  1. I have never seen armour such as this before????
  2. There are a total of 6 rivets on the left hand side, 3 on the ab and 3 on the kidney plate but the upper most on the ab plate is tucked under the chest plate in my photo, i have ammended the CRL & EIB with this info Paul
  3. Its just the angle of the pic Karin.
  4. They do look good Paul with only 3 teeth cut out, thats for sure
  5. Pugmans stunt cast blaster was used by the Snow Troopers in esb and i think maybe some tk's? But as a general rule the majority of E-11 were Sterlings with added t-track and scope and no counter. I think the add on of the 3 round greeblies on the left and the hammer thingies on the right are discretional.
  6. When i added the side rivets to my armour after doing a little research and checking out the screen grabs i decided on 9mm jeans rivets, which look pretty dead on to me They are equally spaced out along the depth of the armour and about 10mm from the edge. If you are working with TM armour there is a nice line to follow as seen on the screen used suits. Most screen grabs show them painted white to blend in but as you see from this archive picture they either were not all painted or it has rubbed off... ---------
  7. I love your StarWars room, oh and the armour doesn't look to shabby either
  8. http://www.therpf.com/announcement.php?f=9 Registration will be open starting on 11/15 and will last through 11/30. Just a heads up for those interested
  9. You need to be a full member with a TK number before applying for EIB status.
  10. Well every transaction i have had with Matt is a different experiance. If someone can ask him where my 2 jedi lids are then great. For the first 8-9 months of this latest / last armour project Matt would IM or email me on a daily basis. Sometimes we would chat about everything apart from armour. Great. Then after i make a payment all communication stops. And guess what, no helmets!!! I am lucky if i get a responce and to honest i have almost given up. Maybe i will receive what i paid for, maybe i wont... Sometimes he will deliver very soon after i have sent a peyment and one time i had to wait over 7 months. I guess thats just how it is with him. Pot luck, pure and simple. Whenever anyone has asked me about what is it like to deal with TE i always tell them you can wait next to no time for an order or maybe it will be a long wait. And that is all you can do at the end, advise buyer beware.
  11. Nice ESB suit, looks like an easy pass from me
  12. The thing about the TM armour is Paul always modifies his molds to more accurately represent the armour seen in the film Star Wars. I have a 2009 TM suit that has different and more accurate marks and shapes in it than a 2008 suit as worn by other troopers i actively troop with. With us all suited up we can sit there and discuss the added lines in my suit that are not present in their own TM armour. I dont think the molds from AP have been adjusted much since he took ownership of the molds. Maybe there have been improvements with his armour since i owned a set back in 2008. Everyone has their own opinion on what they prefer but when it comes down to accuracy comparing the fan made suits available to what was seen on screen, the TM is going to win hands down if you are wanting to compare it with the armour seen in Star Wars. There has only been 1 suit of armour cast from the films and that was from Return of the Jedi. Here is a photo of the original Return of the Jedi armour that was cast to provide armour for TE, GF, GINO, AP and the list goes on. And it looks to me if the rubber trim came off the armour just fine. PS this is the thread from last year about the shape of the TM thighs, which i now have been changed since that discussion but i think the curve at the top is still the same. -----------
  13. Hi this thread is useless without photo's, so be sure to add those asap like you stated. Also the AP kit has lineage to a Return of the Jedi suit and has no real ties to the original armour seen in Star Wars. The AP kit has been reworked to look more like the armour seen in the first film but has many flaws to closely resemble the ANH armour. TM is the closest armour i have seen to resemble the original armour from Star Wars period. And i say that after owning FX, AP TE2 and TM, sorry Vern.
  14. You're a speacial case though, Billy
  15. Having my biceps low over my elbow's does not have any effect on me lifting my arms, or the armour being restrictive in any way. I think the key is to have the bicep parts made to be loose so they are free to move around easily. - ---------
  16. That looks awesome Matti, here is my hero TM
  17. Here is my ESB TE2 This is my Dan Laws This was my AP
  18. I must say that most marks dont show up in these photo's and even in the flesh my armour still looks quiet 'clean'. Check out these latest pics from Belgium....
  19. There is no right or wrong answer, they were all painted differently. Pick a version you like and go for it. And if you start with the thinner frown and dont like it you can paint it wider, simples
  20. Before you trim the legs i would actually try to do staires. At your height i can not see it being a problem. But if you do trim the legs, def take some out of the thigh as in the pic you posted. And remember trim a little at a time, so you take out the bare minimum needed, you can always cut away more, but once its gone, its gone.
  21. Well the way i see things, all though they do come from the same molds its all down to trimming and assembly. Thats why the original helmets all look slighty different when put together. The same can be said about modern helmet kits available now, you can put the same makers helmet together differently to produce a different look final product.
  22. Most people only have limited movement when in armour, this is normal. I can kneel down in my FX as it has shorter leg pieces and no return edge on the armour, which is what would cut into the leg... yet i cannot in my TM as the leg pieces are longer and do have a return edge. Am i making sense here?
  23. In the above pic showing the Gino helmet in comparison with the screen used, please remember the Gino helmet is derived from the Brian R helmet and the screen used is the Dave M, if that makes any difference
