  1. Yeah, you may be right, but I'm using only one reference: The real deal! Others do a lot of things differently, but isn't the ultimate goal to look like the white cannon fodder we all just loved right away when they entered the Tantive IV for the first time?
  2. Little advice: The drop boxes should sit right beneath the plastic belt, not hang loose like you have them now
  3. I was being serious! I want one set of those asap (and a hero set as well, just tell me where to shoot the funds!)
  4. Hey, I ordered a set like months ago!
  5. For further questions you can contact the maker's son (who happens to be a 501st member) via this e-mail addy: [email protected]
  6. They are hollow but have an engraved lense in the "back", and a roundish one in front. It does not actually function, but looks neat. I'll take pics of the lens later when I get back home from university
  7. - It's built by one man in his hobby workshop, but not by me - the scope is an aluminium replica done by the same man - Cylinders also come from him, he probably used the Russrep ones as reference - The grip is a cast piece in a special high impact resin, also done by him - The trigger is moving, the safety switch is working, but you can't fire it (no dry firing either) About the price, PM on it's way Locitus!
  8. One thing I was thinking about concerning those handguards: I don't think the originals were done like that (filling a mould with lotsa latex). The originals look more like they brushed in multiple layers. They dry quicker (although they take more of your time that way) and you'd end up with something closer to what we see on screen IMO, as I don't think they were solid but rather sort of thin with a "return edge". There's one pic of the TK with the alternative style handplates showing how much they bent and followed the hand, they couldn't have been that thick. Just a thought...
  9. As I said they were included. Remember we talked about it a while ago via PM? I will hook you up with Jörg and you guys can talk about a deal, I know he wants to order an armour kit from you sometime soon anyway
  10. I don't know about your gun laws - it's a non firing replica that cannot be made to fire, should be fine, no?
  11. I just finished modding this little baby, and although I was hoping to take some decent pics, I forgot to bring my girlfriend's camera with me, so I was stuck to using my old craptastic digicam... read: Sorry for the crappy pics. But here they are. I have another one of those babies here waiting for ObiHahn, so you guys can see what I've done to mine, but here's a quick rundown: Alterations: - removed the paint of the trigger mechanism - redid the scope rail to sit lower and go straight into the first barrel hole Additions: - added the power cylinders (included with the blaster, but not installed) - real metal Hengstler with Eagle (slapped it on with glue, screen accuracy ftw!) - T-tracks from Saberfreak So here's some pics: Here's a few differences to a real Sterling: - weighs only 1.5kg roughly (that's a third of a real Sterling) - the main barrel is 2mm too thin in diameter - no writings on the mag receiver - mag receiver and mag aren't conical - end cap slightly different - it doesn't shoot! These are done in small runs of 5 blasters, these were part of the first run, there's a second planned right now with I think 2 blasters spoken for, if anyone's interested, PM me, I can hook you up!
  12. That's exactly what I'd have done on my way from university. Still, if anyone else needs a can... Karin? disclaimer: Please don't slam me with requests now. Also keep in mind you're not allowed to ship spraycans overseas, at least not by airmail!
  13. I do, yeah. Autolack Center Bochum If it's too far for your sister I could go and pick up a can for you, they're around 8 Euros iirc.
  14. I've seen all the cans next to each other and picked 7034 as it looked the closest to what I see on the pics of the real lids. Just so you know, when I was working on that SFS lid I went through at least 3 different cans of "sorta khaki-grey" paints before finding this one. Just thought I'd share, especially for the European crowd
  15. I used Belton SpectRAL 7034 (gelbgrau) for my Dave M replica and another lid I'm working on right now. Dennis (ObiHahn) used the same stuff on his lid (not sure if he posted it on here) he just did that way. You can see it here:
  16. Man, you're seriously bitching because you are waiting for like 2 months and had excellent communication?! You're quite new to this hobby, right?
  17. Red primer
  18. sorry to say, but the tube stripes could go a little higher on the tubes and you put them on the wrong side. I also agree with the others about the eyes, they could do with a lot more trimming in fact. Else it's not too bad at all
  19. anyone getting an HDPE lid and turning it into a hero needs to be slapped... seriously!
  20. probably close to what VT charges now
  21. Lovely little bass - I only use it for live gigs though, the sound is a little too "vintage" for the studio Although I did use it on the "Star Wars Rocks!" song we recorded for this year's Jedi Con! Here's a link to it if anyone missed it------------ Enough OT banter now - show us your lids guys
  22. Here's what I have on display (I have a few more kits lying around, but I don't think they qualify for this thread ): -------- from left to right, top shelf: TM hero, CAP HG signature lid, CFO ROTJ lower shelf: DA lid in progress, Vaj (Dave M replica), TM Stunt and CAP-W ESB
  23. CAP lids are pretty nice - I still have my original CAP signature high gloss lid here. And it won't go anywhere anytime soon Too bad Chris left the hobby, he was a nutter, but a nice chap... oh well!
  24. I was going to say the same thing as Pablos as I can't unsee it, but if you're cool with it, well cool for you The lid looks very nice. One question though: Why did you have to tape the brow in place? It should sit there on it's own by pressure only.
  25. the helmet COULD be an AP recast, maybe. The chest looks quite weird, so does the abdomen. I have no idea...
