  1. Yes, yeees! Can it be done? Good idea dude I'm on it! I don't think it'll get the shape correct both side though Ian. the trouble is it has too many curves on it
  2. Hello there! Does anyone have a good tip for making sure the ear antenna intercom things on the side of our heads get cut out so they fit nice and snug on our lids......no gaps! I've stuck my new ones on (I've vac formed my own and made switched inside them ) but want this to look sopt on as it's a SDS hero lid. Any pointers? When I can get this right I plan to pass on my good owrk to others in need of quick easy access switches So please help me help you. LOL
  3. Thinking about it further you could actually use a cloth and flat rare earth magnets to help you as a guide too? I own ones that that 2 inches long, so perfect! These could just be placed on either side and use the sticker as your guide for the magnet edge and away you go I may try this myself now
  4. Great work I'm tempted I really am. For this to work it needs to be so spot on. I'd suggest a metal stopping bar stuck inside to help you get the cuts all the same length. Stop when it reaches the bar. I have few lids in kit form and can easily make a new top dome so I may give this a go too Summer lid! Can I post these pics up on the UKG board to gauge an opinion dude?
  5. Welcome dude! Ooh good luck on the space TK. If you mean the tractor beam ones, you'll be hard pressed to find a good close up of the tanks etc. I'm hoping the new making of star wars book reveals a little more about them. My current (waiting on the back burner project) is the space TK. I have bottles, hoses and grey webbing etc just need a good, good. good view of the backpack so I can complete it properly.
  6. Take the nut/bolt out and see how far it can go down. Like people have said it 'feels' like it's bottomed out but that's the whole idea of them. They lock Work out how far it goes down and then you'll see. In theory the nut should go down to the bolt Ian's suggestion of washers is a good un too
  7. Was it a claymoth that got stuck on the mould? The moths that live on clay? If you're so smart do you mind telling me what the backpacks used on the TKs in the falcon/death star tractor beam sequence looks like?
  8. Welcome Vash. I'm not sure if you want to add to the suit or trim it down? You can only add to the suit in terms of adding a shim to make the tubular parts wider of by glueing on the edges of the natural seams on the mnoulds to try and add a little that way. You can cut the pieces down yes but if you're 6ft and he was 5.8 there probably isn't much need too? Maybe drop the thigh piece box down a little and the sniper plate up if you have a large gap where your knees are but aprat from that you should be ok....? Hope it works out for you John
  9. Not bad! I'd get those babies but if you're in no rush I'll be sculpting a set this weekend hopefully. You're not the 1st to ask for em
  10. Hey good work dude.
  11. Ah ok, cool. I shall pick his brains a little more next time. Should be interesting. I'll have to think of original ways of asking him the same questions. Richard LeParmentier is a jolly chap isn't he? He came over to the dressing area to show us his Death Star 'last supper' type play set. He loved it and was totally beaming. Must be a nice feeling
  12. Out of interest.....on Brian's stand he had no mention of TK armour displayed but quite happily displayed the fact the sculpted Vader's stuff. Now if he displays that, why not display his TK role too Thing is I was in armour so didn't study his desk just noticed his Vader involvment advertisment Did anyone else in MEM see him display his TK involvement. All very puzzling. I'm gonna cry
  13. Clever boy! Great idea. Black tight behind that, paint the insides black, no one will know I think Darth Nickel asked this on therpf too? There I suggested maybe cutting out behind our ear antenna and using a gap in the gap of them to help with air flow. In/out Loving this mod though. clever stuff
  14. Bugger! I take it you spoke to Brian at MEM this weekend Paul? I was there and spoke to him too. He is a nice chap and loved our armour but I had no idea he sculpted the kit or I would have picked his brains too Not very easy chatting with a static burst going off all the time. Didn't know you were there or I would have tried to seek you out. Interesting post
  15. Ben, People do use those spy things yes, but I think you're worrying too much dude. If you say speak up, belive me, they'll speak up
  16. Yeah I've had that pleasure. Even better as mine was dressed as Lara Croft at the time. Brilliant! Chicks dig armour. Fact!
  17. Don't bother with them dude! Go for these babies that fit behind the aerator in an aresol cap. Much better sound -------------
  18. I'd recommend this mod to anyone! Full movement! I sit down and annoy people all the time plus if you're short you can bring the ab buttons down a tad. Cut an inch off and then stick back together with black elastic. I did this to mine and you see my ab buttons clearly now Sorry but this is the only decent photo of me I have. I lost all my others Must get some more taken this weekend
  19. Ah great stuff. My best moment was something similar. A troop here in Legoland UK (bare in mind I'm Welsh and sound very Welsh too! I have long given up trying to sound like you US guys in the movies, LOL) This little kid comes over, big inquistive eyes looking me up and down and then he asks me.... Are you all robots? No I'm not a robot Where are you from? Coruscant How did you get here? Spaceship Where is it, where did it land? Behind the castle (children aren't allowed over there ) Cool. Why are you here? To make sure little children like you behave! Where did you say you from again? Coruscant But you can't be! Why not? Because you're Welsh Fantastic moment that I'll never forget Me and his mum were crying for ages. Didn't get her number though
  20. I have the OT on DVD copied from laserdisc before Uncle George started fiddling. I'll have to check. I thought they said, open the blast doors anyway? LOL
  21. I'm 5.6 and look ok in it ...... I hope I'm just thin I'm on the left That is a combo of FX and SDS parts. If you can find someone who does the more defining iconic parts, shoulder bells etc (ahem - me, ahem, me) you can get away with cutting up an FX or something cheap and then getting cooler looking bells handplates etc. Luke's a short an impolite person. He pulled it off
  22. Hey dude. Cool plastic! Would you be up for sending a few sheets of this. 18" x 10" to the UK for me please? For a small fee of course
  23. Wow that looks lovely mate! Should the top be more domed and not flat in anyway? Or am I imagining things? LOL
  24. I cut mine too. It's a good thing to do. I also cut around an inch from the length of both halves. Helps to lower the ab buttons a bit if you're a short a$$ like me
  25. Ah ok, maybe so. kind of makes sense as he does bend down. As for AA telling me they were altered to allow them walk better etc, I guess the guy just lies through his teeth then hey? Strange, as it would totally contradict his nature. He's one hell of a nice guy and oddly has 'the' moulds in his workshop. He also actually has several other costume moulds too. Tie pilots, DS gunners, I could go on. He can also tell you what toilet parts or what washine machine hose was used on what costume etc. Strikes me as very odd that he knows all of this, if he had nothing to do with the suits creation. How on earth can he sell them? All AA did was flick a switch on vac former over moulds made by someone else, surely? How come Mr Lucas hasn't shut him down if that's all he did. How come he hasn't got his moulds back off him even. He has won a legal battle in LA that serves to protect it's precious film industry but that's it. They're his moulds. He made them. PS: They did have a thermal detonator. They're on the backpack.
