Yeah, that makes more sense! That's why I asked I guess... Prevents me from doing something stupid [emoji14]

Yeah, I see your point... If I ever do sell it on eBay, which I doubt, I'll be sure to tell in the post in what way the armor isn't 501st approved so that the buyer knows what he's getting into.
-
Yes, definitely! Call me naive if you will but with their history of Trek offerings, interviews, access to the LFL archives and the fact that they come from the fan community, I'm quite hopeful they'll put out a quality TK. If not, well there's always eBay...

Well they even said as much. Got Maul on The RPF boards said that thanks to the number of preorder they got, they were able to have their own supply of PVC made to their specs. IMO that statement supports the theory that they needed a large cash intake in order to start production, which it seems they got.

That's neat! I thought you had two fans. Is one enough in your experience? -

I've done some research and it would cost me less than 20$, soldering iron included! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I never thought it could be that easy! -

Very interesting! This is definitely my definition of dirt cheap! I'll have to ask around if I have any friends with special talents... -
Sorry if this has been asked before, I've run a quick search but didn't find what I was looking for. I'm trying to find cheap options for helmet fans, since I'll be honest, I'm looking at the cost of this whole project adding up and it's starting to get scary! So, by cheap, I mean dirt cheap!! I have no knowledge of soldering electronics and I don't have the equipement either, so unless there's some significant savings to do by going this route, I'd rather be looking at something that's already assembled. One thing I was looking at is something like this : http://m.aliexpress.com/item-desc/1981887909.html It might be a little big (12cm x 6,5cm x 1,8cm) or it might be a stupid idea but that's why I'm asking the experts here... What do think? Any other suggestion? Thanks!

I'm trowing that out there, just a thought I had. Do you think painting the interior with chrome paint would do a cool effect? What I'm thinking is that it might make it look like it was actually working, what do you think?
-
Oh! Sorry about that! I had read it but I'm following so many threads, trying to take it all in, I didn't remember...

I might be interested! I'll keep an eye out for that! -
Happy for you! [emoji2] Out of curiosity, when did you order?
-
So did I!!! Gosh, I love this place Thanks for the awesome build thread!!!
-
Yay!!! I got one! I missed it the last two times. Impulse buy FTW!!!

Happy reading!!! http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/30831-Anovos-TK-armor-preorder The general consensus is this should probably work as long as they don't mess it up. No one knows for sure!
-
I was very concerned at first too but what I read in other threads reassured me... The switch from ABS to PVC was explained by GotMaul on the RPF boards and it seems like they are doing this after extensive tests on materials made specifically for them... I don't know if this will be better than kits from vetted maker but I don't think it will be that much worse either. Just different...
-
I know, I've looked at AP and even though I'd love to support him, I can't spend that much especially since there is so much included with the Anovos kit that I would have to buy separately... That would be almost twice as expensive and I bought the kit on impulse given the low price because I knew TK armors were worth much more than that!

Hi everyone! Sorry if this has been asked already, if so I couldn't find it! So, I don't know if this is worthy of a thread but here it is : What are your experiences with shipping and customs when ordering an armor from the US? I ordered an armor from Anovos and I've asked for it to be shipped to a location just past the border who will receive it and hold it for me so that I can go pick it up. I did this because : A) when I ordered, the shipping costs to Canada were ridiculous(I hear they went down for new orders) I don't really trust the customs to be neither fast or careful with this package. I do know however that I'll probably have to pay duties and taxes when I'll cross the border and that might not be such a joyride either. So my question is this, what is your experience with armor shipping? Did you ever pass the border with a TK armor in he back of your car and how did it go? Based on your experience, should I change my shipping info so that they ship it to my place instead? Thanks for your help!
-
I find their answer to you much better! The fact that they will color match is giving me hope! I was afraid the Anovos kit would stick out from the bunch but I feel more confident now!
