  1. I have attached some pics of my shoulder straps, and I am approved at EIB as of now, few small touch ups to get to Centurion, but that's not the point. I was only able to attach the large tab and about half of one of the small ones due to the odd shape of the ATA chest plate and still made it to the higher levels. Correct me if I am wrong, but its more about fit and being proportionate to accuracy: I left the back tabs on as the ATA straps are shorter than some of the other makers are so definitely test fit before you make any cuts. It's much easier to cut something off than to put it back on, however not impossible to fix, it just sucks. Hope this helps!
  2. Hey Marc, great seeing you over here. Tons and tons of great people and build threads are available for you. Look at all of the pinned threads located here https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/ Feel free to PM me if there are any questions!
  3. First off, excellent build! A few small suggestions that I have would be make sure that your chest plate overlaps the ab plate. Make the shoulder straps a bit longer. Your back plate should be just barely touching the top of the kidney plate. Another thing is that the brow rubber needs to extend to the end of the trap. Another thing would be to raise your belt higher so I just touches or overlaps the ab button plate Last thing would be for higher levels (doable and recommended), the drop boxes need to line up with the outside of the plastic belt Here is mine for reference Other than that, great build and good luck with approval!
  4. Congratulations man! ATA is an excellent kit, that is the set that I have. Has great potential. Be sure to post pics and ask a lot of questions! Good Luck and have fun!!

  11. The best thing to do in this case is a hot water bath and carefully mold the calf armor closed and the Velcro is less likely to pull apart. Check out this thread and ask questions before doing anything. If you close that gap at the top of the calf armor, you should be golden.
  12. No problem! That's what we are here for. Looking at the CRL again, it says "Mesh may be used behind the frown to obscure the face of the wearer.", so it looks like it is not required for basic, but it will definitely enhance your kit. I would be more than happy to help you out with the straps if you'd like, just PM me.
  13. It looks great. Few things I would like to address: Make sure the sniper knee sits on the outside of the thigh armor. Most likely a fitting issue. You could also add some upholstery foam behind the sniper plate. Does your helmet teeth have mesh behind it? There should be a black elastic band the wraps the inside of the shoulder bells around the bicep and the biceps need to sit just a little bit higher. As well as the forearms can sit a little higher so they don't overlap the hand plates. Looks excellent for basic and could go higher with jut a few tweaks on the straps.
  14. Great work so far mate. Lookin good. To answer your question, my understanding is that the cover strips don't necessarily have to track down the middle but the strips on the thighs need to line up with the coverstrips on the shins. The reference photo on the CRL on the website shows the thighs slightly off center, but perfectly lined up with the shins. Keep up the good work!
  15. Looks great! Interested in seeing how this comes out. Good Luck!
  16. Keep it up man. I am absolutely in love with my ATA kit. He did an excellent job with it. I would suggest adding more strapping to the kit itself. From kidney to butt plate, I have 5 straps. It may be excessive but if one breaks off, the plate wont shift as much. Keep it up and ask lots of questions!
  17. Other than your list, it looks excellent. Remember to paint the rest of the ab buttons, and correctly. I accidentally had my diagram printout upside down and painted the 4 vertical buttons upside down which was not fun to fix. Also the rivet heads need to be painted as well. There should also be a small ammo belt attached to the bottom of the right thigh. Keep up the good work!
  18. Glad to hear things are progressing well for you. Make sure your belts are straight and strong enough not to sag, per the CRL. Good news on your dad also getting a kit. On your forearm question, I honestly don't know what to do to help out. My forearms are symmetrical both with 11 bumps each and fit me well. I would wait to see. It is much easier to trim then to extend a piece Hope that helps!
  19. The pre approval threads are an excellent resource. I only found them after I was finished building and stumbled on them and submitted my own pre approval thread. Everyone is great and an even better resource. The command staff is amazing and super helpful. Best of luck!
  20. You got it. A friend of mine told me the buckle method while he was working on his death trooper from Rogue One. You have to be spot on with your snap measurements, if you are not, you just wasted a snap and some material. With buckles, I just cut a decently long piece and just adjusted it until it fit and was done in one take. I used the excess material somewhere else. 1 in webbing will be your best friend. I really like how I can adjust it. For example I did a troop below freezing, it was about 19 degrees F in my TK and had to loosen the buckles to fit extra back clothing for my under suit. Don't really expect it to be that cold in Australia so you should be okay. I just thought is was more convenient for me to make as it was my first kit. Confidence is key in working with these kits. I was timid in some places and that caused some mistakes I'm not super proud of. Also take your time. Speaking from experience, I was rushing to finish before TROS came out and made some stupid mistake and it cost me going opening night. I spent all day Friday and most of Saturday getting ready for an opening weekend event, but it was still a shame. So be confident, do research, and take your time. As someone who has also worked with models with my dad, most of the skills are transferable. It a ton of fun working again isn't it?
  21. Looks fantastic! Glad you are aiming high now instead of later. Keep posting pictures and asking questions. There are many people here to help out. Small suggestion which helped me a ton. I bought a ton of industrial strength white Velcro and used a lot of it, especially in the shins. I am not a fan of snaps at all, I have only 3 snaps on my kit: 1 per arm and cod to butt plate. I used a ton of 1 inch plastic buckles to strap my torso. That way, its very adjustable and I think easier to attach. As well as my torso is one piece. Some people use a few separate pieces using suspenders keeping ab, kidney and butt plate and slide the chest and back plate over. I strapped by chest to my ab and my back to my kidney. There are many, many different ways to do things and it is mostly up to you. Just some food for thought. One more thing on the CA vs E6000 debate. I used CA and it worked extremely well and the accelerator worked instantly so I was able to get a lot done in a short time frame. Until some glue dripped out from under the cover strips and left a streak on my bicep that was an absolute pain to remove. I may have some pictures if you want. Was not fun but learned my lesson the hard way Best of luck, it looks great!
  22. Looks excellent. it looks like you put a lot of time and effort into your build and it shows. I see no issues with approval as long as those items you mentioned are fixed. The sniper plate looks fine to me. If you really want, you can raise it vertically a bit and rotate it towards the back of the shin, but it looks good. Keep up the good work
  23. Looks excellent. Aiming high is definitely the way to go. I made that mistake of just aiming for basic and having to redo things that would've been easier from the get go. Keep up the great work!
  24. Looks excellent, keep up the good work. Keep an eye on the gap between the thighs and the cod when actually putting your straps together. Its a bit too big in the pictures that you posted. Keep it up, it looks great!
