Nathan I see what you're saying and again I say that the Trash Compactor is clearly not about LFL. It is an in-community issue. TE making that video blunder is TEs problem. Lucasfilm are not so dumb that they couldn't acquire armour from any seller and take them apart. When Museum Replicas finally produces a retail set, they may just do that and this is a discussion for another thread. Transparency about the recast debate/argument starts when we leave the 'posts that start fights' as they are and move the threads here. That way everyone knows who said what, unless, of course, they edit their own posts and that will also speak volumes. I see no good reason to allow unruly children to draw on the walls of our house with their crayons and not be given a time-out. I may have overstretched that analogy a little; unruly children = flaming-recast threads... Ah, you get it!

The alternative is just let all the recast threads fire blunderbuss stylee all over the boards, exploding at regular intervals, leaving the staff to run about cleaning up the mess. Leaving new members upset and confused as to what's causing such contentious posts and arguments. At least here, the explosions are contained and everyone knows what to expect when they walk in the door of the Trash Compactor. Also, there's no need to blame 'the leadership' in totality, Mike; I take full responsibility for this proposal and action.

This forum isn't about LFL rights. It's about making informed choices about where and who you get your armour from. This forum is here for all to see, so they know exactly what the recast debate is and what it's about warts and all. This forum is here because our hand was forced by the recent upsurge in recast producers and their supporters. If you don't like, or understand what we're trying to do, then please feel free to use all the other boards and forget to check this one.

I have SDS I love the look and am not ignorant of it's twisted history (I was when I purchased it). I have a 2005 suit with a battlespec bucket of the same year and I have to say, this stuff is thick and it's very durable. I do hear complaints that it's now thin in places and doesn't hold up to trooping. The lid is wonky on one side, but not like I have heard others complain of more recent pulls.

You're right Mark, however Marco (thon2009) is promoting PT: And even more blatantly, this from Andreas (TK-7828): Should we, ask them nicely to stop promoting the PT unauthorised recast? I suspect the reply would make colourful, if brief reading. At that point another sanction would be called for.
