Its covered in those nonslip shelf liners. I did my old fx helmet with it and it made a big difference trooping in it. I now have it in my MRCE.

Here is a comfortable helmet liner i came up with since i didnt care for the hard hat liner that came with the kit.

Just picked up a romfx pro cheap ($100) only used for one troop. Man that thing is nice. THe only drawback i see in it is that if you unplug the batteries you have to go through and reset all your settings.
