  1. Great to hear you're started! Good luck on your build and show us some photos! ;P
  2. Hi there and welcome! Hot baths are a good way... can't wait to see some pics of your progress!
  3. That's the way to go mate, good job! So fun isn't it once you're started! The ab buttons lool good... Did you check them where they're supposed to go on the ab to see how they fit? Keep up the good work! Sent from my LG-M470 using Tapatalk
  4. Great work! You should not have any problems reshaping them if you go a little bit a time! Sent from my LG-M470 using Tapatalk
  5. Looking good mate! No it's time to change that avatar picture! [emoji14] Good job! Sent from my LG-M470 using Tapatalk
  6. For the right snap, I went around 20mm from the top and from the side. Sent from my LG-M470 using Tapatalk
  7. Yeah, canon width for the arms cover strips is 15mm. However, if you need to go a few milimeters wider for some reason (for example, if your hand can't fit through your forearm at 15mm), that's not a problem at all. So you can go a bit more than 15mm if you need - just keep it uniform throughout the armor. And for the cover strips corners, most armors used in the movie had theor corners lightly rounded. That's how I did mine. Sent from my LG-M470 using Tapatalk
  8. It will be better when we get a picture of your whole arm straight, but from this picture I think you could easily wear your bicep piece higher... And your forearm should follow, too. As long as you can still bend your elbow! I'd try that first. Sent from my LG-M470 using Tapatalk
  9. Looking good from what is visible on those pictures! When the glue is set properly, it should not move that much even if you force the pieces into place. If there is still always too much tension, you can always try to hot bath the piece carefully to shape it towards how it should go and fit. Keep it up, coming along great!
  10. That sounds good! Great progress so far, keep it up mate!
  11. Is it because of the top of the thigh, or is it because of the part around your knee that you cannot walk properly? If it's more because of the knee, you could just remove some of the return edge from the back of your knee and it should already help you, instead of trying to remove from the top.
  12. Go for it, don't overthink it! Find an armor you like among the many armor makers that offer some and order it! Then, just start a build thread here on the FISD and post you progress. Make some research through this site, talk with us along the way and ask any question you want. You'll see, you'll be so happy in the end!
  13. Sure thing, go with the painting! You'll be glad you did it in the end!
  14. Happy BBB day mate! Looking forward to your build! If you still need help about how to post images, you can check this thread : https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42381-howto-post-images-in-threads-using-imgur-easy/ .
  15. Off to a good start! Looking forward to seeing your build!
  16. Try it and see if it's comfortable for you with a return edge. If you don't like it, you can probaly remove it, as the CRL does not say you need one at this place. So it's a personnal preference here. The armors used in the movie had a little return edge at this place. Your ab buttons look good. The painting does not seem that bad! Plus, it was far from perfect and even on the screen used armors, too! Keep up the good work!
  17. You can use Velcro to hold foam padding inside you armor (instead of using glue directly on armor/foam). Like this, you can always remove the foam if you don't need it, or you can also change the foam piece if you need a bigger one, for example. And as Daniel said, look at some overall photos and try to get that look while your pieces are padded. You might need to put foam at the top and at the bottom of some pieces so that they look even, as some other pieces might just need some padding in the middle or on one side, for example. Try it on yourself while holding the foam using some tape, and by trial and error you'll find what lookas the best in the end!
  18. Elastic might also stretch a little bit over time, depending on the quality of the elastic you'll use - some will stretch more than others. This may result in initial measurements not always remaining exact and changing a bit the fit of the armor. However, like Daniel said, if that happens, you can always change the elastic! Good nylon might be a bit more "strong" over time. It will hold your stuff in place, but will also be a bit less flexible movement-wise than elastic. I think both are good for different situations - depends what you're looking for! ^^
