  1. Thanks for this Joseph - I just got approved, hoping to get out to my first troop soon
  2. TK-22610 requesting access.<br><br> <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=22755'>http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=22755</a><br><br> Cheers!
  3. How did you get hold of your hyperfirm, Danny? I'm toying with the idea of ordering one, but I've heard inconsistent reports about whether they get stopped by customs here in Canadialand.
  4. Dropbox lets you post public links.
  5. Planning to head over to Hamilton on Saturday, I'll keep my eyes open for the tall Jawa [emoji6]
  6. Sounds like your classic case of co-worker jealousy to me, someone doesn't like you being more visible and getting credit. So glad I don't have to deal with office politics BS any more. Don't close down this thread, it's one of my favourites - and will continue to be useful for new builders like me going forward.
  7. Ate you hearing any noise from the fans over the mic with them being so close together?
  8. I've just ordered a pair of those glove liners - I was wondering what I was going to do about sweating under the rubber ones, those seem perfect. Thank you!
  9. I didn't know SHIELD had a trooper division lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Shipping is $250 to Canada - I was all ready to sign up for the payment plan until I saw that. Lol, nope. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Sorry, I saw that you had a Jawa too so I figured you must be on the shorter side. We went with Mark's kit because from the research it seems his is better suited to trimming to shorter people - she's 5'4. It's great to know he's so helpful, he's been really good with the contact I've had with him so far. She also has a fairly large chest, so I imagine we'll be running into a lot of the issues you've been hitting. Thanks for the help!
  12. WOW, that was SO good. Awesome job to all involved
  13. Thanks for posting this thread Angie, we're going to be building an AP kit for my girlfriend who's also fairly short This is going to be invaluable....
  14. We've ordered a set from AP. Can't wait to get started
  15. Cheers We're definitely going to be shooting for EIB for both our kits at the minimum.
  16. Good to know, we may well be picking your brains when the time comes if that's ok
  17. Cheers Chris She's only 5'4" but she is... ahem... "fuller chested". I believe she's got an email out to Mark now.
  18. We may well end up doing that. The final choice will come down to cost and waitlist time
  19. Thanks everyone for all the useful info. We're both itching to get started
  20. Cheers Brad. My RS is coming in PVC, but it seems most vendors use ABS so I expect the kit we get for her will be in that. As long as it's resilient enough for trooping I'm not too fussed. We're hoping to be there - we'll have impatient kids in tow so won't be able to stick around long, but long enough to check out some armour and make some introductions I hope
  21. My girlfriend wants in on the action, so we're trying to decide which kit to get for her - we figure it'll be a fun project to keep us busy over the winter. The price is right for the Anovos kit, but she's short (5'4") so we know there's going to be a fair bit of trimming involved. Given that neither of us are experienced builders, and I have two left thumbs, I'm anticipating there'll be more than one screw up and replacement parts will be needed. Do anovos sell replacement parts individually? I can't tell from their website, although given everything is always in pre-order runs I'm not optimistic. Would we better off paying the higher price for a different kit with better parts availability? Is there anyone that's recommended over others on that front? I've also read here at least once that their bucket from the January run is starting to crack already - is that common? Cheers, Paul
  22. Cheers Chris. I'm in touch with a few members from the Toronto area, and we're hoping to get to see some armour up close at their next event in Hamilton.
  23. Thanks so much . We know we're going to need to do some trimming as she's "fun size" (5'4", her words not mine ). I think we'll avoid that one, given that neither of us are experienced builders at all, and if it's no longer in production sourcing replacement parts for the inevitable screwups will be a nightmare.
