  1. Has anyone ever tried to build a costume of a Lego stormtrooper? I wonder how easy it would be... The body seems pretty straight forward, but what about the helmet?
  2. If already thought of the trash bag too. Like a suit bag; small hole for the hanger and open at the bottom. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I used one of these paint can hooks mounted to the wall. The hook is big enough to fit around the oil pan handle. https://www.amazon.com/Hyde-Tools-45110-Swivel-Paint/dp/B000JMW17E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1469490295&sr=8-2&keywords=paint+can+hook
  4. Thanks Allan. I actually removed the clips. I don't like white so I'm remaking them in black.
  5. Ok, so I did a fit trial today. I think I'm ready for approval submission. I noticed the belt pouch little velcro corner wasn't secured; I'll have to take a look at that. Either my wife didn't stick it or it came off. I also need to have her learn to align things right when she puts them on (shoulder bells in this case). Good think everything is velcro. Please let me know if you guys notice anything that I need to fix. Thanks.
  6. Have you had any problems with the paint coming off the plastic? The tote plastic is glass filled nylon and things don't stick well to that kind of material. My decals are starting to peel so I was wondering about the paint.
  7. Just to close the loop on attaching the MP40 pouches: I ended up making some Velcro straps as shown. Thanks for all the help.
  8. The rest of the AM kit is a breeze compared to the helmet. It's all down hill from here!
  9. There is a guy on Facebook who makes these custom with you own picture. His name is Gareth Wood. I haven't contacted him yet but I plan to.
  10. I ended up getting pre-approval to use the one on the left for HWT and the one on the right for TK. All I need to do is buy another canvas belt and one will have the holster holes and the HWT one will not. I'll settle for that.
  11. How many and where exactly did you drill the holes? I recognize the part of the ear, I'm wondering if it's just a couple of holes or a lot of them.
  12. Thanks. Mine looked pretty big but I'll try squeezing them this weekend.
  13. How did you put mesh in? Mine seems quite a bit bigger diameter than the tips.
  14. I started my build about 2 months ago and am ready for approval. I couldn't have done it without Tony's builds for sure! At least not so quickly. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. I just got approval from my Garrison leader; I can use the belt on the left for HWT, and the one on the right for TK. I just need to purchase two canvas belts; one of them will have the holster attached (TK), the other will not (HWT). Thanks for all the help guys. Hopefully this will be useful to someone else in the future. (yet another case of unclear or lacking specifications on little tiny details).
  16. Joseph, Regarding the belt conversion, how is it acceptable to have the holes for the holster on the canvas belt when you are a HWT? I was planning on getting HWT approval, then making the necessary changes to get TK approval, but I realized that I wound need to punch holes in the belt to mount the TK holster. The holes can't be hidden when you remove the holster. Once the holes are there, wouldn't I "void" my HWT approval? I don't mind spending the money to buy another canvas belt for TK, but having the little holes for the holster when you're a HWT doesn't seem like a big enough deal to spend the extra money.
  17. So you just remove the plastic part each time and switch between canvas belts?
  18. I'm asking about the 2 different belts and square cover styles in my picture. Did you use those two different sets to make your two belts or did you purchase a duplicate plastic belt and squares? Obviously each belt would have its own canvas belt. For example: Belt 1 for TK: plastic belt with the small dimples and the squares with the larger diameter and the holster and drop boxes. The belt on the right in the first picture with the button on the top in the second picture. Belt 2 for HWT: the belt on the left (with recessed square area) with the lower square covers (with smaller circle) and then add the pouch. It would be nice not to have to try and purchase an additional plastic belt and squares. I'll order the canvas belt today.
  19. Did you duplicate what you had for the TK or just use the other pieces?
  20. With the Dremel; shave it down to a sharper point on each side.
  21. I also ground down the "bottom" of the ear where it goes under the helmet to try to close the gap. That might help. ( the area near the bottom screw in the ear)
  22. UKswrath is saying that it should be the one without the recessed area and that I need to take the "larger" squares and put them on the flat belt with the dimples. Perhaps I'll use that belt for the TK (with the holster and drop boxes attached) and buy another canvas belt and use the indented belt with the smaller squares for HWT if it doesn't matter. That way I don't have to worry about drop boxes and the pouch when I switch between the two. The CRL for HWT and TK aren't specific with enough detail. What do you guys think?
  23. I'm just going for basic. The indented one would be fine, right? What about the square covers. Which ones?
  24. I agree above; the plastics could vary. Buy the new kit. Make you son pay the Craig's List price and you kick in the up charge for the Anovos.
