Nobody asked for more Marvel memes, so here's another few! I feel like this meme format has a lot of potential for us TKs Bet it doesn't fit right whilst trooping

Have some marvelous memes! ... okay, that was bad

It's your lucky day! We've got a Discord server for FISD -- you can find all the info regarding it over here! Feel free to join! Regarding the lack of help: my Stormtrooper was my first ever costume and I built it without any in person help -- the people on this forum helped me tremendously by giving feedback and encouraging me. You can certainly build your own Stormtrooper, even without prior experience, and you don't have to have in person help, as nice as that might be. Looking forward to having you join the ranks soon!

As one of our local experts in getting cracks (wonder how that could be ) here's my advice: - be careful when taking your armor off. Seconding @andylah here, cause I've gotten a few cracks when the snaps got stuck or I was careless - be careful when moving. You've likely got a more limited range of motion when in armor than outside of it. Now, don't let the fear stop you from sitting down! But move slowly and avoid "rolling" over your armor (for example, sitting on the front part of your buttplate and then shifting your weight backwards). Sit straight down, adjust carefully. - if your armor pieces get caught/stuck, don't remove them with force. It won't ever turn out well. - there are a variety of repairs. Fabric with superglue is easy and fast (ideal for at a troop!) but it's the most likely to crack again, since it's really thin. ABS paste also doesn't tend to hold up well, so only use it for filling up gaps or cracks. Instead I recommend pieces of ABS plastic glued into your armor. If you've shaped them properly (curved to fit the armor piece, a bit larger than the crack) they almost never open back up again, and even if they do, it's highly unlikely to become bigger. - don't bend your armor or put stress onto it, if you can avoid it. Bend your ABS often enough and it'll crack. - remove unnecessary return edges in high stress areas: I recommend no return edges on your buttplate if you want to sit down in armor. Not only is it more comfortable, but without a return edge the armor won't crack as easily. Personally, with my next ANH armour I'll be removing the buttplate return edge and I'll put some ABS into the codpiece, buttplate and chestplate arm holes, since those were my common crack areas. Just don't let the fear of cracks stop you from having fun! Checking your armor after every troop and repairing cracks as soon as they appear will help you keep your armor looking good. Hope this helps!

Hello Troopers! This month we are looking for your most colourful pictures to be shared on our Socials! Of course I’m talking about celebrating Pride Month in June. Please send me pictures of you and your fellow troopers marching in parades, dressed in colourful flags or otherwise showing your support for the LGBTQ+ community. You can either submit the pictures here in the forum thread, in a DM to me, or by sending me an email at 501tk66744 @gmail.com (remove the space before the @). Don’t forget to share your TK-ID(s), Garrison name and – if applicable – the photographer’s credit. You can submit your pictures until the 29th of May. I’m looking forward to seeing your pictures!

Congratulations! That sounds like a fantastic start already!

Whoever says that you're done with working on your armor once you get approved is lying. So here I am, once again! Aside from the usual clean-up and crack repair, it was time for something more unusual: Bleaching my armor Now, if you've taken a look at my troop log, you might have noticed that every since June last year my armor color hasn't quite matched up with that of my fellow troopers. Long, long hours of trooping in the sun can do that to ABS. After a bit of looking around and researching, I stumbled across the fact that you can bleach your armor. Here is a good tutorial. First things first, I got rid of everything that didn't need bleaching or that might make the process more difficult. Just look at this part of my helmet: you can clearly spot which parts were covered by the ears and which had some sun exposure! By taking my helmet apart I could more or less guarantee equal sun exposure during the bleaching process, as well as making sure the screws, the lens foil or the rubber parts wouldn't get bleached by accident. The paint however won't be impacted by the bleach. Similarly, I made sure to remove padding and strapping wherever possible. For bleaching the armor I used this hair bleach. I put a dollop of it onto the cardboard and painted a layer onto my armor. I then wrapped the armor in clingfoil and sealed it as airtight as possible with see-through tape. Remember to only use bleach whilst wearing skin protection and being in a ventilated area -- I forgot the gloves at first and my skin got really itchy and a bit spotty. Once I had everything wrapped up, I put the armor parts out in the sun, making sure to give them the most sun exposure they could get. Originally, I had planned on leaving them there the entire afternoon whilst I relaxed inside, but it was a rather windy day and I instead spent the next two hours playing catch with it in the garden. After those two hours I decided enough was enough -- at this point it was fairly likely that all the tumbling around would mean risking cracks and there were storm clouds coming up anyways -- so I carefully removed the cling wrap and wiped off all the bleach with water. Since I was already dedicating that day towards armor maintenance, I decided to give everything a good clean up as well, getting rid of some of the scuffs with a magic eraser. At a first glance, my armor certainly appears to be less yellow than before. I didn't get around to bleaching the whole armor, but only the more yellowed parts -- shoulders, helmet... anything with sun exposure from the top -- so we'll have to see just how well I will fit in with my fellow TKs at the next troop.

What do you mean, it's been almost a month without memes??
