  1. Hey I like that silver color scheme too! I just kinda screams 'Star Wars' to me. The final revisions shown with the center blue stripe whether silver or maroon are all really nice though.
  2. And don't forget that you can have the ugliest mug in town, but still look good in a picture (helmet on of course!)
  3. It strongly resembles a National Defense Service Medal...
  4. Also, don't even consider buying anything until you've been through this forum from top to bottom! Once you've really dug through and done your homework you won't have to ask questions about what type of armor is good or bad. You'll just need a lead on where to buy... You should be dreaming about this website. Get to work cadet! You've got lots of work to do!
  5. Yep, barely fit for a one-time Halloween costume. But then, who would spend a grand on a one-time costume? I could think of much better things to blow that much cash on in the space of one night. Break that wad up into singles and head to your local pole dancing academy. That's a lot of $1 bills that could find their way into...well you get the idea!
  6. Take all the ventilation you can get bro!
  7. Hmm...I'm having a difficult time with this thread. Was there originally a picture posted, or another thread? That's what I get for not checking in every hour of every day I guess!
  8. Hmm, worked on mine. I guess it's all up to how you're going about your build. I wanted to be able to take mine off and on when they need repainting. It's called a mod. And as far as not fitting AP...AP doesn't fit itself, as anyone who has put it together can attest! Really nice amor though once you beat it into submission...
  9. Where are you trying to post pictures too? i.e. photobucket, flicr, etc. I'd like to see those All-Con pictures too!
  10. That's AP that has the bump. TE2 comes 'oh so perfect'! Really nice looking helmet! I love TE2's!
  11. I would definitely go the movie accurate route. Try and get your hands on a TE2 and you won't be disappointed if you're worried about size. Again, like Terrell said, the bottom can be trimmed anyway no matter which one you go with. Maybe one day Fx will go back to the drawing board on their bucket (or at least mod out the current one to make it more accurate). I remember the first time I saw someone wearing an Fx. I thought 'Whoa your head is big'...
  12. Excellent job! Congrats on your EIB! You have a really fine looking set of TK armor there!
  13. No, it doesn't need the buttons. The buttons are formed on the plate (you would have to paint them). But, most everyone buys VaderDaves ab buttons to install for a much better look.
  14. Hmm, that's a pretty small tube there. I would probably recommend two of the 2 fl. oz. size tubes if you're ordering it online. That .18 oz tube will run out before you know it. They come in even bigger sizes then that online as well. I used a lot of E6000 on my AP. I also used a good bit of the plastic weld as well. The good thing about that E6000 is that it's permanent until you don't want it to be. The plastic weld is just plain old permanent!
  15. I'll agree with the FISD's civil nature. I think it's about the friendliest forum on the 'net (and not just the 501st/prop forums either). The group dynamics here have always been really good, and it seems to me that it carries on with each new member.
  16. Did you just receive your romfx new from John? I'm waiting on one too. There's been a hold up over the last few weeks and I wondered if yours was from the same batch. He said they should be out in the post soon... I have my fingers crossed for a troop this weekend...
  17. I agree with that too! There's different buckets out there you can get besides AP if you're worried about a big enough size but don't want FX. Besides giving most people a bobble head look, I think it can sometimes give people a 'cartoonish' look. It reminds me of when you see Mickey Mouse at Disney World for the first time. It's like 'Whoa! You're bigger than I remember on the TV!' But in the end, you have to go with what makes YOU happy!
  18. One thing to add as well. You can use e6000 to glue all the slip on parts together for a superstrong hold. The good thing about that type of glue is that it holds extremely well, but can be completely removed for resizing parts down the road if needed (especially after the holidays!).
  19. Oh yeah. I will never ever ever part with that neckseal! I know I'd never be able to get another like it and I'm not much good cutting leather either.
  20. Thank for the compliments everyone! As far a the neckseal, it was made by riveting right here on this forum! But, I believe he's now retired from the neckseal business. He does have a tutorial here somewhere though... I just got real lucky and got in on the run as it was starting up!
  21. Yeah, this definitely needs to be pinned! You're making all this information almost too easy too find!
