Very cool!! Do they look sturdy to you?
-
Hey, just saw this thread looking for a snaps source. Do you think that by adding another layer of nylon or maybe a washer, these could work? I'm having a bit of a hard time finding good and affordable snaps in Canada(Montreal area)...
-
Which, totally floats my boat!! When I saw up close RS pictures, I couldn't believe how bad it looks. Screen accurate, yes but it kinda looks like something some schmuck made in his backyard. So you know, assysmetrical but clean works for me!
-
I think ATA is cheaper but you'd have to buy the soft parts on top so I don't think there really are much cheaper kits... A TK isn't cheap, that's a fact! The biggest difference IMO is with vetted makers, you know what you're getting, which is the problem with Anovos, too much unknown. I wouldn't worry too much about body type, worst case scenario you'd have to shim, which plenty of people have done in the past. One thing about vetted makers is that most of them have a waiting list, so depending of which option you choose, you could be looking at a few months before getting your hands on it. Then again, Anovos has yet to ship a single armor!

Couldn't resist [emoji14] Boy I hope Mel gets to make a second one with Star Wars coming back in full force...

Hey, noob talking here, why the curved lexans over straight? I guess there must be a reason, like it makes it easier to cut because plastic doesn't bend like a piece of paper does or something... Thanks
-
Definitely Stunt but the holster is Hero... I guess this is their "wearabily over acuracy" thing... So, unless they provide it disassembled, we might have to get a new fabric belt.

From various threads, Angelus leather paint seems to be the best paint for this job. Here's a thread with a great tutorial on how to do it : http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/32499-My-New-Boots

Confirmed! They will be using ABS after all so you go use pretty much any build here as a reference!

So, I tried plugging my fans and it was so easy! I'm just glad I did that instead of buying a pre-built kit, it's very rewarding to hook everything up, press the switch and see it working! It took me about 15 minutes of research, cost me 10$ and only a few minutes to get it working. I bought everything from Chinese retailers on eBay so the shipping took a while but it was worth it! For such tiny fans, they put out a lot of air!!! Here's what I used : ---------

Unless I missed something, it was said by reps on the show floor but never formally announced... I might be wrong though! Either way, I trust them to put out a good product
-
That hasn't been confirmed yet, not officially at least... They did however post in the standalone shadow trooper helmet preorder that it's made out of black ABS. So, I guess ABS it is! The next newsletter should clarify that, it's supposed to come out any day now.
-
They look very close to TKboots IMO. Not 100%, there are some slight differences in the design but they are as close as you get for the price! If you intend to go with black boots painted white, they seem to be a great choice... Very comfortable too! In fact, I'm wearing them right now
-
The nice thing about Roamers is that they are very narrow at the ankle, so that should help, that is if those are the boots you bought...
-
Never thought of it that way. It may or may not!! To be honest, I was just excited to have something stormtrooper related I could wear [emoji14]
-
I think your work will become a reference if you continue at that pace! I'm keeping a close look
-
The last I checked, 799$ plus shipping and a PayPal fee of 4%. Keep in mind that this is the armor only, so you will need to buy all the soft parts from vendors here in extra.
-
People have seen it at San Diego Comic Con but the assembly was rushed... I think you can find pictures of it in this thread. I think I may even have posted them myself but I can't remember It looks good in my opinion but I'm no expert. Keep in mind that no matter which armor you get, the low canadian dollar is gonna hurt... It sucks, I know, but the is why the 350$ preorder was such a steal. The exchange rate was better at the time... In the end, you could always order now and see what the quality turns out to be once they start shipping. They'll let you cancel if you change your mind...

I agree with Charles, I won't paint them until later but they look and feel great out of the box! Probably one of the best options out there.

Thanks! It means a lot coming from you Your build is fantastic and inspired me to push the envelope a little

Thanks! I came to me after I realised how awful in was with an hacksaw [emoji14]
