  1. I tried and tried to contact him to buy parts for my AM 2.0 armor. I couldn't even get the dude to respond back, let alone get any information. Seems once you buy from him, your on you own. Before I received my armor, I got all sorts of correspondence. After he had my money, he was done. While I really like my AM armor, I will never buy it again because of this fact. I will be getting any future armor from Walt. Walt is a great guy and extremely helpful.
  2. I cut some small pieces of ABS to use as fillers inside the ribs. I used two pieces thick and glued them in the ribs and that was flush with the inside of the strap. It ads more glueing surface and eliminates most of the air. This also makes for a much stronger bond with the E6000.<br> My armor is AM 2.0 as well, but you may need to use more or less filler pieces depending on your ABS thickness and depth of the ribs for your particular armor.
  3. You can also get detailing clay from auto parts stores such as Pep Boys, AutoZone and places like that.
  4. I haven't tried it, but I read here that oven cleaner works well in removing paint from ABS.
  5. I watched it, paused it and everything. While I'm certain now white was used thanks to the pictures Locitus posted, I'm thinking black was used as well. Sciences where I thought I should see white, I did not. That's why I'm not sold that white was used exclusively. I'm going to do more research and see where it leads.
  6. He hasn't been online. I do not believe he is recasting. I believe his molds are his own creation. Nobody has proved him to be a recaster. Innocent until proven guilty in my book, not guilty until proven innocent. My next armor kit I get, I am planning to get it from him.
  7. Received my boots from Imperial Boots and I did order one size larger than my regular size. They fit perfectly!
  8. The CRL for level three states "Chest and back shall be connected with a white fabric or preferably elastic strap at the shoulders."<br> Where does this come from? I've been studying the OT for armor details and from what I can see, white straps were not used but rather they used black straps. Granted often times it's difficult to tell, but in scenes where you do get a glimpse, I do not think white was used. I could be wrong, but I would like others to give their opinions please.
  9. She will live forever in our hearts and in our minds.
  10. Just to clarify about the Husky box, I assume you are talking about the one that is 37" long and is supposed to be a 50 gal capacity.
  11. I'm not sure what is going on in your area, but the Home Depot near me has 8 of them in stock. <br> The Stanley box is also available on Amazon and at a better price last time I saw it.
  12. After much aggravation and grief on my part, I have finally figured a way to post pictures on this and other forums using my Android device. Hooray!!!<br> I thought I would share what I came up with and hopefully it will help others. <br> I tried photobucket and hated it!! I was slammed with ads. <br> I tried Tapatalk, but I had something and still don't know what set wrong in my settings for it to work. <br> I tried Imgur, no go either. <br> After many foul words and spitting, I found something that did work. My problem all along was the pictures I was taking were too large of a format to post on a forum. Like the saying goes "there's a app for that". Lol!<br> I found a app that not only allowed me to shrink the size of my pictures but saved my sanity. <br> It's called "Resize" and it is free in the play store. <br> You can resize all the photos on your mobile device. Cool thing about using this to shrink your pictures, not only will you be able to post on a forum, but if your emailing or texting a picture, it will download or send much faster. <br> If you are trying to post pictures here using a mobile device and you have shrunk them down to size, you must switch from mobile version to desktop or full version. <br> Hope this helps somebody!
  13. Something I've noticed about kits similar to this is the butt plate and kidney plate are one piece. According to the CRL, they must be two separate pieces.
  14. I'm currently building my first armor (as life and time allows) and I can tell you, if I can do it, so can you. There's a huge wealth of knowledge to be found here and tons of videos on YouTube some of these guys have done to help you along the way. Plus, any questions you might have can be asked here and these guys are extremely helpful. Then you also have members that live near your area from your local garrison that I'm certain would be willing to give you any further assistance you might need. Then when your finished, you have something to be around of that YOU built. <br> I'm looking forward to getting mine finished and wanting to build another afterwards with my new found knowledge.
  15. Not sure if it's still available, but somebody had a death trooper helmet for sale on the RPF forum a few days ago at a reasonable price.
  16. Are the straps that attach to the thighs web straps or elastic straps? And do you use suspenders attached to your belt?
  17. I didn't know they had anything "in stock". Sounds like bull puckey to me.
  18. I was just curious about it really. When I get time, I would like to experiment with welding plastic. I figure if I can perfect it and find out the pros and cons of it, it might be a useful tool to have in the the war chest. May also be very beneficial for the membership here to have another method of repair. There may be times when welding may be a better choice than paste I was thinking. I like to experiment with things sometimes. I have a inquisitive mind. Lol.
  19. I would maybe look at WTF armor I'm thinking. Contact Walt here on the FISD and he will be able to answer your question. IMO, Walt's kit prices aren't to hateful either for the quality.
  20. I appreciate the help everyone! Thanks! I guess I will be ordering from Imperial!
  21. I'm about ready to order my TK boots. What are your thoughts on TKboots or Imperial Boots??<br> I wear a size 9US. As I understand it TKboots is a bit wide at the top. If this is true, I will go with Imperial Boots. I don't want to have to deal with a problem of having difficulty getting my boots to fit inside of my calves. What experiences or advice do you all have to offer?
