  1. That armor looks awful, and I would run away. Fast. As long as it is built correctly, any armor from these sellers will get you into the 501st and can make it to Centurion level. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ Here is another thread you should read: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19329-where-what-and-whom-to-avoid-when-buying/
  2. Have you tried Amazon? Just search "Men's black compression pants/shirt". Undersuits should fit snug, but not tight enough to cut off circulation. As for sizing, you could go to a sporting goods store and try on a set to give you a better idea of what size would suit you best. Most of that those stores sell them, but the prices are crazy. When you find what you need, just make sure that there are no visible logos, or you could wear them inside out.
  3. The Anovos kit is certainly thinner than many of the others available from our vetted armorers, but will hold up if taken care of. You will want to reinforce a lot of areas, as noted above they are prone to cracking/splitting, especially in the neck area. You will also want to ditch the "less than ideal" Velcro strapping system they supply and definitely change out the flimsy canvas belt. Remember as well that replacement pieces are not available. (Not yet, anyway). There are a lot of great makers listed in this thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/, but read this one as well: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19329-where-what-and-whom-to-avoid-when-buying/
  4. Darman's neck seals are incredibly well made, and you will not be disappointed. Answering the "call of nature" is difficult with a one piece to say the least.
  5. When you receive you 501st approval and start trooping, binders are a great way to get the public involved. You can put someone "under arrest", which makes for a great photo-op. You will be surprised at how many people are willing to put them on for a cool pic, but if it is a child, be sure not to point your blaster at them.
  6. Who's that guy above the brim on your hat? He looks sort of familiar...
  7. AWESOME! Hopefully one of our talented members can add a few special effects to make those photos even more realistic.
  8. Looking good, Mike! You were wise to do the black outline first, but you may need to extend it out a bit more. Keep up the great work!
  9. A safe and happy Easter to you, my friend, and everyone else here on the FISD.
  10. I would like to congratulate Josh on being approved at C-8. Great job, Trooper, and welcome to level two.. next stop, Centurion!
  11. Since Doopydoos does not sell replacement parts, you may want to check with Derrek (Dday) here and ask: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28047-phoenix-props-e-11-stormtrooper-blaster-kits-a-new-hope-and-esb/
  12. The best thing to do is post up some detailed photos of them actually on your arms, Joseph. Having your gloves on would help. (Cool name, by the way, ).
  13. Ron is absolutely correct. Pictures really are worth a thousand words and I would post up some detailed pics (or at least some info.).
  14. The 501st room is located in the West building in room 206, right above the photo shoot area. The 501st changing room is just down the hall in room 206-B.
  15. You really don't need to take it apart to Plasti-Dip it, Erik. Just remove the lenses, S trim and any electronics and mask everything off well with blue painter's tape. You didn't mention if you were using the brush-on or the spray, (you have a little more control with the brush-on type). It's not necessary, but I would lightly sand and then clean the interior first, which will help with adhesion.
  16. The "S" trim is the correct type, but without photos it does make it a bit difficult to diagnose the problem. Have you tried using Photobucket? You can resize the photo there and then post it.
  17. Be sure to buy pure acetone and not fingernail polish remover, which contains acetone, but it is highly diluted and doesn't work
  18. I know that there will a LIMITED amount of space in the storage area, but you might want to check with someone at the 501st booth on Thursday or Friday to make sure.
  19. Great job on that build, Richard, and I hope to see your submission for level 3 after your EIB approval! One small thing I noticed is that you will probably need to remove the last of the return edges on the "bump" of your forearm for Centurion (see photo). This is a really easy fix. Also, you may want to change out the TD screws for the correct "pan-head" type. I can shoot you a set of these (no charge) if you pay postage. PM me if interested. It won't affect your submission, but I recommend rounding out the bottoms of your TD clips and adding a strip of Velcro (the fuzzy side) to the backs of them. This will help keep them from scratching your armor. Nice job on those ab/kidney connections!!
  20. Welcome to the wonderful world of level 3, Centurion!
  21. It's a bit strange that they don't list prices for the items that are for sale.
  22. Please note that you can follow Ken's new build thread here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41272-anh-stunt-tk-bulid-2017/ Looking forward to watching your progress!
  23. For levels 2 and 3 you will need solid black rubber ("chemical") gloves. The magnets you will need are the neodymium (rare earth) type. These things are SUPER strong, and I suggest wrapping them individually in blue painter's tape. As for the size, I would look for the ones that are about 20 mm wide and 3 mm thick. You can usually find these on ebay. Hint: When using these, you need to slide them apart to separate them and keep them far apart. (They can jump up to 70 mm to reattach themselves). You can break off a fingernail otherwise. Make sure that the undersuit has no markings on it, or if it does, you can turn it inside out when you wear it.
