Yeah but wouldn't that end up being a 'Heavy Weapons Trooper With Sand In His Underwear? That deserves a status all its own!

TK-6546 Requesting Elite Status.[61][AP]
tatooine replied to tatooine's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Thanks guys! But, you know the problem with finishing one project is...getting that itch for another one!! And I do LOVE that TE2 (thank the Maker!) bucket! I'm waiting on a ROM/FX voice system to get here for it. I just wish I'd have gotten it before All-Con this weekend. We have the West Texas food bank drive at the end of the month so maybe by then... -

TK-6546 Requesting Elite Status.[61][AP]
tatooine replied to tatooine's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Thanks everyone! I'd like to say a special thank you to one of my squad mates, Imperial Knight Jajj, for pointing me to the FISD in the beginning. It I hadn't stumbled here I'd have ended up somewhere much worse (searches on the internet will drop you off to some very unsavory places if you don't know any better). I'm so glad that I did my research!!!! Thanks to everyone for the compliments. I couldn't have done it without your expertise! Now it's time to get troopin'! Anyone know when the next shuttle leaves for the Death Star? -

Whew, ok. Here's the pictures of the belt above the butt plate and the back plate just above the kidney plate. Sorry the pictures didn't turn out as good as my others but I did this on my lunch break. Sorry I'm late boss! And yes, TK-6546 seems to have a bubble butt so go easy! -

Roger that! Gotta get thru a boring work day first (don't they know I have better things to do?). I'll get a new pic this evening. Thanks guys! -

These 501st numbers were free as of October 2008
tatooine replied to synaptyx's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Wow, that is a pain trying to find a free number. I know it's kind of cool being able to choose your own, but at this point wouldn't it just be easier to assign them? Nobody chooses their driver's license number or a social security number. Cops don't pick their badge numbers. I certaintly didn't pick my Visa account number. Anyone else think that would be easier? -
99% done with my AP build[*AP]
tatooine replied to tatooine's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Thanks for the support! I added some more pics of my TE2 bucket and E-11. Here's the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/20570582@N05/...57614785706063/ I've also made some more tweaks today on the armor. Tomorrow the glue should be cured on the mods so I can throw the armor on again for better pics. Seems like every time I put the armor on I find better ways of doing things (along with advice from here of course!). Hopefully, I can get the armor and pics just right for my 501st submission. Sorry about posting a link but I'm having trouble getting flickr to imbed pics! I'm not having any trouble with photobucket, but I'll have to move my photos over to that site... -
99% done with my AP build[*AP]
tatooine replied to tatooine's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Thanks Smitty! Yep, I have some other photos, but I need to change the background to something lighter. I also got another camera (ouch $$). I can move that strap up no problem on the shoulder bells. I got a tripod stand now so no more fumbling for the timer button. My other camera bit the dust before I could get some blaster shots as well. I've built the armor up towards elite so fingers crossed once the time comes. TK# first! -
Well, been working on this before the holidays and now I'm just about done! I'm a single parent on active duty so I don't get to work as obsessively on this stuff as I'd like. I've only got a few pics of my progress due to knocking the camera off the stand it was on. Mighty hard getting into a TK costume and take pictures of yourself WITH NO HELP!! Needless to say my camera is now taking pictures like some old 1930's camera (you can tell on the action photo). Also, I realize some parts of my armor ended up shifting. My belt got crooked, my left shin tried to make a right turn, and my butt...well, don't know what to do about it. <_< Anyhow, I'm almost done. I just need to figure out what pics the 501st needs to approve, pick out some TK numbers, and submit the application once I get some adjusted photos. I just figured I'd share a bit of my soon to be triumph! http://www.flickr.com/photos/20570582@N05/3329087829/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/20570582@N05/3329087839/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/20570582@N05/3329087847/

501st TK CRL: official and now posted
tatooine replied to Daetrin's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
CRL excerpt: - Thighs - white armored thigh covers that close in the back (the right thigh piece must have an ammo belt at the bottom) - Shins - white armored shin/calf covers that close in the back (the right shin plate must have a polygon-shaped knee plate at the top) Isn't the knee plate, aka 'sniper plate' supposed to be on the left side? I'd be kinda hard walking with the knee plate banging up against the ammo thigh piece. Or am I reading this wrong? <_< -
Thanks for updating my status. If it weren't for this site, my garage would be heaped full of useless plastic! Thanks for all the hard work you site maintainers and admin folks put into keeping the Empire recruiting and educating newbies such as myself!

WHATS THE BEST WAY TO CUT THE PLASTIC?
tatooine replied to ladyscout's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
I just picked up a set of those scissors too. Thanks for the link Stuka. I had looked for those in my local area, but all the curved ones for sale around here are for sewing. One more tool to add to my arsenal. I like the score and snap method myself, but the curves get tricky (the scissors will make those 10X easier I think). I mainly use my dremel for rounding off ANH strips or other such tasks. You can never have too many tools! -
Ah, it's good to get positive feedback on these. Mines on the way as well! Can't wait for it to get here. I was glad to be able to pick up one of his last few available...

Texas....Arggg!!! Now it's 34 deg and I'm stuck working in an aircraft hagar with the doors wide open! I can't feel my fingers...

I never cared for the AP sty in the eye myself. I found a little heat decreased that bump quite a lot. FYI Just my personal opinion...

70F, but possible winds up 50 knot gusts in West Texas. So tired of the wind lately... <_<

possible boots?
tatooine replied to Tiepilot1138's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
You need something more like this: ----------- Those boots are missing the side strip. That and the sole just isn't right (not to mention that strange looking section on the instep). Anybody else have any info on the Jodhpur boots (I know they have to be dyed)? -
Hey, at least someone from your house will be able to bring it in from the front porch! Otherwise, the kid down the street might end up sportin' a new 'trooper lid!
