  1. Sounding great! I knew this could be done glad you are taking this on. May have to get some more arduinos.
  2. Just got the shipping notification for the OT TK soft parts they are on the way. Forgot to mention the important piece of information they are coming USPS apparently not FEDEX.
  3. Interested to see the rarely used hinge and gate lock strapping method! Looks great so far.
  4. a little further south than you in Va ordered on the 30th my kit arrived yesterday as well.
  5. Yes, even with a ruler be careful and take your time. Like Airborne said, I would suggest clamping the ruler to the piece if at all possible.
  6. I am in the it's not a big deal camp. Unless you are four feet two nobody will see you from a top down angle anyway. Should it have been corrected absolutely and perhaps it's something they can adjust in the future. It would be easier to buy another bucket than to fix that if you were so inclined.
  7. Well, he did say "probably". Looks like he fell into the funeral pyre to save Vader's helmet for Kylo.
  8. First read that as you stuck your finger up her nose.... much less mortified the second time I read it. lol. Good job!
  9. Yes and chances are someone has the same question you do and when it gets answered we all benefit. Looking forward to the build!
  10. There we go, figured it was the eFx making those teeth look huge. Thanks for the pic.
  11. Love the lid, there is something going on with the teeth or maybe the eFx is throwing it off, but I am happy to see the final product. Looks great to me.
  12. With visibility at a premium already I doubt sunglasses would be a viable option. They would probably fog up quickly etc. Perhaps some UV film that you could layer on the backside of the lenses but then again that may alter the lens appearance or color and a quick google search didn't pull any options. I have seen some mirrored lenses on some tk's before not 501st approved or accurate but if its a big concern may be an option to just cut some lenses out of a pair of sunglasses and attach to the helmet, if you could find sunglasses with a green hue then you would be in business.
  13. That picture has to be the underside of the pauldron right? I mean nobody would make one with that quilted pattern that was made to be seen.
  14. That is how I started with my Jango fett the funny thing was after finishing the helmet and doing the various pieces I ended up upgrading and selling my original helmet. TK's are a little different when it comes to that so I think it's definitely the way to go. Might also help you decide if you even want to go the rest of the way.
  15. And there is the point I always make when this kind of discussion comes about, (highlighted in red for clarity) where do we draw the line between screen accurate and well, that just looks stupid. I am not adding white duct / gaffers tape or anything like that to my armor so let's be a little less screen accurate for the sake of wear ability and look. We are supposed to look the part to the masses and I know we do a great job with that, We keep out the Rubies and people in cardboard boxes without heavy modification; however before we say "Anovos is setting our hobby back years or that we should break out our fx suits," let's get them in our hands, we still haven't gotten a close look at the final product and those kinds of statements, although I understand the nature of our community and our constant push for screen accuracy, are broad baseless statements that may drive people away from our community altogether. Branding us as unhelpful elitists which believe me isn't good for anyone. Some of our brothers still have fx suits just replaced the helmet.
  16. See that link in JustJoseph63's signature, right above your last post? Click it for your kit you will need some if not all of the stuff listed there.
  17. There is some gold to be found in these videos, I watched them all without building a thing and will certainly use many of the tips. They are an invaluable source for us thank you for them!
  18. Oh and since we live in an over pc world I will clarify that this isn't to say there aren't other boot makers that make a fine quality product,I just know my tkboots are phenomenal and for a nice leather boot affordable!
  19. Order from tk boots yes you may have to wait but this kit will take some time to build this isn't going to come together overnight. Save your money and buy quality trust me, it's going to be a while before you are done this kit isn't snap together. By the time you have researched again referenced again and measured twice to cut once, hopefully you are going to do that, the boots will be there.
  20. Yeah, either way I'm in at 100.00 for a kit maybe two never can have enough lids for display customizing etc. I think what Anovos is doing is exciting. Lots of new TK's on the horizon.
  21. Looking good it's always good to see how others solve problems when they arise. Looking forward to the finished product.
  22. Just remember less is more. You can take more off but you can't really put it back on.
