1. You could always switch, it's never too late. Even if you already bought the brackets you can always find someone who needs them real easy.
2. And that Troopmaster is why you shouldn't trust random charts you find on line I guess. I found one that said .80 gauge was 1mm. I'm happy I commented now. Thank you. I'm a little sad, really wanted ANH strapping but that's life
3. So just to be sure if I'm buying a .80 gauge ABS suit I could use ANH strapping if I wanted but any thicker it's risking cracking?
4. Awesome I'll definitely email Echo thank you
5. Lol yeah you said pull right in your first post, totally missed that
6.
Which size do I need? Can't seem to find that exact number anywhere on here.
7. Should I be ready to do my helmet first or should I wait until last? I've been hearing conflicting ideas on that one.
8. Do you think that any of our usual small armor makers would take time from what's still selling like hotcakes to make something so labour intensive? Kind of feels like a more of a big business kind of move to me. I hope they do though.
9. Fyi also large amounts of CA drying feels like fire lol. Unpleasant to say the least.
10. Well you did a good job by the looks of it. Do you have any close ups of where the seam between the plate and shim are? Did you do a return edge on the top and bottom of the shim? I'm on my phone and can't tell if you did.
11. Hey buddy, how did this turn out? I'm currently watching the Trooperbay videos too. He's so violent with his abs lol. I am enjoying them although they still leave a lot of unanswered questions that luckly the people on here know the answers to. Like where the return edges should actually be etc.

All I can say for sure is if you haven't started using CA please don't. I'm a woodworker and we use CA for finishs on our small lathe pieces and I know it is so easy to slip and all of a sudden have a piece of ABS covered in glue that will never come off. Just a few weeks ago I actually managed to slip and cover 3 entire fingers and half my palm with it and I've been using it for a few years!
12. I don't want to make it seem like I'm judging in the least because it looks like you did a great job, but why didn't you split the shims between the ab plate and kidneys? It would have been twice the shimming but you could have gotten the space dead centre on your side there and it would look a tiny bit more proportional.

This is exactly what I'm going to have to do too even though AP is forming in an extra 3 inches per piece. So I'll make sure to curse my own name when I'm doing twice the work for a few inch different result on a seam lol.

Ouch!

I bet you at the bottom he realised the irony of hurting yourself in fake armor
14. That RS Props kit kind of seems like it could just as easily be put together by yourself for cheaper.
15. I'm really worried about that too but it's life if you want to get into this. There are people everywhere having armor building parties all the time. You'll always have help if you're coming here.
16. Well if you actually have 100 there you have a few extra to test out. Put some on some elastic and just reef on it and see it you can break it. You'll know bad snaps when you're using them.

I've never used them on armor yet but I used to make fishing vests with my mom when I was a kid. I liked the hammering involved so the snaps were my job.
17. I wonder how the black ones would take dye. I want the hand painted look. Has anyone done that?
18. Well we'll see what I choose to do then thank you
19. Gasmosis, what is your opinion on Imperial Boots? I'm hearing mixed reviews on the accuracy for ANH
20. Is ordering through their site reliable? I came here to find out but it looks like everyone who commented ordered through PM.
21. I also have to say that I love that it was capt safe that brought that up lol
22. They won't ship to Canada! Boo!
23. That is really wide piping isn't it. There's a good chance I may buy your boot #1 there gasmosis. Thank you.

I'm used to slick boots I used to wear Canadian dress combat boots all the time in cadets so that wouldn't bother me.
24. http://www.asos.com/New-Look/New-Look-Leather-Chelsea-Boot/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=5451154&cid=5774&Rf989=4910&Rf-200=4&Rf-800=-1,76&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=-1&clr=Black&totalstyles=53&gridsize=3 I found some good priced chelseas with free shipping but a really weird sole. Would this effect my admission if I used these boots? I don't see anything about the other than "flat" sole in the CRL. EDIT: I mean sole colour or texture, does this count as flat? Now that I'm looking closer the bottom of the elastic is too wide and round I think. Opinions?
