  1. This morning I worked a little on the folding stock... I wanted the front end to look like the real thing. I trimmed out the center rod so it looked circular and the side channels deep. I also worked on the front piece that would rotate... cleaned out the rotating piece.
  2. Brian thanks for the kind compliment. I was trying to make sure it still looked like two pieces... so when I did the green stuff I made sure to mold a crevice. I painted it back silver so I could see all my green stuff errors.... a little drying, green stuff, sanding, and then hammered paint.
  3. I was looking at the E11 Reference guide (http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32111-fisd-e-11-blaster-reference/ AWESOME RESOURCE... thanks for putting this together) when I saw a great build on the end cap, entry 21 MOD B. So as the greatest form of flattery I copied. I marked the outline of the D-ring retainer in pencil and then used my small wood working tools to carve out the location. I cut out a little to much... but green stuff took care of the gaps. I also did the gratuitous electrical tape on the D-Ring to keep it from rattling. I also put a little green stuff by the D-ring to reduce the noise even further.
  4. I am fond of number 8 and 11. I think it comes down to the one you like the best. Good job with the designs.
  5. I know there should be two small holes in each electrical connection. The only thing I could find was the inside of a fuse, but they looked too small.
  6. I finished my counter this morning.... I finally found an electrical connection that looked right to me.
  7. good job... I like the way it came together. To me I would do a little less weathering, but it still looks great.... it just a personal preference
  8. I have been extremely busy with work this week and only had a little time to work of the DD. I continued to work on the folding stock as I am waiting for parts to make the scope light up. I trimmed out the space where the butt stock folds down to give it a real look. I will continue to work on this to get it right. I am creating a recess to cast a shadow to make it look like two separate pieces. I trimmed out to front portion and will fix the edge with green stuff
  9. Are you going to hollow out the resin counter or cut in half and build up the electronic counter? I'm very interested in this idea
  10. That is awesome. I will have to look into this for my next build. Can't wait to see the build
  11. Your build is off to a great start. I am looking forward to watching the progress.
  12. I liked the challenge of building.... However my next E11 will be one of Derreks' Phoenix Props 2.0 kits and they come with the power cylinder from Andy (Playfulwolfcub)
  13. WOW!!!! this is impressive. I wish I had read this before working on my cylinders. I really like you build. The next time I do one I will be using your ideas.
  14. Chris I would use flat black for the exterior of the scope. The gloss will not look like the real one. I left my screws out on the scope when I painted but when I did the counter I cover them with tape. Afterwards I prefer putting them in after the paint. Either way is fine. I really like the way youre scope is coming along.
  15. If you want my reticle I can email the file. I tried to post here, but it would not let me upload a PowerPoint slide.
  16. I don't think there is an official reticle. I looked at the one on trooperbay and then designed this in PowerPoint. I downloaded auebush Star Wars alphabet for the lettering.
  17. Chris, the prism is a great idea.... I wish I had saved the ones in my scope. Cant wait to see finished shots
  18. I painted my scope rail... it looks like I sanded too much off the top of the screw head... a little green stuff and no one will know.
  19. I used a temporary red light source... I am working on a way to turn on the light via a switch.
  20. When I put it in the scope I wrapped one layer of black electrical tape around the disc and place a flat rubber gasket on the front disc. https://youtu.be/ZyQ1JTU7rX0
  21. This gives it a 3D effect... https://youtu.be/lpXkw_uizwE I cant figure out how to embed the youtube in the post.... so I just put the link
  22. I think I got it right for my scope reticle. I printed out my scope reticle in four separate pieces onto clear stickers that I got off amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008SEZH3A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00. I then cut out the sticker and placed them on 3/4" clear disc I got off of ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/391184172971?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I stacked the disc together and glued the sides with Zap a Gap.
  23. That is the rivet looking one I saw. Might be hard to find a washer small enough to do what you did in the folding stock. I think you may be right about what year or what version of the Sterling makes the difference on the rear sight. I will keep my eyes open for a replica part and let you know.
  24. Thanks Chris. Building this DD is a labor of love. My next one will be Derrek's V2 E11.... now that kit is impressive. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28047-phoenix-props-e-11-stormtrooper-blaster-kits-a-new-hope-and-esb/page-1
  25. I used a hex bolt, but I think I am incorrect... Some that I have seen look kinda like rivets.
