  1. I think sometime ago it was showed on a SW Sci-Fi expo... I remember seeing it in a picture besides some other minor props in a glass box. If I remember correctly, it was just a plastic circular hinge like thing. Maybe someone remembers better. Saludos
  2. Thx borthers. About the frown on the other troopers, it is painted silver for some reason, so it looks like it is not painted in pictures. Will post more progress soon. Saludos.
  3. Thx bro... Time for a real update after a year or so... I trimmed the back of the shins' tops and the lower back end of one of the thighs to emulate what we see on TKs on the Tantive IV. Also painted white the balck elastics inside the thighs and the shoulder bells. And finally started the weathering on one shin, making trials with old newspaper I kept for more than a year to do this. Starting to look good I think. Let me know what do you think. Saludos.
  4. Finally decided to make myself finish this armor and set a deadline for me tu submit my EIB and Centurion applications. Not much still to do building wise, just a lot of weathering and detailing. I hope to have this donde in the next 4 weeks. Lets see. In the mean time, here is a picture of my last troop, this last saturday during the Star Wars Rebels premiere event in Mexico City. Hope you can tell which one I am. At this time it was my TM armor with my Cap-W set for stun replica bucket. Saludos
  5. Yep, you are right Paul. I did not come all the way here to not do it all the way. Or whaterver... LOL. You get the idea. Saludos
  6. Yep! They will match the armor for sure. My concern is if replica weathering and damage would be to much for Centurion, or is that fine. The CRL doesn't explicitly defines that. But coming from the SWAT program, I know I can go to the limit (and probably will) of "prop forging", but was in the understanding that was too much for centurion at some point. Won't go ahead of myself yet. Lets see how my armor and boots come out first. Saludos and THX bro.
  7. THX Eric, that will be very useful. I don't want a pristine white paint job. I rather want the chipping off and scratching that shows the black underneath, and the scuffy look of the real wardrobe. Something like this: And might even be something like this... but don't know yet. Might be too much... but then again, it might be just right. So... was even considering spray paint... Or maybe painting very thick layers of Leather Paint to make it chip easier and faster. I aim for the careless paint job... The whole thing of getting this vintage boots was to paint them and make them chip to show the black under the white. Anyone has gone this way... I mean, there are many that has done it, but, anyone has any good ideas? A lot of research lies in front of me before actually starting to paint them. Thx Saludos PS. Just curious, would such kind of paint job be fine for Centurion? Considering it will match my armor's look of course.
  8. Boots arrived. Unfortunately, they were not Stuarts but Coles. Anyway, they do look the part and think will be great placeholders until I find a pair of original Stuarts. Now, need to find out how to better paint them white. Saludos.
  9. The final two parts of my E11 to be modified are done, now it is all up to fitting, painting and weathering... Also, for the armor, it is only a matter of trimming the back of the shins on the back of the knee part and weathering... soon. Saludos
  10. Thx for your comments. Here are a few picts of my resin power cylinders by PlayfulWolfCub. They are awesome. I now only need to finish them and add them to my E11. What do you think? Saludos.
  11. Back on track, last night I won this pair of boots over ebay. I know this are not 100% accurate, and even if they look like they coulb be, I sm not sure they are Stuarts. But they look the part and are the closets Ive seen im 2+ years searchimg the net for them. What do you think? They should arrive soon... Lets see how they really work for my TK. Saludos.
  12. Cool... This is great and makes sense the way I understand the detachment programs. Level 2 for the looks, Level 3 for whatever makes it more accurate, could be in or outside. THX. Saludos
  13. I am not going against you bro, but against the requirement going into the EIB CRL. I know about the FX bucket issue and what you have been doing about it, as you can see for yourself too. About that, thing is it looks like the LMO can pretty much do what he wants as his word seems to be law... Too bad he has a personal agenda with the FX it seems. On the issue of changing armor, most mexican troopers make their own armor and not really get it from makers (why I dont know) but they will have to build new moulds, papekura or heavily modify some parts. They strive to make accurate armor from scratch, sometimes recasting, sometimes modifying and recatsing... I dont agree with most of this, but that's the reality... That is why we only have 1 mexican trooper with EIB but lots of them are working to get there. This will mean a delay no matter what. Saludos.
  14. I might not be really affected by this, but I see almost 90% of the Tks in mexican garrison that have been working to acieve EIB will be. And now, they will probably have to either get a new armor or not go for EIB. And that in my point of view, goes against the whole idea of the levels and even detachments. We are here to make it easier to get more accurate, not the other way around. This needs to be taken to Centurion level. Also, if it is so easy to "take Stormtrooper armor to the next level" and it only requires a chat among the DL and the LMO to make it official amd part pf the CRL, why not just pen down the grandfathering of FX helmets? That would take legion's Tk armor to the next level. Saludos. Saludos.
  15. I have been very confused on this subject for some years now. I do have what was supposed to be the original theatrical release versions of all 3 OT movies on DVD. They are, afaik, the original versions. No "a new hope" title, you can see quiet clearly all the cardboard standees on several scenes, including the medal scene at the end of ANH. And so much more. These were released maybe 5 or 7 years ago in a double disk set per version. Disk 1 was the remastered enhanced SE version, disk 2 was the original version. The three were sold separately. And came after the DVD set released in 2004. This is quiet usual in Mexico, but it seems that no one else has it in other countries. No bootlegs, real official LFL Fox versions. Are these not really the teathrical versions? Or do I have gold here? Btw, it was announced as a very limited run available for limited time, but reality is that it was available for around a year in every store. Just wondering. Saludos.
  16. Lol!!! Reality shows are still shows. They have castings, writers, scripts, directors, consultants and a crew... Ah. And of course, everyone on camera is either an actor or a person instructed to act. No surprise this is as fake as any other fiction show. Saludos.
  17. I use one, but not with the amp but with a midland two-way radio, set up similar to the one used by many paintball and speedball enthusiasts. Works great even under the neck seal. I guess it should work fine with the amp too. Saludos.
  18. This is amusing... But then again? Why are you building it like that? Is there a hidden joke/statement I don't yet see? Saludos.
  19. My suit will replicate the looks of the Tantive IV troopers. Not one in specific but the overall look of the real suit. With all the gaffer's tape, the skid marks and the anomalies. My Sandtrooper armor is a move along replica as seen on the mos eisley roadblock. I love it I would not want it any other way. Also, troopers in my garrison like my armors. Both of them. And even people in troops and events, even if they don't really know why, they can spot the difference. Somehow lots of ppl have said that my armor has that something that just looks better. More familiar. They don't know what it is, but I do. The anomalies. Saludos.
  20. I was on the understanding that putting armor in boiling water would change something in the plastic that would make it yellow faster. I have always used a hair drier when I needed to heat up parts and mod them... But, I am no plastic expert. Most of the times I just cut, try and assemble parts... Saludos
