  1. It's simply a matter of using any space where you don't touch your armor. For example, I have return edges at the top of my thigh armor, so in order for those not to dig into my thighs, I need a bit of distance to the armor. Those few millimetres between the return edge and my thigh, as well as the width of the return edge itself, allow for enough space in between my thigh and my armor to store a phone. I personally don't use an aker most of the time, which allows for extra space in my armor. Again, using all possible space in the armor. The pouch is fairly slim and wide, so that takes up less space. The box is a 3D-print! The hook is Coverstrip ABS, which I heatformed and glued to the box. With my newest box the hook will be 3D-printed as well though.
  2. Congratulations, TK-73692, and welcome to the ranks! Can't wait to see your EIB Application and the first Troop Log Entries

Congratulations! More than well deserved! Welcome to the 501st! What year the next Approval? Hmmm... I'll go with 2023
  4. I've also got a little pouch in my chestplate: Mine closes on two sides, so I can get to it without removing my armor. It does involve me sticking my hand into my Chestplate with a bit of contortion though, unless I open the chest-back connection. It's holding in there with Velcro for easy removal during post-troop clean-up and is spacious enough for money, glucose, a snack, my keys, my phone and trading cards. I've also got basic clip-on boxes for my trading cards and am in the process of getting one for citation cards. These are non-CRL and not really made for going on a trampoline, but hold well enough during most Conventions, whilst being easier accessible, if I want to hand something out. No picture here, but a friend of mine has crafted a way to store her phone in her thigh with a carabiner. So, yeah, use any and all spaces you have in your armor
  5. Congratulations on your Approval and welcome to the Legion! I'm sure we'll see higher level submissions very soon

When Caleb's Approval has turned into a FISD-wide event... We're all rooting for you!
  7. Looks cleaner to me with the notch, but I took a look at the ANH Stunt TK CRL, and here's what it says regarding the kidney notch: Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top Cut-out notches at the bottom of right and left sides of the Kidney Armor are optional. If present, each notch is approximately 22 mm tall and the back of the notch ideally is aligned with the front edges of the Posterior Armor plate..
  8. An insanely clean build, Caleb, and with that I don't just mean the shininess of your armor. Congrats, I'm sure you won't have any trouble with the basic approval! Now, as you asked for possible Lvl2 /3 adjustments, here's the few things that I spotted (might be more of a Lvl4 issue most of the time, but I'm sure you'll appreciate it anyways ): - the shoulderbell gap to the shoulderbridge. Possibly the most common higher level mention. Due to the curve of your shoulder bell, there's a bit of a gap and visible black. Not a problem for basic, but something you might want to adress in the future. - on the full body back picture, your left shoulder elastic slipped loose from the shoulderbridge. Just a dressing mistake, I'm sure, as it's clearly in position in the close-ups. - your Forearms seem fairly compact compared to the rest of the build. Especially in the front and back view. Perhaps there's some return edge to be cut off and a slimmer fit possible? I mean, this is just my personal preference, but it might look a bit closer to screen-used armor. Although they do look good from the side, so I'm not 100% sure about that one. Might just be me being used to RS armor having a different shape. - is it just me, or is the bottom kidney return edge turned towards the outside a bit? Honestly not relevant for any level, but I spotted it on the pictures and therefore felt compelled to mention it. - in the side-view it appears as if the front cover strips on your thighs might be a bit long. Might be the angle, loose glue or a bit of a different shape: Everything looks perfect from the front though, so you'll have a better insight on this than I have, Caleb - and, another possibly-the-angles-fault thing I wanna point out: There's possibly a bit too much paint on the tooth in the middle, as it appears to be on the bottom gums. So, yeah, that's either the angle or two minutes with some paint remover. --- All in all, I was struggling to find anything to point out and was oftentimes left just admiring the clean work. Really, a fantastic armor you got there, you should be proud of yourself! Gotta get some memes ready for your Lvl 1, 2 and 3 Approvals -- they are gonna take no time at all with that armor!

