  1. Very nice man. I am..as we speak drilling the ears out. I'm scared to death I'm gonna go too far. I just bought the angled hand drill so the battery isn't quite ready and keeps dyin' on me. I guess I can always mold the hole later if I do go through right? Oh by the way...are the flat head screws on the sides of the ears painted or did they come white already?
  2. Ok...back to the tube stripes. You said you kept the ones it came with? I thought those weren't 501st approved. Also, are you raising the brow for the "move along" TD style and do you just pull it off or is there more to it?
  3. What brand hard hat liner did you get and where did you get it? Also, what number testors white did you use? Thanks man.
  4. Hey bud, I'm going to be doing the exact same thing to mine this weekend. I have been told to get something that won't be too hot....if you're going with the padding. Otherwise you can get a softball batters helmet for about $10 and remove the insides and IS velcro it to the inside of your helmet until it fits right. Or some guys are using hard hat liners. I think I'm going to try the batters helmet approach first. Somewhere on here someone was selling Knee pads that looked pretty cool. They can be cut and positioned how you need them for support. I think they're from the UK though so it might take a while to get to the states. Sorry if I wasn't much help.
  5. Yeah I heard that too. I sure hope so. I don't want to screw it all up and not be able to fix it . I also heard that you can use white caulking and then paint it with glossy white testors model paint so it's super shiney and crap doesn't stick to it. :-)
  6. So the caulk will look better painted than say just white silicon?
  7. This was the way to mod the MRCE I was hoping someone would post. So caulk, then gloss white paint on the ears and the frown seam?I'm afraid to cut the ears too. Any tips?
  8. Are you referring to the little seam up to the eye? If so, then I don't think I will. I'm going to try my hand at the main seam this weekend. I hope mine comes out looking as good as yours did.
  9. Yep that's where I got mine. Arrived today from Star World Toys on ebay for $99 plus shipping. Very quick shipping.
  10. Thanks man. :-)
  11. Anyone know where I can get the wal-mart voice changer? I can't seem to find it anywhere since it's not halloween anymore.
  12. Looks good. I heard you can use the abs polish to clean up any mistakes after it has dried. I'll be doing the same to mine soon as well.
  13. Hey guys...my MRCE is in the mail as we speak. This will be my first helmet, so I plan on modding it as well for 501st entry. I've pretty much covered the basics for the mod. New tube stripes, screws in the ears and underneath near the neck, darker lenses and fill the gap in the chin. I also will be adding fans, speakers and new padding inside. Any suggestions as to where to get those and if they will fit ok compared to the FX helmets?
  14. MRCE on Ebay for $99 plus shipping.
  15. You should look into the MRCE helmet as well. It will look better on the smaller frame of a woman. Just my two cents.
