  1. Congrats Garth , fantastic work !! Hope to see you on a troop one day
  2. A bloke in our squad worked for one of the telephone companies here in Oz . He mentioned that he used to strip them out of the telephone exchanges when they refurbished them . Reckons he threw hundreds , if not thousands ,of them away
  3. Graeme , we need to get together for an armour day . Generic hobby paint probably isn't going to cut it . Your local Bunnings now stock Rustoleum , but you'll have to ask for it . The warnings on it don't comply with Australian standards , so they don't keep it on the shelves I've been using it recently , and it works a treat . I've got some primer from work that sticks to plastic really well . Grab some rustoleum and I'll come over and we can spray away
  4. Congrats Jason , you've done a great job !! Well.... someone has to do it ... the Deathstar is a grubby place .
  5. Jase , needed a break from some forums ( not this one ) , just been lurking.
  6. As always Jason , great work . Looking very nice !
  7. Nice work , Charles . That is a great looking setup . Well done , and congratulations !
  8. I have no probs sitting : or touching my toes :
  9. This has been a great read . It's nice to read peoples ideas about this subject .Thanks , Ladies and Gentlemen When I first started in this hobby , not that very long ago , I had no idea about the difference . The first time I put my armour on , then put my FX bucket on my noggin and looked in the mirror , I knew the difference right away . I have vivid memories of seeing Star Wars when I was 11 years old , and that bucket was not what I remember . I trooped once in that thing before I decided to upgrade . I know I will never have a screen accurate outfit , but I'll try my best to get as close as I can with the resources I have . Thanks to the good folk who frequent this site , I have a lot more resources to work with . Screen accurate all the way !!! Dave .

    Weekend plans

Saturday is half over for me Done my normal 4 hours of Saturday morning work . Going to have an afternoon nap very shortly . Those of you in the over 40's group will understand the need . Going to a mates place for dinner , then going to watch the football on the TV . A bottle of port , and a couple of blocks of dark chocolate may well disappear . We are doing the same thing tomorrow !! It's a big event for us , with 40 ish troopers planning to attend . Have a great weekend
  11. I'm using FF 2.something , and it's working, fine and dandy .
  12. Wow Andrea , you guys have the best troops ever !! 190 troops ? We managed to get 25 to our Garrisons annual get together last year . Amazing ! Thanks for sharing .
  13. Wow Dave , that's coming along so quickly . Well done mate !!
  14. Neil , you have to want to lose weight before it happens . You have a really good reason to lose a bit of weight , to fit into a set of armour . Cut down on eating the rubbish , do more exercise . Simple as that .
  15. Mark , great to hear you are on the way back to good health . You've been given another chance , use it well . As Paul said , it's a bit of a wake up call for all of us over 40's . Good luck mate , look after yourself
  16. Psst , any chance I could be your Aussie sub contractor ? I'll slip you a percentage
  17. Hey T , nice knee . Looks like Lord Vader enjoyed the bagpipes . Maybe we should all employ a Piper to keep him calm . Being of Scottish extract , I like the idea of having a Piper around , it is very stirring , and makes your opposition cranky .
  18. I've just had a listen . Thank you gents , you've done us proud !!
  19. Sorry boss , new thread started . I'm taking myself off to the Attitude Readjustment Chamber now . I think some alone time with a birch branch is in order Thanks Billy , it has I realise now that we all individuals , with our own shortcomings .But , as a group we are much stronger than we are as individuals . You just have to take into account how some people think . It is all about supporting your brothers ... even Stomper ... Getting back to the point ... Stomper take your time . These babies are going to be worth the wait Perhaps , to sweeten the deal, and grease the machinery , I could post over some of my mothers home made chocolate cake . I can't guarantee what condition it would be in when it got there , but chocolate cake is chocolate cake , and I know you have a weakness for it . I'd send some latex gloves to keep nail polish chocolate free , but I'm sure you've already got that covered
  20. Thanks mate Looks like I've got another 6 months sweating into my bucket to overcome the smell ... again ...
  21. Wow , I take it all back brother , you keep giving to the community
  22. I'm just wondering if someone can help me out . I ordered a pallet of these little beauties last week , and Paypaled for them yesterday . I have still not received the items I ordered . Has anyone had any dealings with this "Stomper" character before ? How is everyone else finding his delivery times ? Is he trustworthy ? I've heard that it can sometimes take up to a week to deliver to Australia . Are his products that much better than anyone else's stuff to make the wait worthwhile ?
  23. Scott , my thoughts are with you both . Family comes first , playtime second . Best wishes mate . *hugs to you both * Dave .
  24. One of my mates actually wore one of these suit , back in the day .... He has some photos of it , Ill try and get them to post up .