This one's dedicated to @revlimiter and everyone else who's managed to sit down in armor! I've gotten cookies during three troops now If you're unsure if your armor is ever gonna look good enough for Centurion, believe me, there's a lot you can do. I basically build my armor twice and am still improving stuff
  10. Congratulations, Caleb! This award has been more than deserved for all you do for this community!

I've been wanting to order Chicago Screws for three weeks now, but instead always end up posting more memes And what it sounds like: "Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?" Inspired by @revlimiter's recent troop log Those three months of ballet as a five year old really paid off, guys Don't worry, it's all possible, even if it takes you eight months

    FISD Memes

Thanks for calling me out, using the word "competition" might have been the wrong choice due to the different connotations in German and English. Um... "encouraging each other to post more memes based on friendly ribbing and markers regarding the current post/meme count"? I don't know how to word this Again, no policing from my side, just wanted to mention that I prefer to see FISD-relevant memes in this thread over generic Star Wars memes. Thanks for your input, I'd love to hear what others think as well (in this thread, perhaps accompanied by at least one meme? ). No burning anyone, otherwise we'd loose all interactions on here, lol It's just that Star Wars memes in general have a lot of spaces online (especially on Reddit), so I like having a FISD Meme Space just for us TKs

    FISD Memes

Can't believe I'm going to be serious for once Hey guys, here's a quick reminder that this was intended by me to be an FISD Meme Thread. Now, I certainly enjoy all the general Star Wars Memes that I've seen in this thread recently, don't get me wrong, but in my mind they're a better fit for general meme threads. r/prequelmemes instead of FISD Memes. Now, I'm not a dictator, I'm not gonna say which memes are okay for this thread and even if I had the power to edit posts, I wouldn't go ahead and delete the ones I don't like. So, instead, here's what I imagined this thread to be for: I thought we would post memes about the FISD, recent happenings on here, our members, relationships and interactions with each other. Memes about trooping and building a TK. Advice, critique, encouragement for each other and our armors. Memes for and about our Detachment and Stormtroopers, which is certainly what we all expected from this thread. Especially with the recent drive and competition to post the most memes in this thread, I can't help but feel that the original purpose has been derailed. Please, please, do not take this as me saying I don't like the new memes. Don't take this as me being a boring stick in the mud, trying to enforce my own rules in this thread. I wanted to share my opinion on this, as I think that we can stick closer to the FISD Memes. Thank you

So, a friend of mine just joined the JRS... Which is a bit of a sad statistic, tbh
  18. I've had the same problem with my RS build. Strapping didn't have enough tension to hold them in position for me, so I ended up putting a strip of ABS into the top ridge, therefore forcing both sides to align. Although the hot water bath that Mario mentioned is a more convenient solution I'd definitely try them on with the shoes. If you need to remove some material you can easily take some from the bottom. Therefore you could easily wait until you've finalized your thigh-strapping and fitted everything with shoes. Oftentimes you need less knee space than predicted. I personally have about as much space as you have right now and I can kneel, sit and lie down in armor.

Yes, that's me on the right and my armor on the left. And it was definitely a very good decision to swap costumes for a while. It's not a troop, if I don't steal another trooper's headwear for at least a few minutes Is this a realistic goal? I don't know. Am I having fun anyways? Yes. Is this secretly just an attempt to show off my troop pictures? Maybe...
  21. Hey Leif! Glad to see you on here as well! You can find all that level 2 stuff over here, so be sure to check that out Good luck with everything, I'm looking forward to our next shared troop (and maybe seeing some of the improvements you've made). LG, Luca

  24. Hi Alan! A belated Welcome to the FISD from my side as well! We've got a ton of TKs in Germany, several Attachés, so I can assure you, you're in good hands if you ever want some local help. Since Caleb went ahead and tagged me, I want to offer you my help as well, if that's something you're interested in -- if that's because I might know some local help, sources or simply because of the language barrier. As we say over here in the FISD: Troopers helping Troopers. So feel free to reach out at any time! Of course you can also stick to all the help and feedback you're getting on here, I can assure you that these people will help you make the most of your armor Sadly the German forum is a bit inactive, but as you're seeing there's tons of other resources waiting for you. Good luck with everything and I can't wait to see your final armor
