for realism. Then adding a screen behind, paintining the chin, ear caps and then putting the whole thing together. This is a thread on its on. PM me with any questions or add to thread. Thx, Ed
  23. This happens to be my next big mod as I am also a 32 waist. I'm going to make a more realistic belt with white canvas. As irony would have it, my wife wanted a sewing machine. As I bought the thing for her she is excited to make me a belt. Then I will tackle the swimming in the armor problem by using the "extra" abs from my old belt. I have already been thinking about heating it etc. Now, I do know of at least two guys in the Golden Gate Garrison that have done this. I'll contact them and ask they join and add their wisdom! Thx, Ed
  24. Team, As we now have the official detachment name the logo has been created to follow along with the theme of our name and of what this group represents. The intention of the Stormtrooper logo is to draw upon that the Stormtrooper is the primary military force of the Empire. This military is rich in tradition and history and thus is very symbolic. The symbolism of the detachment logo draws upon this history from the original concept of the Stormtrooper to the evolution of clone trooper to Stormtrooper. I am very pleased this logo and I hope the team is as well as this is our logo. Please feel free to comment (either PM or on this thread). Many thanks to our 501st LCO for his graphic talents in taking the vision and making it into reality (thank you again M'Lord!) I present to you the (proposed) Stormtrooper Detachment logo: Thx, Ed TK4878 XO Stormtrooper Detachment
