  1. Well, in a bit of a diversion to the rest, you can extract the mic, amp and sound board from the old hasbro (??) helmets (captain Rex, clone trooper, etc). That is how I got mine. Check out the thread I made back in July 2016 if it helps, that is, if you still want a static burst effect
  2. Comes to about $530 for the armor, as for helmet, I can't remember! Great customer service though! The waiting times for me are currently capping at 11 months, so be sure to keep that in mind
  3. So, last year I found a trailer for this documentary by speechless films. It's called Heroes of the Empire which is all about the 501st, and it says that its release date is 2016. Its nearly 2017 now and there's still no sign of the film. Anyone here know anything else about it? Thanks! Here's a link to the trailer : https://youtu.be/Z7TG0u4K60Q
  4. Hey BrinkHouse, did you finish the film? If so, where can I view it? Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
  5. Hey there ukswrath, while thats truly a brilliant offer, I dont currently have that kind of money on me at the minute! I was thinking of something more along the lines of DIY, as my budget is very tight. Do you know of any way to implement a Sound Activated Relay? Thanks Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks guys! Means alot! Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
  7. Sorry no! I haven't, i was referring to my issue with writing the topic! You aren't late Ukswrath!! No worries! Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
  8. No worries, I've sorted the writing issue Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
  9. Okay I've edited this post twice, can I ask if anything beyond 'DIY my helmet mods' ?? Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
  10. So, I have decided, with no experience with electronics whatsoever to DIY all my helmet mods. So far so good! My only problem is with my static activation. Currently I'm having to press and hold a button down, which along with the wires and circuitry, is inconvenient and may look a little suspicious. I'm thinking that I could instance some kind of sound dependent resistor (yay for GCSE physics) so that when I talk into the mic, the static activates. My tech teacher suggested a 'Sound Activated Relay' but is this the (sorry) cheapest or even most effective option? Thanks guys!
  11. For all of us here, and many others, turns out he was the droid we were looking for. Rest in peace Kenny, you shall be missed. Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
  12. Ha! My 'office' is currently storing my Lego and record collections. I mean, I use it for work.. Sometimes
  13. Hello FISD! So its been nearly three months since I was last on here, and in that time I've done quite a lot! In brief, I have installed fans and a mic into my bucket, alongside attending LFCC of course! I have passed every single one of my GCSEs (SATs in the states?) and I am now attending Sixth Form. As of September, I have another 5 months of waiting for my ATA armour, so I'm now just fine tuning my helmet and mods. Its good to be back!
  14. Hahaha love it Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
  15. Yeah pretty much. I'll send a photo later, but for the SBG (static burst generator) to work, the button needs to be held down (similar to a walkie talkie). I'm not entirely sure what the constant open mic would do though, would it be the same as just holding the button down?? Likewise, is there a device, such as a a LDR or Thermistor that detects sound? Because if I could install that the effect would be the same as an open mic, just without the Static. Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
  16. Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement replacement S-Trim in the UK? Thanks Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
  17. So I was doing a little digging on the FISD last night and I discovered that the Static Burst Generator in the 2009 Hasbro helmets yielded a good result for a budget build. I managed to pick a commander rex helmet up a couple of years back for £2 with all the electronics still intact. Last night I managed to, piece by piece, pry apart the helmet and get the components i needed. Now, considering eBay was charging a good £10 for just the electronics, I believe that I have found myself a bargain!! What do you guys think? I also found this cool: Be neat to see if someone could mod it into an imperial riot trooper!! <EDIT> The mic/amp setup is button operated, is there any way I can activate it with just my voice??
  18. New hokra then? (Sports Friends minigame [emoji12]) Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
  19. Hello again guys! Sooo, I went to Maplin (the British equivalent of Radioshack) and managed to get some small fans!! Both were meant to be 6V, however it seems I've ended up with a 6V and a 3V [emoji23]. Anyway, the total cost (fans, clips and batteries) came to about £20
  20. *EA cackles madly in a corner while zapping you with DLC lightning* To be fair though.... I bloody love the game, its lacking, sure, but I got it brand new for £2 (there was a discount, had some club points handy AND it was double value club points) and it looks and plays gorgeously. I'm not a FPS player, but Star Wars Battlefront (3) is great for me as its short matches (great for when having breaks between studying) and its Casual and Hardcore depending on how you play. Oh and ITS STAR WARS ON NEXT GEN. Currently playing: Fallout 4 Final Fantasy VII Star Wars Battlefront Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
  21. Fallout is a tonne of fun, but you will find yourself playing for hours at a time [emoji23] Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
