  1. Thank you both! [44] 07.04.2023 -- Star Wars Celebration London, Friday Without a break, the next weekend saw my longest travel to my largest troop so far: Star Wars Celebration. The Chaos Division met up on Wednesday, drove 11 hours by car on Thursday, and was ready for Celebration on Friday. Due to all the horror tales we'd heard regarding wait times and queues we arrived a short time after opening on Friday. I was the only one in my armor that day, everyone else wanting to see something at the convention. Mostly, we saw lots and lots of people, but we managed to run into some friends and one of the droids we were looking for. Although I didn't get to see much of the event itself, I still had lots of fun -- until I discovered that there were few to no seating options. When I had said before the convention that one could recognize me, since I'd be either dancing Macarena -- or sitting down on the floor... I did not expect to do both of those things during my first day. [45] 08.04.2023 -- Star Wars Celebration London, Saturday Saturday was the day of the group photos. Before we even got to enter the ExCel center for the first time that day, we were at the Garrison Group photo, the Squad group photo and -- finally! -- the 501st group photo. Whilst waiting for said photo I finally got to meet @Chemi and @Hoda. Meeting people from the forums in real life was simply amazing. Although the Detachment photos had originally been planned for the stairs in front of the center as well, said plan was changed and we finally got to enter the convention. In the empty hall behind the changing room was enough space for all the Detachment group photos and whilst waiting there was enough time to get to know even more Detachment members. Later that day the Chaos Division would come back for some pictures of our own: we'd film getting chased by Ahsoka and Rex, took a proper Fireteam photo, and we made fun of TIE pilots. I'd missed trooping with the whole team. [46] 09.04.2023 -- Star Wars Celebration London, Sunday These two Jedi had a bad feeling waiting for the DLR -- who expects to run into four Stormtroopers in the Railway, after all? On Sunday our day started with possibly even more pictures than the previous day, as we were held up before entering the convention. Later, we would discover a picture of ourselves in a German newspaper. We also arrested some of the local police. What for? No idea, but it was fun. During Sunday I finally got to meet the last people I'd been looking for, and we once more barely got to go anywhere. We took photos at the VW booth, with a Death Star, and with various visitors. During midday I entertained myself by acting as if I were a statue next to the 501st booth, scaring some of the visitors. Completely exhausted, we finished off the day by playing ball with Grogu before going back to the hotel a bit earlier than planned due to an injury. I went back in casual clothes for another hour before getting to meet even more people during the FISD Meet and Greet. Thank you to all who were there, I had an amazing time! [47] 10.04.2023 -- Star Wars Celebration London, Monday Last day of Celebration and I was the last trooper standing, as the rest of the Fireteam had decided to go casual once more. Everything hurt, I was exhausted, but at least I got to sit down during the Bad Batch Panel. Monday was a bit calmer than the previous days, which I greatly enjoyed. We ended the day a bit earlier to go explore London instead. It was my first time in the UK and I'm glad I got a bit of sightseeing in before we had to go back the next day. Thank you all for the wonderful time, and a #notatyourpost (except Danny) for my fellow FISD Staff TK-66744 signing off
  2. [42] 01.04.23 -- Power of the Force Cologne, Days 0+1 Once more I got to be part of the wonderful construction team for our booth, so I arrived a day early to help set everything up. It took us about 4.5 hours to get everything ready and afterwards we went to grab something to eat. Starting Saturday by standing guard outside, I made the biggest mistake of the weekend by not listening to my body when I started freezing in the low temperatures. Luckily TR-88900 helped me warm up again by allowing me to stay underneath his robe for a while. Following that we went back to our usual duties -- guarding the throne, being available for pictures, and escorting several of the star guests. A highlight among those were Ken Colley (Adm. Piett) and Julien Glover (Gen. Veers), especially for the various officers who were there. In the afternoon there was a short parade as well as the group photo before people slowly started to leave. [43] 02.04.23 -- Power of the Force Cologne, Day 2 Having woken up not feeling well, I decided to skip standing guard on Sunday. But even so I continued to feel worse, until after about two or three hours I was forced to leave my costume due to intense shivering, dizziness, and just not feeling well at all. Some of my friends of the Galactic Academy thus took it upon themselves to lend me one of their jackets and kept me supplied with energy drinks, snacks, cake, and some paracetamol, whilst I took a break to man first their booth and then the German Garrison booth whilst half out of armor. Their magic potion of care, warmth, caffeine, sugar, and meds managed to get me back up after about two hours and I went back into armor for the last two hours of relaxed trooping -- this time having fun at the Galactic Academy booth. After the convention we got our booth back down and packed up in under two hours and said goodbye to everyone. Despite not doing well (to a point where I probably shouldn't have been trooping at all. Always take care of yourself!), I still had a lot of fun and want to thank all my fellow troopers for their support! TK-66744 signing off

Just casually checking the tracking status every five minutes
  4. Only speaking for myself: I won't be in armor anymore. All four days is exhausting enough without adding the evening as well

