then what looks like will be time consuming the belt + boxes and TD. currently investigating if a fabric belt much like the standard TK belt can be attached to the plastic outer parts of the belt system and go for snaps to the main front plate again like a standard TK -

We spent the evening un-boxing and cleaning down all the Armour parts and have grouped them as how we want the build to progress.. Helmet first off but will will be going to and from this during the build i.e. during curing times of other parts -
Well its BBB day for the wife, she will be doing a WIP within her local garrison but as i am helping through out the build, thought i would post here as well so I/we can get additional feedback along the way. we managed to get hold of a old untouched KW kit which was marked #005 and helmet #006 and boots. whole thread will probably be pic heavy and will try and lay it out well due to experience from my build thanks for looking

looking good trooper but would have to agree with you that the shoulder straps seem to be a bit long and also again with the forearms. Don't know if that effects basic clearance though. i would now start looking through the expert/centurion photo listing and start working through them quite a few shots required. Also which gets mentioned quite a lot if you haven't done it already add some felt to the clips on your TD saves your Armour when trying to position it

Voice amp placement within armor?
Chopper857 replied to SyntaxisDan's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
I used some foam spacers for the amp to sit on (no sound vibration) then using some off cuts, 2 inch elastic and a good lot of E6000 made a strap loop, the Velcro is there for my wireless receiver to stick to ----------- -
No problem with the original strapping method it's what I used (got to re add my photos to build thread due to photobucket). With that system I was able to play around with the sizes of the elastic loops just for a little bit more adjustment

Also have a look at crickets and fragarocks builds good solid info on alterations

Hi there, things are looking a lot better in terms of placement , I think your good to move forward as it is, once the clamps are off the OII plate will sit better try a test fit wearing your under suit or some cheap compression leggings as for gaps at the back you should be ok at this stage I think shims will be required on the sides of he kidney plate to gain EIB And centurion but just check the crls. Are you using the original strapping sysytem ?? ( brackets and elastics)
-
Hi Hans, to me it looks like your rear section back/kidney/butt are all sitting to far up your body, what is the current gap you have between your chest and back plate across the shoulders ?? should at least be around 50 mm you can mock this up with duct tape. check the photo below for alignment example the kidney plate will nearly always pull in with your belt as well, additional gap can be dealt with using shims mate. would take a look at thighs when the main body is sorted as they may not need any adjustment ---------

RS Commission Approval Issues
Chopper857 replied to SithlordMango's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I agree with Bulldog it looks like your calves/shins could be possibly to big, but with all the tweaks you are currently doing I would always test fit with your boots on mate, the tops of the boots can sometimes play havoc with positioning -
sorry bit late but think i have identified everything in your strapping pack, i sure some one will chip in if i have a bit wrong

ANH Stunt Stormtrooper - A build in Belgium
Chopper857 replied to JS1's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
yep thats the one, have a look into a few of the centurion submissions there will be photos of peoples clam-shells opened up for additional reference, you can then bring the kidney and butt plate up thus reducing the gap across your shoulders check out the alignment of the kidney plate to front lower chest plate as well in photo above -

hi johan look like you still have a lot to work with in the lower chest plate return cod area which in turn will move the plate in and up will try and edit your pic to show you the pic below is not the best shot but if you look across from the top of the thigh you should see what i mean -

Chopper857 replied to JS1's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
ok there is a few things that could be tried first of all, if under suit is on order what about a cheap pair of compression leggings that is what i used for my build phase. with that in mind i would then look a the return edge in the cod piece area reducing this to say 5 mm which will give better placement of your main lower chest piece to start with which in turn might bring the butt and kidney plates up slightly as well. Again adjust the neckline return to around 5 mm again and the increase the gap across the shoulders try 3 inch's this time you do have room for maneuver due to the coverage of the shoulder strips -

Do you have your undersuit yet ?? Would suggest now your working on sizing that you wear it this will give clearer indication of fit and placement. As Joesph suggested it's normal to have a 2 inch gap between chest and back in the shoulder area this should help the back plate drop down towards the kidney plate. Have a look a the EIB and centurion submissions there is normally good close up shots of the shoulder area. -
Like everyone is suggesting time/patience is the key believe me it pays off in the long run, check out the centurion submissions there are quite a few for RS including mine, that will give a good overview for strap and bracket placement and help you find other build threads to review. If you haven't already considered it shoot for centurion yourself. When I can get on my laptop will try and number the straps for you. The plastic bits for your gloves you are holding are now not required as centurion level gloves came with the strapping pack from RS

Now doing fitment of Tramp unit, used some leftover helmet adding to help with positioning and stuck in place then checked alignment then made 2 inch elastic strap glued to chest piece with a supporting off cut over the top once this has cured will double check total length of elastic required
