  1. Looking good! That sniper knee is looking well and pretty straight from the front - good job!
  2. I hear you, the wait for Anovos kits can be really long sometimes. However, it's great to see that you are using that time to get as much prepared as possible. So you'll see, when you'll get you kit, you'll be ready to go and knowing what you have to do!
  3. It should not be a problem for approval! However, if you want, you could definitely do a great job removing the gap using an inner cover strip and/or some ABS paste! Sent from my LG-M470 using Tapatalk
  4. Hi and congratulations on you first kit! RS is a great suit, you'll surely love it. Looking forward to follow your progress and help you if needed!
  5. We've all been there, but in the end it's really worth it! ^^
  6. Hey that's looking really great mate! Keep up the good work, you're almost done! :D
  7. Yay! Happy BBB day! Hope you'll enjoy your kit! And looking forward to following your progress!!
  8. Vocoder looks really nice, as well as the rest of the paint. Good work!
  9. And if I may add something to the lots of excellent information my comrades have already posted, when trimming, going slowly by removing less than what is needed many times is way better than removing all (and possibly too much) at once. Even if you find that you have some skinny limbs and are sure that you'll need to remove a lot from the edges, take it one cut at a time. Make small, conservative measurements, cut, and then try it on yourself. You'll see, sometimes, even by removing less than what you initially thought, you get some way better results than what you expected. And that saves you from removing too much.
  10. I guess you know, but just to make sure, you don't have to pad the whole interior of your armor with foam. You just have to add a few squares of foam padding at key places to help your armor stay in place. Like this, most of you body will still be able to breath properly. And it's always a bit hot in there anyways... you'll get used to it!
  11. Hi and grats on your kit! Who is the maker of your armor? I think that with some trimming combined with foam padding inside your armor, you should be able to end up with a very good result!
  12. Yeah, definitely - it would be way better to cut it straight than with some angles. Also, I'd recommend to be able to fit around two fingers inside. Like Lou said, it will help you move around, but will also allow some air to flow through your armor and help your body breath during long troops (and that you want!). I pretty much used that rule on most pieces : let around two fingers width free inside your armor, and it works pretty well - not too tight and not too loose.
  13. Great job so far! And have a great time in Europe! See ya when you come back!
  14. Grats on your WTF kit and welcome! Ask all you want and we will help you. And most importantly, have fun!
  15. Yea, you should be okay without it. Like Dan said, the paint holds up pretty well to the helmet if you don't hit it everywhere. I had someone hit the side of my helmet by mistake recently, just where are the tube stripes. I thought it would have messed them up a little bit, but it didn't. It shows no sign of wear and they are all just fine. So it's mostly going to remain in great condition without a layer of coating if you are just a bit careful with your helmet. Plus, if anything ever happens to the paint, you can always do one more coat to correct - in the worst case! ^^

  17. Welcome to the FISD and congratulations on your costume!!
  18. Welcome and congrats on your BBB! Take your time and ask all the questions that come up and you'll see, everything will go smoothly! Good luck on your build!
  19. The CRL does not seem to mention anything about what holds the canvas and plactic belts together, so I think you should be fine.
  20. Yea, it's really up to you. For the thighs, it's usually way more comforyable if you have no (or almost none) return edge because, over time on some longer troops, the return edges can start digging in your thigh and/or knee. I removed most return edge from the top of my thighs and left a small one st the bottom. For the shins, it's a bit different. I'd suggest removing the return edge at the bottom if you have any... It will allow you to get that more slender fit you want. As for the top, I left a little one on mine - a few millimeters. It sometimes dig in my knee too but it's not really bad and I personnally think it looks better if there is a small one. Hope this helps... And once again, it's pretty much all up to you; trying to find balance between long wearability and look. ^^ Sent from my LG-M470 using Tapatalk
  21. Cool party - you even got some snowtrooper ! ;P Oh and happy birthday mate! Sent from my LG-M470 using Tapatalk
  22. Congrats on your BBB! You seem to be off to a very good start; keep up the good spirit! Usually, a good place to start can be the arms pieces like the biceps or the forearms - not too many complicated things to do/cut/fit and it will warm you up for the rest of the kit. And don't hesitate to post a lot of pictures and all the questions that you might have along the way - we'll be happy to help! Lots of Stunt going around lately - will be cool looking at a Hero as well.
  23. It's normal that the ab/kidney/butt/chest might feel a bit wide if you are not a big guy. I am slim too, and I have some space inside those parts as well. Also, make sure you try to fit your shins while wearing your boots. Keep up the good job!
