  1. Stomper T-Tracks if still around? I was just about to give a go on a home made E-11 Thank you if still available
  2. Thanx for the recommendation. Ordered two. One to mess up and one to do right
  3. That blaster got me all choked up; just wonderful The split butt/kidney seems to me to be visible on pics #2 and #3 in the first post, although I am by no means an expert (just fishing around for ideas as I'm putting my RT together ) Excellent armor!
  4. Nathan, thank you if you are still collecting names. If over, I commend you on your generosity and those that have also given in this post. STAR WARS EPISODE IV : A NEW HOPE STORMTROOPER
  5. Welcome Love that scout armor. i should probably head over there and take a look-see Nah, let me get this project done first
  6. Didn't I already attempt to answer this question for you in a similar post on this forum? Oh well... The R-Mod was designed for a person who was 6' 220# The "fit" problems, as at least many have, are in the arms and legs. To quote R of RT-Mod in an email to me a while back:
  7. OMG, thank you for posting this. I am waiting on my RT-Mod from Canada. He sent it on Dec. 4th and stated about 8 days to me. i have been worried that I won't get it and that I should panic (always helps, right?). Good to know stuff is just late <_<
  8. Rob (of RT-Mod) built his armor to fit him. He was (is?) 6'0" and 200#
  9. Just to be a bit different I ordered a pair of HatchĀ® Operatorā„¢ Tactical Gloves: ------- They were on sale . Someone had posted (this forum?, MWG?) about having these once. They are a bit different from the flight gloves and have an elastic band to keep the forearm end tucked. I'll let you know when I get them.
  10. Ack! Can't find it I remember a post about describing a backward swoop (slope?) of Han's shoulder bells vs. a forward slope of Luke's. Let me try and find it and I'll link it. Not sure if thats what the OP is looking at. There is mention of the central ridge curving one way in his post. Off to search
  11. While waiting on my RT-Mod to arrive ( ) I have been looking at several builds on here/youtube/other sites. Almost all of them talk of gluing one side of the extremity pieces and velcroing the other. It seems to me that if I am a good fit, the thigh/bicep/perhaps forearms could be glued on both sides, leaving the calves velcroed for the passage of feet. Two questions: -Is this wrong? I'm sure some of you have done this and I am just not finding the build. -How does one glue them? Both at the same time? Or one side at a time? Any advise would help. BTW, I was thinking that if I did expand (bodybuilding/food-stuffing) I would use E6000 which seems to allow an eventual separation if coaxed along (or so I have read) and then just insert shims. I would think I would need to remove the velcro glued pieces anyway if I needed to expand. Thanx in advance
  12. Wow. I really needed to see this post. As I tend to be accident prone, paranoid, and overly cricical of my mistakes (great combo, huh?) I plan to ditch the Devcon I bought and use E6000 for the build of my RT-Mod when it arrives. A bit more forgiving, it seems
  13. Heh, heh. No problem, Thomas Perhaps we could put together an RT-Mod dual list of do's-and-dont's. I'm not a great picture guy anyway. ...Still waiting for the armor...(As per RT-Mods schedule. He said it wouldn't be ready until late October)
  14. Well thank you both for the info. I look forward to those helmet pics No fans . Should I just return mine back to the Shack? I had thought they were a "must have" but it seems here that they are not as important as I thought. The fact that you can't fit it in the RT-Mod doesn't give great hope for me. Sure will make this whole battery thing a lot easier if I only run the voice. Thanx again
  15. I am trying to get together parts for the RT-Mod helmet that's coming my way. I would like to try the Walmart voice changer (4.5V) with 2 12V computer fans from Radio Shack. My question relates to how to BEST power it: -Now my simple mind is telling me I need 11 AA batteries (8 for fans, 3 for the voice) -Now a bit of searching shows that I could get by with 2 9V (fan) and then the 3 AA for the Voice changer -Yet I'm hoping there is an "all 9V" solution to this that a newbie might be able to do The 11 AA seems to be a heavy and bulky option, especially for a non-FX helmet. I am planning on hooking the Voice Changer board to a pair of aerator speakers (RT states I need something 16mm or less, and sizing isn't often quoted here) so I hope this could be an all-in-one type of system. Is there a way to just use 2 or 3 9V with some resistor thingies (OK, OK, I swear I am educated, but I am a complete newb in electronics ). Is there an even better option (somewhere I saw something about rechargeables, but it was not related to this dual question)? I have not seen this on the board, at least when searching for diagrams/fans/etc. Any help in any direction would be appreciated

    Dieting

My best advice about weight loss and overall health is to not take any given on a Star Wars costume enthusiast site That being said, the simple truth is: -most diets fail. -exercise will fix both your problems. Motivation is a key factor in this. Just figure out where you want to go with this. Is it "I want to be able to run without being out of wind", "I want to look good", or "I want to see my toes again". A goal is often useful. My choice (and the armor becomes a factor in this) is that i wanted to look better and to get off diabetic medication. After looking at various health, exercise, and bodybuilding sites for information(American College of Sports Medicine has some great information/research), I decided that I would lift weights with some cardio in between. The nice thing about newbie bodybuilding is you can start at any weight, you see improvement at a good rate, and you get a double whammy in weight loss. You see, added muscle mass burns calories EVEN WHEN YOU ARE NOT WORKING OUT (see, the laziness in me is still there). Realize that as you progress this weight loss and muscle gain becomes a less inefficient catch-22, but in the early period (up to first year) the improvement is there. Biking, jogging, treadmill, etc., all lose weight only when you are exercising. The bodybuilding higher protein, less carb (within reason) diet is also great for blood glucose management. Hope you find something that interests you. I would think it would be the key to success. Best wishes in whatever you choose
  17. DOH Sometimes I need a "Captain Obvious" kick in the pants. Thank you, never thought of using that. Well it seems that any numbers that have anything to do with my/my wife/my kids/ my prison num... ....nevermind... are all taken. Looks like it's random number generator for me!
  18. 3 questions: -Is there any list of numbers that are LEFT? I see the looooong list of member numbers in existence on 501st, just thought I'd ask. -Is is one number for ANY catagory (TK,TI,SL)? Or can one be TK-ABCD and also have exist a TI-ABCD? -Are inactive numbers game, or do they stay as they are? Just checking and thanx . Sure doesn't seem to be a bunch of numbers left . Perhaps I need to scroll down the list a bit more.
  19. Plan is to get my oversized bod into an RT-Mod ANH Elite TK outfit. Hoping to do this correctly right from the start so I don't have to redo anything. I thank all of you for putting up with my questions to get there.
  20. CRUD Searched all over for "poll" "ratchet" "poll helmet", didn't find it......... Nevermind <_< BTW - Thanx
  21. While I'm waiting on the RT, I thought I'd ask on what people prefer in the interior fit of their helmet. I've heard of a few different ways(including that new oven-mitt looking option I just saw ) but was wondering if anyone could add any opinion, pro/con, where to buy the stuff, etc..; or is it just a "6 of one/half dozen of the other" type of thing? Thanks in advance
