  1. The only one they advertised so far is the one on display at the Costumes of Star Wars exhibit in New York right now...
  2. Basically, what this boils down to is whether or not the house of the mouse used a vetted maker's armor as a placeholder, right? Not cool for sure... Even if that's the case, it says nothing about the Anovos kit and then this will have been, as it's been the case for quite some time now, just pointless speculation on our part... I'm seeing a pattern here, almost like someone warned us not too get too carried away with speculation and stuff [emoji14]
  3. I guess it will be hard to get such pictures unless someone who reads this thread happens to go there soon... I just don't get it though, if I was to go there, I'd take a million pictures of the suit, not just one!! BTW, would you be so kind as to share what those tell are? I'm always up for learning more about the types of armour...
  4. Yeah but you know, I once saw a Vader with 6 inches soles so I guess 6'4 isn't so bad [emoji12]
  5. Dude, you should be the boss of us
  6. I had to pay extra because I changed shipping method and location and they gave me a code! Someone saved quite a few buck on a full completed suit thanks to this!!!
  7. I'm sorry I misled you, I'm pretty sure it was being considered at some point... Maybe you could buy a helmet kit and sell the completed one? Edit : I found the post from Got Maul on theRPF. Kit helmet option was discussed but nothing ever came of it... Sorry [emoji17]
  8. You can request to get your bucket un-assembled if I'm not mistaken. I've read that on the RPF where one of the big fluffy bunnies still lurks from time to time... Shoot an email to [email protected] and they might be able to work something out for you...
  9. Are you saying we are taking this plastic spaceman thing too seriously?!? [emoji47] [emoji47] [emoji47] [emoji47] [emoji47] Thanks for unlocking the thread! I hope it won't be long until we have something real to talk about...
  10. Thanks for making these! I've watched Trooperbay's a few times but I'll be having a look for sure!
  11. Hi Scott! I'm on the FB page too where I saw your post about wanting to do this and I thought, cool man go for it!! However, to see that you intend to pass it on to a buddy to live his dream too, that's super awesome man! I don't have the faintest idea on how to do what you're trying to do but I just wanted to say I hope it turns out good!
  12. Bonjour Danillo! Je suis à Montréal et comme toi, j'espère pouvoir joindre les rangs de l'empire l'an prochain. Tout le monde que j'ai rencontré de la légion ont été très sympa!
  13. I'm sorry to say that but many things are bugging me with this kit but I'm still just a noob, so I could be wrong. It really looks like a recast of FX armor... FX armor just isn't very accurate. Maybe others can chime in but that's what I see. Off the top of my head : - Proportions are a bit weird... - Back "I/O panel" is too big - Ab isn't accurate, see below an RS for reference Again, I'm really, REALLY sorry to say that but it's not very accurate... It still looks like a TK so most people will still get a kick out of seeing you at events and such. As for approval, I really can't say, maybe someone higher up in the food chain can advise?
  14. People managed to have Rubies approved so maybe this can be modded to work for approval. I hope things will work you for you...
  15. I'd hate to rain on your parade but I've seen threads about TKUK and the opinions are it's to be avoided. I'm no expert though, maybe someone else could have a look and shed a light...
  16. Funtasma boots are kind of a no-no... They have a stitch in the front which inaccurate. It should pass only for basic approval but not for EIB or Centurion.
  17. This sight post housing looks great!! I'd love one but I don't know anyone who has a 3d printer :'(
  18. Take a few over excited guys with too much free time.Pour insane expectations. Add a bit of uncertainety. Leave it to rest for a few months. You get this!!! [emoji12]
  19. They said that 2 rivets didn't pass quality and safety testing. We all have to keep in mind that anyone can buy these, not only 501st members. They need it to look good, they need it to be sturdy and they need it to be safe. Those concerns are more important than screen accuracy for them. Yes, it's a downer for us but for them, it's better than costumer complaints because it broke or God forbid somebody getting hurt because some part of the costume broke.
  20. That's weird, I mean to me they look like two completely different things! But knowing the history of ANH props, it wouldn't be that surprising!!!
  21. One thing is bugging me with this whole Thermal Detonator aka O2 canister thing. I keep reading how it's an abomination, how innacurate it is. Yet, I'm looking at TD from other makers and I'm seeing some VERY different styles... Here's an RS: And here's an AP: From what I understand, RS is the absolute best in terms of accuracy, so that would mean that the AP one is innacurate? If so, I hear no talk of it being some kind of monstrosity that shouldn't pass basic approval. I'm not saying it should be the case, it just feels odd like there's a double standard...
  22. I remember when people here said the prototype photos looked too soft. You know what? Maybe they were listening, a bit too hard [emoji12] Anyway, I'm glad you're not dismissing it as total garbage. I mean, yeah it's no RS but it's no Rubies either. Some modifications required? Yeah, ok I can work with that! I didn't go into this expecting to get a ready to wear, all inclusive, sign here for 501st approval suit. I took the time to learn about the Rebel Legion and the 501st. I knew this included a lot more expenses on the side. I knew that you need to put work into it and that it's part of what makes it great. And I'm looking forward to all of that! In the end, there are kits for everyone. Like the "Types of armor and where to get them" says, there is no "best" armor, there is the best for you. Even with vetted makers, I'm looking at TD controls and buttons and it's all over the place really." You've got RS which looks like it walked off the set but you also get some that are more, uh, interesting... That's ok, it's been approved for legion membership. As far as Anovos is concerned? So yeah, they may have fudged the "sanitize" and "sharpen" buttons a bit too hard. So what? Don't buy it then, plenty of other options out there! Could it be too thin? Maybe but I doubt it, mostly because of their reputation for putting well crafted items for other brands. As for me, I'm comparing with other kits and I see that the general shape is very similar. It looks the part for sure. It's sharper, it's cleaner but it's still a TK. I have no doubt that once I put it on, 99,999999% percent of people will see a stormtrooper. And the guy next to me, whether is wearing ATA, AP, MTK, RS or even FX, you know what? They'll just see another TK and then they'll freak out like kids, just like I did first time I saw the guys from the 501st. In the end, we are all in love with the costume we build because we care. Because we choose them, because we've dreamed of them, built them and invested time and money into them. Who am I to tell someone else that my kit is better than his? He has his reason for liking his, I've got my own too! And you know what? My reasons aren't only that it's a good deal, I like that it's cleaner. I like that they went the extra mile to make sure the pieces fit properly. Thanks Vern, I was staring to get discouraged by all this negativity I read all day. If you think that this is worth building, I guess there's a good chance it won't be that bad after all...
  23. Way too early to tell IMO.. You'd need to have the actual WFBSORNTACP armor in you're hands to be able to determine whether or not thickness will be an issue...