If these get sent back to Adam just because I'm at Celebration, I'm gonna cry
  6. Gotcha, Adam! @MaskedVengeance Coin Check!
  7. I can really recommend the shirt variant, it's easy to craft and comfy to wear, especially if you don't like showing others your chest
  8. I am so happy to finally see this launched -- even submitted my own pre-approval already Thank you all who helped this come to life!
  9. Thank you so much for the feedback. 10 minutes with a dremel and it already looks better! Really can't figure out that Imgur tho, so sorry :/ Thank you! I'll make sure to add them to my approval. Didn't even think about them Thank you! I love the shirt as a detail
  10. Hello there! I've had a bit of insight into this costume for some time now, seeing the CRL come to life. So now that the Beach TK CRL is officially launched, I am happy to say that I can finally request pre-approval! Looking forward to your feedback! General Info Name: Luca Hahn ID: TK-66744 Garrison: German Garrison Helmet: RS Propmasters Softparts: self-made Blaster: Troopacoola Height: 177cm Weight: 52kg Full Body Action Shot Helmet Blaster Sadly I seemed to have some problems regarding the forum upload size, hope this is still good Thank you!
  11. Nah, just kidding, there's always something to improve. And this isn't even for Lvl 4 (whatever the criteria might be, aside from "sitting in armor"), but for the upcoming Troops -- and fixing the two remarks on my Centurion Approval Crack Repair Now, the first remark I got, was that I need to repair my cracks. And I do. Always. Now, a lot of these cracks simply come from one bad movement or continuous stress in some areas. Usually, I fix them with poor man's fiberglass -- a thin fabric soaked in superglue -- putting some light scores over the end of the cracks in the hope of preventing them going any further inwards and maybe going over them with ABS paste and/or Acetone in order to hide them. However there have been a few cracks that appear again, and again, and again... and not even a third layer of poor man's fiberglass is helping anymore. So I needed something stronger. I took some of my leftover coverstrip ABS, cut it to shape and glued it into the armor. This is a lot more sturdy and the fabric and will hopefully ease the stress on my armor. Hand Guard Paint This might as well be a regular feature by now -- for unknown reasons my handguards always yellow and whilst it makes for an excellent marker to recognize me, it doesn't look as good as some white handguards and therefore got a mention in my Centurion Application. Although it takes me several coats of a white paint of my choice (anything works, I've used everything from wall paint to enamel paint), I still prefer this over the admittedly simpler choice of buying myself some nice white latex handguards. Holster Repair During a private troop at the end of February, my Holster Chicago Screw came loose. Although I did manage to find a screw (notably not my screw), I didn't manage to find the small black leather square cover. Luckily I still had some fake leather lying around from a different project, so I simply had to cut a square, punch a hole into said square and I had a new cover. Then, to prevent such a thing from happening again, I put a small drop of E-6000 on all my Holster screws. I do need to order myself some Chicago Screws and properly replace the square, but it's a good solution for now until I can properly rework this. Celebration Prep This is something that I maybe should have done a long time before, but with Celebration coming up I finally had a good enough excuse to go through with it. I wrote my ID into/onto every single piece of Armor that I own. That way, if I loose or misplace something, everyone knows who it belongs to. Whenever possible I tried to put my ID somewhere where there would be no staining should the ink bleed through the armor, such as underneath cover-strips. Luckily, there was no bleed-through anywhere. Phone Thigh Pocket A chest pocket is good, but a place for my phone that I can grab without showing everyone my chest is better. So it was time for a thigh pocket. First I cut a square piece of canvas fabric. The fabric itself does not matter, but white or black are better hidden inside the armor. The fabric was about an inch (3cm) broader on each side than my phone and two centimeters longer on the bottom. I marked the position of the fabric inside my thigh, making sure to keep a slight distance to the top (just far enough to be more hidden, but still reachable), whilst checking that my phone would actually fit in there. I then glued the fabric on the sides and bottom into the armor, leaving the top open. If this works as well in practice as I'm hoping it will, I might add another pocket to my left thigh as well. For more security I intend on adding a few extras, but I need a second phone case for that, so it's only on my to-do list for now. Once I get everything ready, I'll be sure to share the final part of this project with you As always, thanks for reading and I hope I'll see some of you at Celebration

    No Jerseys here either
  13. As others said before, it's alright, if not beneficial to have a bit of a gap. If you want to close it for the sake of perfection, it might help if you adjust the lens material. That means getting one side loose, pushing the material inwards until it's flat against the eye holes and creating a second hole in the lens material for the screw. You got this!
  14. Congratulations on your tenth troop! You three look awesome!
  15. Welcome to FISD, Trooper! Looking forward to seeing your EIB application, good luck!

  17. Discord is a platform that features user-friendly text, voice, and video chat in public or private servers. And as of today, one of these servers is for us. I’m proud to announce that we can finally launch this project for all of us: FISD Discord If you’re looking for a casual and relaxed space to chat with your fellow TK’s, this is for you. Yes, even if you’re new to the Forums. We would be honored if you would join us. And here’s a quick DISCORD FAQ What is Discord? Discord is a free communications app, most similar to popular apps like Skype, Microsoft Teams, Slack, and TeamSpeak. It features user-friendly text, voice, and video chat in public or private servers. Is Discord meant to replace the Forum? No, it is not! It is simply another form of communications for all of us to stay in contact with the FISD and be an active part of our community. What is the goal of the FISD Discord? Our goal is to offer a space for chatting and communication beyond what the forum can offer, such as voice/video chat, a space for troop pictures that did not fit into the troop log and general talk about our armors. Oh – and there’s our #spoilers channel to discuss the latest Star Wars News. Essentially an extension of the FISD. If we start with Discord, will the Forums still be relevant? Of course! The forums are and always will be the heart of the FISD. We have our pictures, our build threads, our references, and our programs all over here. That won’t change, nor would we want it to. Do I have to get Discord and be active on there? No. Discord is an extra, you won’t miss out on anything by not joining in. (Well, except for some fun conversations.) Should anything that’s relevant to the FISD Forum come up, it will get shared on the forums as well. We already have staff on there who are ready to take care of the Discord server and will do their best to make sure nothing too relevant goes on over there. Do any other Detachments already have this? Not to our knowledge. However, there are some Garrisons/Squads/Outposts out there who are already utilizing Discord with varying success. Who is allowed to join the server? All FISD Members, age 18 and older, who are in good standing are allowed to join the Server. 501st Membership is not a requirement. Who’s in charge of the Server? As of now we have two Admins (names in Green on the Server) -- @Daetrin and @revlimiter. Additionally, many of our Detachment Staff are on there as well, easy to recognize by the yellow names. All of Staff are using their forum names as usernames, such as “Morgi (DPRO)”, with the role on Staff in brackets behind the name. For easier communication, we recommend that you too change your server name to your FISD forums name. Do you have any other questions? If so, please feel free to let us know! On the Server itself you can find our Staff in yellow or green, so do not hesitate to contact any of us. Additionally, there’s a #help-general channel, where we will get back to you as soon as possible. Once you join, please also take a minute to look through our Server Rules. By using the Server, you agree to comply with the Server Rules. Please note that this Discord server may contain images and information on member built non-functioning prop weapons as seen in the Star Wars films. These weapons look real enough. Because of this, the FISD Discord server is meant for age 18+ only. Use of this Discord server indicates acceptance of this 18+ age limit. We're looking forward to seeing you on there!
  18. Congratulations and welcome to the Legion! This is some truly impressive work, I can't wait to see your EIB Application
